NEW MOTIVATION

seriously.

I got my eye on the prize.

all cause I leave tomorrow for a beach trip for 4 days.

I tried on my shorts, capri pants and NONE FIT. too big !!
and my funky vacation t-shirts are huge.

giant pile to goodwill

I managed to find 2 pairs smaller shorts and 1 pair capri pants smaller size. ones I had when thinner. at least I got those to take

big pile of clothes leaving the house.

I want to shop but won't. I got the itch now.

end of May I go for 10 days to florida beach. that is my goal now. lose lose and lose more weight as I can before end of may for that trip. then a week before I will shop and have a blast buying new stuff.

everyone get in your closet and try things on again. it is mind blowing how fast the clothes get too big! great new motivator for sure for me.

That's awesome! Glad you found a few things that fit though! As soon as I get completely unpacked I am going to go through the closet too. Have a great time at the beach!

Question for you guys - I'm having a very low carb day today because tomorrow will be a very high carb today for me, and I plan to take a few days to work tomorrow's carbs off but, for today, is 10 carbs way too low? I'm high on protein and fat, but my carbs have never been that low.

I don't think it is harmful. Are you talking net or total? I wouldn't stay that low for an extended period as it would probably mean no veggies but I think it should be fine once in a while.

Net, and it's just today - was kind of shocked when I plugged it into my online nutrition tracker that it was only 10 carbs total. Definitely will not make it a habit, but I've experienced not losing because of eating too little. Hopefully this will be okay.

Hi Ladies!!
How have you all been....I started doing JUDDD 3/12 and not really keeping it LC..Im glad to say I can EASILY maintain that way..even lost a few more lbs 167 as of Friday but ready to see some new lows(I REALLY want the 150s)..reinducting in the AM so will be posting here more.
Going to do a clean 2 weeks and see if I can knock of a few more lbs before settling for slower JUDDD losses.Im glad I can eat carbs and maintain and even lose a bit,but I still got at least 15lbs to go.Glad to see you all are still here.
Sounds like the cruise didnt hurt you at all Misti-those lbs flew off!
Congrats on needing smaller clothes Karen, thats such a great NSV!!
Glad you found us Nanner

Thanks for the welcomes and congratulations! Back on the wagon today - did not do too bad yesterday until it came to dessert, but my motto is I am not going to deprive myself on special occasions or I will come to resent this WOE. I'm back at it and ready to work off what damage I did and am starting exercise this week - week 3.

Kim - you're doing great and love your avi!! Have fun at the beach, Trigger - jealous!! Snow covered up here still.

Have a great day everyone!

Woo hoo...down to 258 today. My official goal for April is to be down to 250, my but hoped for goal is 245. Being only 13 lbs. away on April 2 makes that a possibility, hopefully!

Yesterday was a tough day at work and I had only a 10 minute lunch (peanuts and a few bite of pork carnitas I made in the crockpot on Sunday) and got dehydrated, so last night was kind of a mess. I grazed most of the evening, even had a few tortilla chips, and drank lots of fluids. But the scale is down this morning, so I am happy in the end. Brought an Atkins meals for lunch today so even if I only have a few minutes I will have something a little more balanced for lunch today.

Today's plan
B - Atkins Advantage shake
L - Atkins chicken alfredo meal, some mixed nuts
D - not sure, I made a list this weekend but I forgot what I put on it! Probably either chicken thighs or a ground beef dish, plus a veggie

Hi everyone, been absent for the last week now, not been on plan so havent been on here much. Back on it today though.

Nanner i am right with you about deprive myself. Especially as i want this time to be a lifestyle change and not a diet. As if i think its just a diet and i end up cheating one day that will be it and i will end up gaining every single lb ive lost and be at below bottom of where i was before. So i allow if i do end up eating off plan because its a forever way of eating i will go back to eating low carb because i know it works for me.

Currently im at 293.7lbs. About 2lbs higher than at the start of March but March has been a bad eating month for me. Been off plan as much or same as the amount of days i was on plan. Hoping April will be alot better.

Good luck everyone x

I have been lurking for a while. I am low-carbing for health and hopefully weight loss but more concern about health (blood sugar control). I have low carbed for awhile off and on and have gone from 270 to present of 177. I just don't want to stress if I want some brown rice or if I eat off in a day.

So I was excited to see this thread of doing it my way cause that is where I am today and believe that is the only way it will end up being a life time change for me. No restarting just continuing. I loose slowly so my goal for April is 175. I would love to be at 165 in June for grandbaby graduation

So with all that said, May I join you guys?

Welcome, Jazzy, and good for you on your almost-100 lb loss!!

Kim, you're the first person I've ever seen who eats hot dogs with ketchup and sour cream - love that combination! Guess what I'm having for lunch?? You can reach that goal - my goal is to get out of the 240's in the next 2 weeks and would love to see 235 by the end of April. I like the idea of setting a goal at the beginning of the month!

Focus, I am right with you on making this a lifestyle change! I have wanted to do that for so long, and I get into the rut of eating bad foods and it takes such a long time to get back on track. If I just allow those bad foods once in a blue moon to get it over with and just focus on getting right back on track, I think this will be so much more doable.

Good luck to us all!

I'm pretty excited - received my Netrition order today! I got LC brownies, LC chocolate chip cookies, pancake mix (all by Big Train), sugar free syrup and sugar free strawberry preserves! I'm also going to order the Big Train mocha mix which makes excellent frappucinos for 2 carbs - helps me replace my coffee. I'm excited to try these things, but I'm not going to do it this week as I know I went up from Easter and have to get back down before indulging in some LC treats. Have any of you tried these yet?

I have some of the Big Train pancake mix for my son but I haven't made it yet. It's too high carb for me. Which SF syrup and preserves did you buy? I have tried Walden SF maple syrup and it is ok but my son likes Smucker's better (we get it at the grocery store).

Here's what's in my cart right now:

Capella flavor drops, coconut and pineapple - these are unsweetened. I have tried the eggnog and it is good.

EZ-Sweetz Liquid Sucralose, 0.5 oz. 1 drop is equal to 2 teaspoons sugar! I don't use it a lot but it does come in handy sometimes.

LifeSource Foods Oat Fiber 500, 2 of these. It is used to make the Fantastic Flour Mix (a.k.a. Better than Flour) found in the Recipes forum (need a few other speciality ingredients for it as well)

Sensato Coconut Flour, though I may switch back to Bob's Red Mill, which is a bit more expensive.

Stevita Liquid Stevia Extract, Clear, 1.35 oz. (2 of these - both DH and I like it).

ChocoPerfection Bars, Variety Pack, haven't tried these before but they sound good.

A few other things I haven't tried yet, such as low carb pasta (Dreamfields and Fiber Gourmet), some low carb/sugar-free granolas and Joseph's Middle East Bakery Lavash and Pita breads. Not sure I will keep all of those in there, they are all for my son to try and help him switch to lower carb/lower glycemic index foods. I won't eat them myself.

25 lbs. in a month and a half is great! Your body probably just needs a while to catch up. I like to think of the weight loss is a desired side effect of eating healthier, rather than the goal in and of itself. Many health problems are caused by diet rather than weight specifically. It is also possible you are not eating enough calories and your body recognizes that and is trying to hang on to the weight you do have. Do you have an idea how may calories you are eating a day? You might also want to post this in the Main Lowcarb Lobby as I am sure there are plenty of people there who would have encouragement and ideas for you.

Hey everyone!!

had a successful first day back on 100% clean low carb eating yesterday. Been struggling to get that one good day under my belt as the carb monster always creeps its way in during the day somehow

Welcome jazzyv57 and bickbch!!

Jazzyv57 you have done amazingly well, can i ask how long it took you to lose all that weight? i would like to be a much lower number by the summer. March was the only month i didnt lose but gained weight but not going to let it put me off course.

Bickbch 25lbs is wonderful result, you will keep losing weight just need to be persistent!! Do you count carbs or calories or anything?

I am starting to watch my carb count, I have noticed when i eat 30g of carbs or less i tend to lose weight, anymore and i either stall or gain. Should i make sure i eat a certain amount of calories too?

I am real curious about the fantastic flour. Have anybody used it? Do it perform like regular flour? Does it cause any stalls?

I don't want to spend money and then can't use the items.

Good Morning All

I wish I could stop weighing every morning but I am toooooo addicted to that scale . So this morning I am down .8. Pretty happy because I
thought I would be up after eating too much sugar-free cake and strawberries.

4/2 - 177.8
4/3 - 177

April Goal -172

So I was excited to see this thread of doing it my way cause that is where I am today and believe that is the only way it will end up being a life time change for me. No restarting just continuing. I loose slowly so my goal for April is 175. I would love to be at 165 in June for grandbaby graduation

So with all that said, May I join you guys?
Hi,Glad you have joined us.Quick question, your stats have your highest weight at 207 but this post says 270...either way a nice loss but thought you might want to adjust your starting weight to 270 and claim the lossif that was your high point.
