Sorry, BC, we posted @ the same time. Yes, the grill plates (both top & bottom) have 2 handles on each side and latches to remove and then lock back in place. Very easy to do, even without much hand strength.

Took DS and Gf out to eat mexican food - I had a chicken fajita taco salad with no shell. DH and I rode around some - DS is looking for a house to rent or buy in the area. Overcast and cool here.

Fireplace going, DH and Allie on couch watching football. Life is Good

(except my stinking back is hurting again for last 2 days . What a pain......)

Hope you all are having a relaxing Sunday !

Laura, we have a fire going also in our woodstove. I had a whole wheat grilled cheese and tomato soup. Spent the day doing genealogy work and watching our Texans lose their playoff game. But we enjoyed their season.

Hope your back gets better soon. As a mom and grandmom, I'm tempted to give you lots of home remedy suggestions, but I'm sure a nurse knows all of those and better ideas, too!

Deb, how was the ham and pea soup? Sounded delicious!

Stay cozy, y'all!

Well, I've had 2 back surgeries in the past and I think it's the scar tissue causing muscle spasms. When it "goes out" it is really painful ;/ I have to be able to work , so we baby it ~~ can't really think of anything I've done to make it act up. but thanks for worrying about it.

Your supper sounds yummy Tx ! Very much comfort food

Deb I bet your soup was good too.....

i just ate some grapes and a handful of peanuts. Got the munchies and don't know what I want.

Had a great weekend, now doing chores all day. Got a big pot of spaghetti sauce made for dinner tonight.

I heard from Christina and she's been really busy, she working for her nutrionist and starts training for a new job that sounds fantastic, I'm so happy for her. She said once things get organized and get some time, she'll be back.

Laura ss your back is still hurting, I sure know what that's like. I hurt my back years ago and when it acts up I can hardley walk. I have pain pills but they really don't work. Hope DS finds a nice place he likes. Is this the 1st time liveing out on his own? I miss our wood stove but had to get rid of it when DH got sick. Now I have a pellet stove and it stays running from fall to summer.

Tex I love homemade bread, sometimes my neighbor sends over a nice loaf fresh out of the oven and I always cut of a big piece with lots of butter and indulge.

Deb I just made a batch of pea soup with ham. I had 2 ham bones in the freezer from christmas. Then I eat some that day and then freeze it. Tastes better the next time I have it. Today I made a weird soup from all my left overs. It was so good, and I know I'll never remember how to make it again.

What type of surgeries did you have Laura? I am trying the injection route- I don't want to ruin my quality of life (recouping from surgery). I want to be able to get a shot and go on.. you know what I mean?

misty glad you checked in and are doing ok.

Yeah , back is still sore, but i walked 2 miles earlier and it helped some. I usually take motrin and muscle relaxers and use my heating pad. Pain pills make me super nauseated.

Glad you are enjoying your soup.

I had a lumbar laminectomy on L4-L5 - ruptured disk and then it re-ruptured 6 months later and I had to do it again. Have had pain ever since that 2nd surgery. Lots of scar tissue.....;/

DH wants me to see someone and see if there is something they can do, but I'm not sure I want another procedure. If they were pretty sure it would help a lot , I would do it. It's no fun when it locks up.
Since 2nd surgery I can't run, ride horses, ski ( never got the chance before I hurt my back :/ ), work in flower beds,.etc.........real bummer

Have you tried the injections? they have so many types, as well as a new nerve killer- some type of perm nerve burner that blocks certain areas of pain for good

Yes Lory, I tried the injections a few times. didn't help........ Kinda scared with my history of rupturing the disks, that if I numb up the nerve so I don't feel pain, I would hurt myself by overdoing it . Does that make sense ??

Yes, it does- Before this darn BC I would have jumped on surgery- Now, I am looking for pain relief on a month to month basis. I have cervical herniation, compression of nerves from 1 buldging disc, and severe narrowing of my spinal cannal- lower spine shows severe DDD, moderate to severe stenosis, what they call diffuse DJD, moderate to severe ostioarthritis, as well as 2 buldging discs. My bone scan last week, showed even worse diagnosis that my xray and MRI- I just want to feel no pain without surgery. Getting the weight off is the first start, but I need to releive the pain to exercise- It's a vicious circle

I am the passenger, and the seat is heated.. mm love me some heat- many breaks and pain killers- I wanted my own, but with my neck that is not happening. I stray from anything I know will cause me to be in more pain. I know that more than a few times in the past year, I have had to upp my meds to enjoy my day, week etc. Our riding partners know I have pain issues, and will need more breaks along our rides. I am hoping that injections will alleviate at least 40% of my pain for the Canada trip. Taking pain killers makes me brain stupid.

Lory wow your bike sounds so nice with heated seats. Mine is older and extra, really rough riding on our county roads. When are you taking the trip to Canada.

I can't believe DH just brought home ice cream because he wants ice cream soda, one of my weeknesses. Not sure if I can resist having one. The ice cream is low carb.

Checking in to see how everyones doing, it's been quiet here lately. I got alot of snow today, so back to shoveling. But it's pretty warm out and actually pretty fluffy snow. Doing good on eating, scale is move down, so happy with that even though it's slow.

Hey gals - Busy week here. Lots going on after school, came home Monday with a major migraine. So as soon as I got the baby to bed, I went to bed as well. Yesterday I stayed for dinner with my parents, then the baby made quite the mess so home, tossed him in the tub. Put him to bed and then dived into my book.
Today I can actually go home at 3 DH is off today so I will get to see him for a change - I hate when he works nights.
We have icky slush here - wish we had some fluffy snow. I'm jealous Misty!

Off today, couldn't reschedule my appt I made months ago ! Beautiful day ! Will do a little shopping too

Weighed 142.4 this am. .... Keep going down, keep going down.....

DH and I have been on new schedule this week and it's going great. A friend wanted to trade days for my 12-12 shift tomorrow , so I will work a day shift tomorrow....... gotta make sure I go to sleep early. Hard for me ;?

Found some cabins in Ruidoso NM and told DH --"guess where we're going on Monday when we get off ?" He was so sweet, he said "ok whatever you want". And they accept pets, really cute place......gotta look up what there is to do around there........

Called yesterday and they said there is snow on the ground . I can't wait !

Last year was so hard, only went out of town for funerals pretty much and so stressful. I want to enjoy life and our new time together.

Hope you all have a wonderful day ! Everyone don't leave !....... no one is checking in.

Hey all - i am around. Have a sore throat and cough so stayed home yesterday and today. Finally got the christmas tree decorations all put away. Been doing little chores here and there. I've been neglecting a lot lately. My rents are away this weekend and no sunday school so with my cold lots of stay at hometime.

Laura - some time away sounds great!

So I gave in and am at the doctors. I was hoping rest alone would work, bit thus cough seems to be moving into my chest. Blah! Resting with a one year old is an oxymoron. LOL

Fell better quick Laura!

Goodmorning, so glad I don't have work this week, only house checks on Wednesday and that the day us girls go shopping. More snow coming today and it's been so darn cold.

Gab glad you went to the Drs. No school for you today so maybe you'll get a chance to rest a little more. I remember those days when my little ones where running around, yup no rest unless there sleeping

Laura ss your sick too. Hope it goes away fast and you get to take your trip. And wtg on the weight. The flu is going around here too. I'm trying to stay away from anyone that's not feeling good. Being that DH is immune surpressed I keep telling to be careful and stay away from the FD but he doesn't listen. Not much he can take when he gets sick.
