So quiet on our thread. Used to be I couldn't keep up from morning to noon to night Now, I am amazed that 24 hours go by with only a few posts. Hope everyone is well.

I've been busy between home and work. Sam's fighting a cold so that means extra laundry and more cuddling . Work is coming up on a busy season, my team has their tournament at the end of Feb so we've added more practices. It's also busy season when it comes to additonal paperwork for the state.

I still haven't gotten my tree down - need to do that tonight!

Just heard from Christina on FB, she's not upset about anything. Just busy....said she will get back here as soon as she can.

Woke up with a major migraine. really tired. Supposed to rain all weekend Wish we could leave town....... DH has an upper resp infection and feels bad,so that won't happen.

i cant beleive there are no casinos in TX

i love Vegas too..think we are booking the bus for xmas in Reno/Vegas

You know the casino in Washington we go to is just as nice as the ones in Reno..and only a short drive away.I cant wait to get the camper on the road and camp in the parking lot..so much fun and we get to meet other campers from all over the place.

Sounds wonderful. We need to get another camper...we sold ours several years ago and I would love to take off on our days off and piddle around.

You would take a bus all the way to Vegas ??

Haven't been to Reno, have a cabin saved on my "favorites" to rent one day if we go...3 bd --- if it was 1bd me and DH would go by ourselves, it's so nice and right on the water. <3

Just ran to town ...ok drove......and ran into the health food store, so excited they had psyllium husks and almond flour ! Just ran in and out. Didn't have to order the almond flour. There's a thread about using psyllium husks to make tortillas and everyone says they are super easy and taste wonderful ( not to mention all the fiber you get ) I can't wait to try them. I LOVE tortillas........and they will be great to take to work

Headache is better , but my neck is sooooo sore.

cloudy here and looks like the rain may start tonight. I hope not !

Laura, when I lived in Elko we would go to Reno for big shopping. When we go now, we stay at the Silver Legacy. This casino is attached to 4 other casinos in a Giant mall type setting. Reno is about 30 minutes from Lake Tahoe. On the South shore of Tahoe there are several casinos and a plethera of shopping and restaraunts. We scattered mom's and my stepdad's ashes up the mountain from there on family property.

DH and I had a cheap date night dinner/wine and a movie in! Thanks for asking. Today is BIG time football.. Today my Niners are playing in the division championship game. Then it's off to to the NFC Championship game-- then the Super Bowl!! I am on a positive high!!

Last year when the L/B and i stayed there we got lost...

had to find a outside exit...

made our way to the street...

Silly- all the hotels in that block have exits to the streets.. Just look for the casino entrances and you're golden.

y'all! Those casinos sound like fun! There are bus tours from Victoria (the "little big city" closest to Laura and me) up to the Louisiana casinos. I would love to go with my Red Hat group but some of us are afraid of the cigarette smoke that would be there. We have asthma and breathing problems. It's not something dh would like to do, but I think the trip with my "sisters" would be fun.

Laura, sorry you couldn't come today. Your body needed the rest, though, so it's good you listened to it. The demo turned out not to be as bad as I had feared. Some of the cut-ups from our pilates class got us to laughing so hard I could hardly keep the positions at times though!

Typical South Texas weather -- ac is on, but we are waiting for a "norther" -- otherwise known as a cold front to move in tonight. Supposed to get more rain, too!

We love our gf grill -- it's not that hard to clean, I wipe out the plates and the grease catch-tray with paper towels and stick them in the dishwasher. Easy as can be! And the green pea and ham soup in the crockpot tomorrow, Deb! Only prob is I would want to make pumpernickel bread to go with it!

Deb, homemade bread is a secret vice of mine although I try not to make it too often. Mostly I use "scratch" recipes but make it in the bread machine to save pain on arthritic hands. I love dark breads -- pumpernickel, rye, whole wheat so at least it's not as unhealthy as the "nasty ole white stuff!"
