It is easy for me to joke, when I am so miserable and uncomfortable. When the heck is that lightbulb going off in my head to get serious and stop this insanity!!

where they run a scope down your throat. I know what is wrong with me, have had this problem for years, had an EGD done about 7 or 8 years ago, but my insurance won't pay for my acid reflux medicine anymore until I have one done. Stupid. And they wonder why insurance is so high.
I'm by myself this weekend too. Dh has to work Saturday and he's going to some class to get his conceal and carry permit, so he'll be gone most of the day Sunday too. Have to clean the house and do laundry, but thinking about starting to paint my hallway. Still white from when we moved in 11 years ago. I know what I want to do with it, but some cracks have appeared in our sheetrock so have been putting it off because I didn't know how to fix that. I found out how on the internet, so am thinking of at least starting it this weekend.

I have been waiting for it to cool down and it is suppose to be lower 70's so...... |

Yeah, it took alot of work - touching up the walls and the door and the trim. The fumes killed me so I had to take breaks - the grout was the toughest.
I plan on replacing that floor during the year so I wasn't too upset but all in all, it looks fine. Just my weekend sucked............ I am dangerous when I am by myself................. ![]() Ok - I am on today, will weigh tomorrow - forgot today. Oh, yeah!!! Got nail polish all over my scale too and may have screwed it up when I went to clean it - |

EMERALD ISLE SOUP
1/4 cup leeks or onions, chopped, about 3/4 ounce 1-2 tablespoons butter 16 ounces frozen broccoli 2 cups chicken broth, homemade preferred Salt and pepper, to taste 1 cup heavy cream Pinch nutmeg, optional Sauté the leek or onions in the butter in a medium saucepan until tender. Add the frozen broccoli, broth and a bit of salt and pepper. Bring to a boil; cover and simmer until the broccoli is very tender, about 10 minutes. Puree in a blender or with a stick blender until smooth and thick. Stir in the cream and blend well. Adjust seasoning and add nutmeg, if desired. Reheat if necessary. Makes about 6 servings Freezing not recommended Per Serving: 204 Calories; 19g Fat; 5g Protein; 5g Carbohydrate; 2g Dietary Fiber; 3g Net Carbs I was thinking you could probably add cheese to this as well and make a really yummy broccoli cheddar soup!! Or switch out the broccoli with cauliflower!! YUMMO, would be like cheesy potato soup! Even add a little bacon crumbles. Ok, making myself hungry. LOL ![]() |

I forgot to weigh again - not sure my scale is working -
But I plan to get on tomorrow, definitely. I am going to a personal trainer (a friend of mine actually) at 12 noon today - see how it works out during my lunch hour. She has some exercises for my leg issues plus we will do weight, etc. She has a New Year's special - 3 classes for $99.00 - I will do 3 and see how it goes - every Tuesday at 12 How is the soup? B -2 hb eggs L - burger w/lc soup D - Omelette S - blueberries/strawberries/walnuts - just a handful

well I weighed this morning, keeping in mind that I have not been good, I weighed 216.5. So I am down 3 pounds from a week ago, but still up 2 from 2 weeks ago.
Anyhoo.... I set up a goal sheet and figured out from my current weight starting this Friday and ending when I go to Alabama the 3rd week of May, I took my typical losses if I am very good and stay completely on plan(not figuring in exercise)......and first month usually my loss is 20 lbs, then 10 pounds after that(2.5 per week, very doable). So by May 17, my goal will be 166.5. I then took it a little further and by the end of August, my goal would be 129. This is if everything goes perfect and I have no cheats AND I lose like I have in the past. I know it will be very difficult to be cheat free, but I have to do this and I've done it before so I know it is possible. Looking at that on paper really gave me incentive. How I would soooo love to be there before next Fall!!! Just keep thinking how much more comfortable I would be this summer too. |

I took a picture of this sheet with my phone so I can refer back to it without having to drag a piece of paper around with me. I'm ready to do this!

Wow, 129? You must be small framed? I would settle for like 160- I would be 9/10 and very happy about it. So that is about 35-40lbs.
My scale is not working but I ordered one online this am from Amazon Doing good this week, not 100% but much better than I have been. I know I gained like 6 lbs from Christmas and lost 2 of it - not sure if I lost any more. I want to lose those 4 and then that will be my starting weight - (I know, sounds a little crazy) I would just love to get into the 180's - I think that would be huge motivation for me - I get so close, gotten to like 192 and then screw it up./ So, even if it is just us two, WE CAN DO THIS!!! |

small framed, big boned
big boobs![]() I talked to my daughter about it at lunch and told her what I did on paper. She said oh my gosh, you'd weigh what I do. The least I remember weighing was when I was in 9-11 grade, I weighed 129. Then was upward from there. I got down to 140 after my first dh passed away when I was 21 through about 23, then since then have yo-yo'd up and down. The past 3 years I have weighed more than ever. I have to break this cycle. |

I think you are pushing it at 129, 140 sounds much more reasonable. You may even feel okay at 145
![]() As we get older, our high school weight unfortunately becomes a thing of the past. (For me, anyway) My youngest weighs like 120. Daneille is big boned like me and she weighs about 155 right now and looks great. I think we should get to our goal weight and next time you come to Florida, we try to meet!!! ![]() |

I think for my height and build it says I should weigh 135. I would be fine with 140 though. I felt wonderful when I got to 140. I'm pretty short, only 5'4. Not really big boned, pretty medium.
That sounds like fun! |

Hi Tasha and Cheryl
Remember me?I am SOOOOO HAPPY I have found you guys again!!! I feel like I've just found a couple friends that I haven't seen for awhile! Hello to Danielle also and hope you're feeling better. I started back low-carbing on Jan. 3rd and am feeling really committed....still-and it's been almost 3 weeks so that's good! I joined a gym last November and was going about 3x/week and using their cardio machines. I decided to sign up for a few sessions with a Personal Trainer this month. I really loved doing weights when I got back into shape after a couple of my pregnancies (way back when), but thought I'd better get someone who could get me started on the right protocol etc. And so I don't do something stupid like hurt myself trying! ![]() My dh decided to join me in Low-carbing so I have bought a few recipe books and of course, reading the recipe threads here to get some good ideas and inspirations for yummy recipes. Seems like low-carb eating has lots of possibilities, they're just not as readily available when I'm really busy and out and about. Any of my weight loss I had accomplished back in August quickly came back, and then some, over the next few months. ![]() I have lost about 8 lbs since I started on Jan. 3rd, but I do seem to be slowing down a bit now. I WISH I could have lost 20# my first month like you said you do Tasha, but I'm back to slow and steady already. I am thankful that I'm still heading downward though. I thought that I'd give myself until Lent starts and see how much I can lose before making more radical (stricter) changes to my diet. I like being able to check in with you guys so we can keep each other motivated and have someone to chat with about all this stuff! Talk to you soon! Michele p.s. I just joined a weight loss challenge at the gym, and we're weighing once a week. I think it goes for about 3 months. I'm weighing at home during the week, so I can keep myself accountable. |

Michelle!!!
so glad you found us too!!!!![]() I wish I had to $$ right now to join a gym. I think if I had someplace to be/go, I would be more apt to do it, kinda like tanning(although I haven't decided if I'm doing that this year or not??? ). I have a treadmill and just had a tv installed over it and tonight is my first night actually walking on it for over 3 years. SO>>> wish me luck Today's menu: B: bacon L: salad with ranch(lettuce, cheese, broccoli, eggs, bacon) D: chicken packets with veggies 01/23 216.5 01/23 216.0 I'm going to try and start weighing(if I can remember ) every day so I can track my fluctuations and also see the history. Sometimes when I do this and I don't think I've done very well, I can look back at the beginning of a month and say, oh, I've actually done pretty good since the first of the month. Have a great Monday, Michelle, so glad you're back with us!! Cheryl, how was your night, how's the trainer thing going? Danielle.....wheeeeere aaaaare yoooooou??????? |

Did I mention that my weight loss was SLOW and steady? OMG! Yesterday, I was at the gym exercising (cardio and then weights) for almost an hour and a half and still, this morning; ONLY 2/10 of a pound lost. I probably need to re-look at my food.
Although it's all pretty darn "low carb", I think I need to reevaluate every little thing. I don't have time to waste, I have to go dress shopping for my dd's wedding May 25. I'm hoping to put it off until the end of March, beginning of April but i have the mother of the groom wondering what I'm wearing. Hope you felt good after the treadmill Tasha! I'm enjoying working out and hope I can keep a positive attitude. But I know I'd feel a lot better if I could see a more rapid weight loss!Friday should be a great day!!! .....I hope! |
