Thanks for tracking me down Kim!
I'm still frustrated at my lack of weight dropping, but I'm making some changes to try and get things rolling. I'm focusing on eating cleaner and have started shakeology shakes for breakfast. This fits into the "our way" mantra because its not atkins per say, but I'm digging it! Also, Trigger, way to go! You're so close to Onderland!!!!!!

I also lost this morning, depending on which scale reading I choose to believe! I have a terrible scale and did not have time to weigh-in with Wii Fit which seems more reliable. I'm declaring myself down to 265, as I got readings at 264 (twice), 265 (twice) and 265.2 (twice). So I'll go for the middle one. Down 35 lbs. yea! |

Mitsi that is funny. you are going with the middle LOL way to go. new lows are all what we want !!!!
Adoug, have you tracked calories at all. atkins says ya don't have too, must I gotta say most people do need to know their intake. I can't lose at 1500-1600. at 900-1300 I can lose. It is alot of tweaking to find what works for everyone. I never thought about cals. but Kim mentioned she is eating lower and I realized I had to check my cals. Just wondering if you know what your cals are for the day? Kim--celery. good deal cause I have one in the drawer. don't like it too much, but today I will eat it with tuna for lunch.

I have done a bit of calorie tracking with a not-to-be-mentioned website recently and it seems I generally fall between 1200-1400, 1500 would be high day for me. It's funny, becuase I am not trying to specfically eat low calorie, I'm just not that hungry on this WOE. But I am eating less than I used to. |

Hello Everyone,
Thanks Kimberli33 for the PM and Mistizoom for the Welcome. I'm really happy there is a group that has different plans and yet can co-exist. Well after a loooong weekend (extended to Tuesday ) I have decided that I am ready to finally get this weight off and do it in a way that works for me.I have tried several diets and have had success with all of them so the problem isn't which one works but rather which one I can stick with. So I've taken what I've learned over the years of doing many plans and came up with moderate carbs my way. My eating will vary day to day, there maybe days when all I want is protein, or veggies or both. I drink Atkin's shakes, it gives me that break of monotany. I try to watch for added sugar but will not freak out over a small amount. I refuse to be a food ****! I will try to listen to my body and eat when I'm hungry and if I'm not then I won't. SW: 261 (21 lbs away from my highest wt) This makes me sad as I had gotten down to 197. GW: 175 (may change) My planned menu today Atkins Mixed Berry Shake Pepperoni Dt Dr. Pepper water may drink an Atkins Vanilla shake on the way home if I'm hungry Dreamfield pasta with ground beef & spaghetti sauce, paramsean cheese |

Adoug
have you thought about making that big UP or DOWN jump in cals? like eat 900 one day and then 1200 the next day and shake up the old body? I noticed if I eat the 1100-1300 it takes forever to move the weight it seems, but if I hit in there with a very low day or a higher day then back to like 1200 I get that scale moving? I don't know LOL just trying to get you shaking it up more to tweak a bit. What is the best way for you to move the scale usually? for me it really is eating a few days very very low cal. Being that I eat the more decadent higher fat meals I do get stuffed and it is doable. Like today I am at 897 cals. I am stuffed. I might eat 100 more tonight. right now I doubt I will do dinner. but just decide to do water the rest of the night and in the morning eat good. |

Hey everyone,
welcome meeha!!! Trigger you are so close to Onderland, kutgw! As someone mentioned Judd can i ask what is the max and min calorie counts for those UD and DD? Anyone know? I had one too many pork rinds last night so this morning it show a lb gain. So today being 100% clean and even added 20 mins walking into it. I am so bad with exercising. Adoug4ho dont give up!! you have done so well, keep at it and the scales will move down again. x Last edited by focus83; 02-20-2013 at 11:46 AM.. |

focus, go to the Dr. Johnson UP Down Diet website.
there is a calculator that you put in your weight etc. and it tells you your down and up calories. I did it. I am guessing cause it was a while ago, but I think I was 385 cals. on low day, 1600 or so on up day. |

I think that cycling is a good idea. I attempted it a week ago, but it got really confusing when I started adding in workout calories, etc. So I'm going to work on "clean" this week and then consider cycling after that. I think ignoring my workout calories has to be what I do, and it will likely prevent me from overeating b/c I worked out!

yea alot of times I hear people just ignore the workout cals. don't even think of those. pick a calorie and eat it and whatever exercise you do, don't count it or anything.
good move |

I agree. I love lemon water and will suck up a ton of it now that you mentioned it. I kinda got away from it, but back into the plan it goes.

Good Morning All,
Kim...... That's Great! Lemon water I just can't do it without some sweetner. My husband can though with no problem. Well I hopped on the scale this morning (i weigh myself every morning) and dropped 5lbs!! Not surprised as I was pretty carbed up from days eating junk. My menu changed from previously posted, I think I'm gonna post my menu the next day of what I ate vs. before. Yesterday's menu Atkins Mixed Berry Shake pepperoni dt dr pepper water 3 buffalo chicken legs w/sliced jalapeno and chunky blue cheese dressing ground beef with spaghetti sauce and parmasean cheese I'm working from home today and this is when I usually get into trouble b/c I have so much food right under my nose. I'm boiling some eggs now to make devil eggs later on. I really need to drink more water, I use to get all of my water in at work and only drink diet soda/crytal light at home. Gotta get back to that regimen. Is anyone exercising? |

I am SO glad to find this thread! You all are so inspiring! I'm new here at LCF's and just finding my way around.
The low carb my way plan is exactly what I'm doing. I've been following Dukan since the 5th of Jan and am down 17 lbs, but there are certain things that just don't work long term with that plan. I've kind of been moderating it on my own for the past couple weeks and still lost a few more lbs. Low carb my way is definitely a livable, life long plan! ![]() I look forward to reading about everyone's success! ![]() Lori 221.5/205/160 |

Welcome Lori! you have done really well so far, kutgw and post on here often.
kim do you only drink lemon water or do you drink plain water on top of your 64oz lemon water? Went swimming for the first time last week in over 5 years. love it!! really tired me out but i enjoyed every minute. Going again tonight. Going to try and do that once a week. Other days am going to try and walk more but even something simple and easy like that i don't do as much as i should x |
