Happy family day everyone!
Sorry I've been away skiing up in Kelowna (as you can see by my new profile pic!). So my workouts were skiing and skating for hours every day. But usually I play ice hockey 1x/week, skate another time with the kids, do home floor exercises 2x/week (pushups, situps, squats, etc) and I'm adding 2x60 min session at the gym when I have time (the university gym now that I am taking FT classes). Hubby and I did a juice fast once - we actually enjoyed it. Felt like we were cleaning out the pipes...DH lost 11 lbs in 6 days and kept 7-8 lbs off.

In the user panel, the ski trip pic shows...I dunno what is up with that...
V-day was laid back here, we both worked and just ordered a pizza & put the boys to bed early. Dh is willing to try cauli-rice for the first time tonight! Big step for him, LOL. I am going to try to get the kids to eat it too. This would go a long way to reducing all the extra meals I have to prepare. |

Sorry I've been MIA .... home computer is fried again and because we are in the middle of moving the office .... IT guy can't even look at it until first week of March and my tickets for the Heart concert in Penticton were in it .... I hadn't printed them or done a back up because my computer had just been repaired
![]() Yes, I am working on Sunday. I'm still not caught up from when I was covering for my employee who was sick. Deb ~ I've been doing Leslie Sansone "Walk Away the Pounds" 3 miles. Of course, I can only get to 1 mile but I've got something to work towards. How was the potluck? Deanne ~ Nice photo. I have also never tried the cauli-rice.

Cindy said she never made cauli-rice so I'll answer if that is okay
?I use my food processor to turn the rice in little pellets that resemble rice (I use the hard grater). The I put it in a bowl with lid (you can use cling wrap if you don't have a suitable lid) and micro for 4-7 mins depending on whether I am using the whole head of cabbage or just a portion. No water! We used to eat TONS of rice. Curry chicken over rice, stir fries over rice, etc...so we can still use all those favorites recipes over cauli-rice. I also took my fave pasta recipe and eat it over cauli-rice (roasted red peppers, tomatoes, chorizo, garlic, onions & seasonings in olive oil)... |

You can just use a regular grater - just be careful with your fingers!!
I have done that before too. |

yikes, that knuckle sounds nasty!!!
![]() I find the designs a lot better these days - we love our little IKEA grater/cup/storage set thing. No snow here - POURING rain at times tho. Yesterday was gorgeous. The upside of the rain is that is getting warmer. |

It was snowing again this morning and seemed colder than the past few days. Apparently there is a snowfall warning for the Highway. I'm glad that I'm not driving to the coast.

During my training for the longest hockey game, I discovered a love of running. But I have ONLY done it on the treadmill!! I had little babies and couldn't leave the house...now I have no time.
But someday... |

Hello from Ontario ! To be more specific, hello from the Ottawa area.
We are supposed to get another dumping of snow next week. I'm totally exhausted and tired of this winter. Every second day it seems to snow - and lots of it. I have done low-carb before and was quite successful. Cannot quite pinpoint as to the reason why I didn't continue. But, I'm back again and although it is coming off slowly, it is working. For any of you who eat the Atkins bars, they are on sale this week at the Real Canadian Superstore. Savings of around $3.00/box. Hope to get to know all of you better !

I think it's the difference between loving the big city life or not. I could live in a big city, but I grew up in a town of 10k 3 miles from Halifax... so it sucked. Nanaimo is about 80k last I checked, and a hop over to downtown Vancouver in 15 mins or an hour drive to Victoria. Can't beat that.
