I actually tried to weigh yesterday ( I honestly haven't had time to eat much this week, DD's have been fairly easy). Dang scale was low battery. I will weigh in again next week. Hoping I'm down in the 160's again!

Oh Monica! What's wrong? What's causing all this stress? Is there anything we can do?
I certainly wouldn't worry about a few lbs now. Let's get whatevers bothering you fixed up and then we can worry about the 160s.

I am feeling a little better today. I stayed home again because it's still not busy at work and it is back down to neg. -40 degrees today. Me and the dogs didn't want to go to work anyway.

No plans here for the weekend. Certainly not going out at these temps unless I have to.

Take care ladies.

PS Monica!!!!! I'm so worried about you!!!!!!

I am much better thank you. I went and did a bit of grocery shopping since it warmed up today. It is a blistering -30 today.
Enjoy your slumber party Monica. I think that is just what the doctor ordered for you to relax and regroup. Have a blast!

I sure hope Haven enjoys her father/grandfather dance. That sounds like something you would remember the rest of your life. I miss my dad. I lost him when I was just 18. I'm sure Haven will cherish these moments forever.

Hi girls-missed you yesterday-the hubs and I went shopping out of town to Sams club-he needed some things-of course we had to check out a new Chinese buffet! I caved-not too many things there I could eat-that started me off eating again for the entire day! I did the whole month of January without caving-so now I am back on today but I really blew it yesterday-don't know why I make such a glutton of myself when I do fall off? I am a total idiot at times!

Monica-glad you are having a good time with your family and friends-sounds like it is what was needed after a stress filled week! I hope we get to see pics of Haven dressed up for the dance? sounds so lovely!

Michelle-glad you stayed home Friday-I am sure you needed it! surprised you felt like getting out actually-but glad you did!

I am cooking ribs today-have a lowcarb recipe to try out-hope they are good! I do need to go and grab a couple of things first-we didn't get everything yesterday-the town was so crowded-everyone was out shopping-it was like Christmas time-crowded and hard to move around-the hubs hates crowds like that so we really didn't do much-two stores and home-he isn't a shopper! I like to spend the day when I go out of town!

My scale won't move

Hi, I'm new to this site and still trying to figure out how to post and find what I need. I liked the "challenge" idea. I started induction one week ago and have lost 3 pounds. I'm being very strict (no cheating) and the scale has not moved (except UP one pound!!!!) in the last four days. What gives? I'm getting aggravated and losing my motivation. Any ideas on what I can do to get the scale moving in the right direction?

Welcome Ang01! Don't despair. Why not give us a sample of the menus you have been following. Maybe we'll spot the culprit. Are you drinking water? Diest sodas? Let us know.

Jeanne---Hope the ribs turn out good. If so I want the recipe. Don't sweat yesterday's error in judgement. It will probably shake up the metabolism and you will end uo losing bigtime. But remember, it's not about a single meal or day, it's about the big picture of eating well and feeling better.

Hello girls-well the scale this morning wasn't pretty-I can't blame anyone but myself! I am back on plan but one whole day sure made a dent in my getting closer to the 160s! I also had a high blood sugar yesterday-made me open my eyes super wide! not a good thing for this body either! so I better wake up and behave-everyday and not fall off the temptation wagon! I didn't NEED to eat the desserts at the buffet! and continue to eat off plan after I got home either! duh!

well the ribs were delish-I have a real problem with tough ribs and these were falling off the bone! I will post the link Michelle-hang tight.

Monica-how was the dance? and your weekend? sounded super-hope you got some rest and peaceful time-you needed it girlfriend-hope this week is better for you!

Ang-hang in there-you will make it-just stay the course and you will lose-the body will lose fat and not show on the scale-lots of adjustments going on-get a pair of tight jeans and make those your comparison jeans-they will tell the true story--you will lose inches instead of showing pounds on the scale! just stay the course!! this diet is one of inches!

I am really trying to learn my own lessons-I know this is the way to eat-even one day off plan made me feel miserable-so I am back eating correctly!

dr pepper ribs | Search Results | Grace2882

I did the DR Pepper ribs and the Emeril Essence rub--they were delish-the rub really had a lot of spice-but I survived it! I might do a little less spice next time but I enjoyed them just like they were-I had a lot of rub left over and pint of sauce left over for later-I cooked my sauce down quite a bit and put a lot on the ribs-they were done when they came out of the oven!

Sorry to hear of the gain Jeanne. One day you and I and millions of others will smarten up. We know how it hurts and we know what it means and we do it anyways! Mind boggling. That's when you know carbohydrates are as addictive as drugs. Well my friend let's just get up and dust off and try again. New start 1,475,652 right? At least we have each other.

Here's Haven with my parents! They had a great time! We had a great weekend, but man am I tired! I fell asleep watching the superbowl last night at 8:45! Loved chatting with the girls all night Saturday night. There was some snacks and WINE! Loved it! Ended up having an up day yesterday too, today should have been a DD, but I needed my rotations to stay the same! Controled up day here!

Jeanne - move on girl! You can do this. Your ribs sound amazing and my family LOVES ribs! I may have to try what you suggested!

Michelle - so glad you are feeling better and you had such a BALMY warm day! how is the weather looking there this week?

Ang - welcome to our group! If you just started and were down a solid 3, maybe stay off the scale a couple days. I find it best to only weigh in once a week! Daily flux can about make a person lose their mind!

Oh Monica---I never thought Haven could look more beautiful then some of the other pictures you have posted of her in the past, but I was wrong. She is gorgeous. Soon you are going to have to beat those boys off with a stick. She is growing up real fast!

OHHH-what a lovely picture! Haven is so pretty-I think she gets prettier every picture I see-she is just a natural pretty! love the dress and the wrist corsage! I bet your Dad loves this! I could never see my Dad doing this-he was such a home hermit--I love that your family is so close!! you and your Mom and Haven all look the same-the same pretty face and mouth and smile! I bet you are tired-I didn't do all that you did and I feel asleep in my recliner today-I never do that!

We are having ribs for dinner! I made two racks-I always make double stuff when I can so I don't have to cook so often! and it is so worth it when you have a big eater in the house!

I am hungry again trying to get back into ketosis but I will survive the next couple of days-if you play you pay! I need to bake tomorrow-I have the last piece of coconut pie I will eat tonite so tomorrow is a baking day for sure! I have to have something sweet baked up and ready to keep me on the straight and narrow! anything good you have tried Michelle?

Funny you mention baking. I just made these flourless brownies that are to die for if you like chocolate. The recipe called for coconut palm sugar so I subbed xylitol and sweetzefree and it is marvelous. Does something like that interest you. Oh and it was easy. The hard part was waiting for it to cool down.

Thanks Michelle for the recipe! I have errands to run today and I hope I can fit in enough time to bake! I was so exhausted yesterday-after falling asleep in my recliner yesterday afternoon-I did the same thing last evening and missed out on a couple of hours of tv watching-so I went to bed and slept all night--unusual for me! all the nights of staying up have evidently caught up with me? very unusual for me to nap!

How did the brownies turn out Michelle?

later girls

Michelle you are too kind. For the event, she had her hair done, nails done and they put on some make up! Michelle that brownie looks amazing!!!! Indeed, how did they turn out??

Jeanne - Funny thing is, I'm not sure my DAD would have taken me to something like that. It's the times, they are changing! You were tired girl. So glad you slept and slept a lot! Nice isn't it???

Yesterday was a good up Day! Was hungry this morning so I ate my cottage cheese a few minutes ago. Hoping I can manage the hunger the rest of the day!

those hungries are calling my name too Monica-I just barely escaped buying a box of donuts for myself and eating the whole box--I just came from the grocery store-I usually buy the hubs two boxes of donuts when I go and this time I had my mind on buying me a box of sour cream donuts that I love--I could eat them all before he came home and you know the story--but I didn't even go down that aisle and buy any for him--it was hard--I am still not in ketosis from the other day and I sure am fighting my urges! I don't do well being out of it--I get into trouble! but I made it today-hopefully tomorrow I will be more under control! this is why I need to keep something baked lol!

Those brownies are YUMMY!!!!!!! They are very rich and chocolatey, I need to put a bit of whipped cream on them to cut the richness a bit. But I am not complaining! I highly recommend them.

I am going to have to make them-I whipped up some lemon fat bombs real fast in order to have something sweet just to have fast--so tomorrow I will have to bake for sure! glad to have a review of the brownies! I love chocolate!

Michelle-what sweetener and how much did you use? I am not good at judging.

I used a blend of xylitol and sweetzfree. Whatever you use, you just need it to add up to a cup of sugar. What sweetner(s) do you usually use?

I have been using more erythritol and sweetzfree-I do have some xylitol but hate using it because it is so dangerous for Dolly--I am scared about her getting something with it in it since Bill is so prone to feeding her! I am not thrilled with the lemon fat bombs I made this evening--I won't be making those again-but I have 30 of those to tolerate and eat now-hopefully they will be better after freezing? I will stick with the chocolate almond ones!

well--time for me to head to bed-I was able to stay awake today --yesterday was just weird-so I need to make tomorrow productive-I did a few errands today-that seems to throw my day of getting things done around the house off.. nite girls!

I agree with the xylitol. I know it is dangerous to my puppies, but Marcel never eats "my" baking and almost never feeds the dogs anything. So I feel pretty safe. I usually use erythritol too, but I have a big bag of xylitol I want to use up, since it is so expensive.

How are you feeling Michelle-any repercussions from the fall? I imagine you are still feeling the pain? I still am not able to cross my leg without knowing that hip is different! I hope it changes but it is what it is.

How about you Monica--the stress any better this week? I hope so-I know working and caring for a family is tough!

I am thinking about making crack slaw today-Need to get busy and get some ground chuck out of the freezer if I am going to do that-btw-the hubs said the ribs just improved each day-I am loving finally having a great recipe for ribs-we have tried and tried to find a good one that is legal and tender! It took me long enough!

have a great day ladies!

Michelle - I want to make those brownies too! I think I may whip up a batch tomorrow night. Heck , maybe tonight. We have a mess of an evening tonight. Plus I want to get the supplies to make Haven a Volleyball knotted fleece blanket. She has indicated she would love one and I thought I would give it to her for Valentines. I need to go get the stuff for it tonight!

Jeanne - work is still crazy. I worked 13+ hours yesterday! I finally at 9:00 p.m. last night said, ENOUGH! Thank goodness I can work from home! I got a TON of stuff processed. Not sure my assistant was pleased this morning. I had it all invoiced an on her desk for copying and matching by the time she came in this morning! Probably not at all what she expected! I love Crack slaw. We make it often and don't use a lot of the heavy stuff and load it with veggies. I just use a dallop of sour cream and then some cheese. When you cut it down into servings, it acutally is low calorie. DH and I love having it ready for a DD quick meal!

I need ADVICE! I found a place that does a timeline personal unique picture with ideas you give them. Here is what they came up with. I am thinking for Dennis for Valentine's day. The only thing I emailed and asked if they could change is the last one of "Dennis and I" I asked if they could just do away with the characters and just do it all in words.

What do you think? Dennis loves this kind of unique stuff. It displays our 3 cruises, our New York City trip for New Year's Eve , our San Franscico Trip last year, our kids and then us. THOUGHTS?????

I didn't mention, Monday night T and I went shopping for him to buy Aimee a valentine's gift! Poor guy! He had NO CLUE! We finally decided on a stuff Lion (that looked identical to our High Schools mascot) a small box of chocolates and a card. He was like, MOM I really have no idea what to get! I think they are "going out" for Valentine's on Friday the 15th! He plans to buy her dinner and go to the movie! How FUN< right?????
