one lady on here dumpster dives and gets meat thrown out by the store. It's freezing where she lives so the meat is still super cold !
I wanted to use some beef bones with my chicken bones, but i didn't . I will next time |

Hi all - i was surprised dh jumped in to be honest. I haven't been 100% happy with some issues we have been having. Ups and downs! I have to get up in a minute and change loads of laundry. Blech
Lory - prayers and fingers crossed! Deb - glad the man showed up. Misty - omgoodness! Brrrrr! I thought our barely in the 30s was cold this week! Laura -three cheers for a reasonable neat freak . Tex - you made me laugh how i am not exercising and you decribe what you have done as "easing" into it lol! I would be thrilled if i could get that much done each day. I know it is mostly a matter of just doing it!

I made it after reading a thread on here about it. I used a whole chicken , onions, celery tops, whole head of garlic cut in half , rosemary, salt and pepper.
Just threw it all in a crockpot and took the chicken out after about 4-5 hours and deboned it and threw the bones back in - skin and all - After 18 hours total I turned it off and cooled it down. Once cooler, I strained it and saved the dark rich broth. put in fridge and they say to skim off the fat that rises to the top and then you can drink the broth without it being greasy. I can't wait ! It smelled heavenly cooking.....

Down 1.2 lbs this am too !! Woot Woot for us ! Decided I'm not cooking today ~ tired of doing dishes ~ still have sausage/cabbage, southwestern soup, and a little bit of steak left. Trying to decide if I want to go shopping today and get out of the house ~ 1hr drive each way though ~ or just stay here and chill. ?? Will decide in a bit |

Good article ! Thanks Lory !
I also read on that thread that you can RE-USE the bones over and over...... never would have thought of that ...... They also say if you are hungry, drink a cup of the broth and your appetite will go WAY down...... will try that today before supper to see if it works |

Well, I lost 3 pounds overnight! Am happy I am keeping on track with everything going on. I have the ultrasound today, onco and neurologist next week. Just trying to keep it in the lines. I just need to keep on the water intake.
Deb, have they found your tenant yet? Gab, did you finally fall asleep at a decent hour? Laura, I would not cook with all those leftovers. Misty, are you still workign? Christina?????????????? |

Gab I hope you finally slept .....don't start being like me in that aspect
Lory congrats on 3 lbs !! Hope this week passes fast for you ! misty hope you enjoy your day off ! Mel - well, the closest town to go grocery shopping, walmart, is 20 minutes. But , to hit a mall or go anywhere besides groceries and walmart.......yep, it's an hour. Drives me crazy....... I think next time I make the bone broth I will use our pressure cooker and it will be done so much quicker ! |

Staying in all day today and doing some much needed chores. I make bone broth all the time, but use the stock for soup mostly. And the beef bone broth I use for french onion soup. Now I'm going to start drinking it.
Lory good thread and the soup recipes look so good. Plus never knew about all the health benafits. Laura good for you taking the day off from cooking. Wow you have a long drive to go shopping. Just stay home and veg for a day. Gab just play with Sam for awhile, I'm sure he'll tire you out. He must be running around by now. Deb no my girlls not like george forman. It's like a real gill with slats so the dripping go right through. It's a hamilton beach. I see if I can post a pic. hamiltonbeachindoorgrill.com/ - Bing Images |

Lory not really working unless someone comes down for skiing, then then they call. So it's only a few days a month. And glad so I don't have to go out in the cold. Wtg on the 3lbs. I just restarted since the 1st but nothing yet.

Deb yes they have the at our wal-mart just got one for my DS just a different brand but looks just like it. And the best thing is you can grill onions and peppers on the side piece. I grill everything on there and it doesn't smoke the house up. Unless you burn your steak
