Dak - I know this may sound hard hearted but when I decide to cull I send them to the auction. If it isn't an animal that I would keep I don;t try to sell to an individual. I rarely sell to individuals anyway. Don't like to fool with them. I have a buck that someone kind of local is buying and I am selling a coujple of kids when they are born to someone about 40 miles away. But otherwise I either keep them or sell them to an unknown. I might have to sell a few as family milkers when my next pen starts kidding. Might have some good milkers in there but not necessarily show stock.

What is it about a weight number ending in 9? Congratulations on getting back into the swing of JUDDD. I was so excited when I saw that this morning although it may be seen again for awhile.

That does make sense Adi, plus, it's a business for you. Like culling tomato seedlings, they all show such promise, but they all don't get to grow, only the best.

Dak - I loke that analogy. My baby bortn with the crooked neck is going to be normal. Her neck is almost straight. By tomorrow she will be perfect. I have been doing therapy with her. She is suchb a good patient.

I have run out of energy. Not sure why so I am having a cup of coffee with HWC to get me through chore time.

Wish I could type and then proofread. I am running later today since we had babies at midnight last night. Got to get pictures for my blog since these girls are BIG. They are Saanens and cute, cute, cute.
I am 140.6 this morning after an UD which is perfect. I should bounce back down tomorrow to 139 something. I love JUDDD. Having my breakfast then out to feed all of babies and milk. No more due until Feb 1. YEA!!!

Course we will be gone Jan 30, 31 and Feb 1 so they will all kid early while we are gone to GA for DS officer school graduation. We won't see him again until he finishes Ranger school so we felt it was important for us and him to go to this event although it isn't a big milestone in his life. He actually acted like he wanted us to come. Then the hardest poart of his life will be Ranger school. That scares me but it is what he has to do.

Got my day planned. B was one egg and coffee with HWC. L and D will be potato soup. Those potato days are awesome for weightloss it seems.

What is it about potatoes I wonder? The fiber? Are you eating the skin too?

No worries regarding spelling. I figured you either liked or loved my analogy, either of which are good. . It's good to hear your therapy is helping the baby whose head was turned around. Makes me wonder how long her head was like that. You need an ultra sound machine, Adi! Can you imagine getting mama to lie still? (Like you need another project)

Your son is graduating, congratulations. I read the wiki description of Ranger School, sounds like a rite of passage. I'll keep a positive image of him in my heart for you.

Yesterday DH picked up fluorescent lights for my seedlings, there is space for another tray. Thinking about trying my luck with Italian peppers.

lilmiss - there was a big discussion on Marks daily apple about potatoes and how they can help with weight loss. And I am now a believer. Has to be very low fat and supposed to be only potatoes but I am doing a modified UD with potatoes and it is working well for me. Sample menu for UD these days:
B - 2 eggs, coffee with HWC
L - baked potato with lowfat sour cream and salsa
D - repeat lunch
Cold boiled potatoes are supposed to be best and some days I do that. I love the Yukon gold just plain and cold with some lemon pepper or plain sea salt. Yea for potatoes and I love baked potatoes.

Dak - Italian peppers sound good too. I found some envelopes of seeds in my refrigerator that I had gotten from an individual and put in there for safekeeping. They are sealed in a jar. No telling what I might raise.
I joined a Ranger Support group facebook that is private and am learning a lot. Maybe more than I want to but at least I know what I should do as a parent. I need to send a box to get there every Friday with food. They are allowed to eat whatever they can in a a certain time and anything left is tossed. I am beginning to wonder if that is the only food they get. The wives and parents of those that have finished talk about how they eat and eat and eat when they get out. I guess if you are on maneuvers in the middle of the desert there might not be any food or sleep. Let's hope he can make it since he gets real cranky when he is sleep deprived. Not a good thing for the leader of the pack.

Dak - Got some seeds in the mail toady. Can't wait until we get back from GA and I can start them. Thanks so much. And baby goats are so very photogenic. Especially the little white ones.
DD is going well. I hope to maintain while on my trip but I am not going to worry too much. A few DD's when I get back and I will be back to 140 or thereabouts.

We drove 15 hours today and 10 of it in pouring rain. We are both worn out and the dog whined the whole trip and she is still whining. Plus I walked her in the rain four times on our trip and once after we got here and she has yet to go pottie. DH siad she is saving it for the carpet. Guess she doesn't like to travel. I ate junk all day so that was my UD. I am not sure if I am going to do a DD tomorrow. We shall see how I feel when I get up.

Adi, what an adventure, it will be so worth it to be at the graduation!

I'm glad you got your seeds, you are more than welcome.

Bad week for me, had a headache for about 3 days straight, not bad enough to stay home but enough to put me in a bad mood by the end of the day. All my DDs have failed this week. Hoping I can have one today.

I am grumpy too. After 15 hours of terrible driving I end up sitting one row over from a screaming baby at graduation. With the number of people that were turning around glaring at her you would have thought she could have figured out how to get up and walk out of the auditorium. She FINALLY left with the baby and then the toddler started up. Grandma was worthless in keeping that one quiet too. What fun. But we got him graduated, took hime and nother WP graduate out to lunch and we are back at the hotel. Son is coming by later after shopping for stuff he has to have for Ranger School to see the dog. Since he has passed Airborne he has to jump into the Ranger School location. He thinks that is cool. Not me. He is very happy since he scored 39 out of 40 for shooting and is classified as Expert.
Our goat lady is in Delaware as of right now so will be late picking up my load of goats so we don't have any idea when we will start back. DS has to report at 6 in the morning so can't visit him Friday so we will just hang out, check out and then go wait on the goats. I am transporting 10 dairy does back to Texas.

That sounds so stressful, Adi. Crying babies create an almost visceral reaction to do something. Like either take care of the baby or leave. Great news for your son though, glad he's happy with his assignment. Very cool about his score. He must feel on the top of the world with that, being among the best of the best.

I had an excellent afternoon pulling weeds and tending to my garden. I'm becoming pleased with how it is shaping up. Thinking about putting another raised bed in for this spring, then I'll have enough room for all the peppers, tomatoes and squash I want to grow this year. Maybe. I really want to master drying and canning this summer. I've found a really intriguing recipe for dried tomatoes.

Oh, and a very good DD today too!

Thanks for the good wishes, Lil Miss! Sorry you're still under the weather too. Maybe you'll be well enough for a date this weekend with your DH?

DS came by and played with the dog last night. The goats I am to transport have been delayed so we can taek it slow this morning.
Dak - I have two raised beds that I love for spinach that are old metal water troughs that have a hole in the bottom somewhere. I fill them and leave about 6 inches from the top and that really helps them in our windy weather. One trough grows all the spinach we need. Think I might plant loose leaf lettuce in the other one this year.
Last checkin before we head back. Long trip ahead of us.

Hi ladies! I was in Vegas all week for a work conference and just got home a few hours ago. What an adventure! We stayed at the Wynn which as lovely until last night. I was on the 36th floor and last night was woken at midnight to loud, thumping dance club music. OMG!!! I didn't stop until 3:30 or 4:00.

It was a fun trip and I did tons of walking. So much that every inch of my legs was sore so it was really a wakeup call to how out of shape I am. We saw a Cirque Di Soleil while we were here which was really cool, and some of he casinos were a lot of fun for siteseeing. But boy am I glad to be home.

I just don't understand the attraction of casinos. I couldn't stand the smoke.

One of the best parts of the trip was seeing Red Rock canyon park. Unfortunately, the 2 ladies I was with had no interest in walking around so we breezed through the 12 mile loop pretty quickly, only getting out a few times. I look forward to going back with DH and really exploring some of the trails.

Have a safe trip home Adi!

Hope you are feeling better Dak and lil miss!

kritter - glad you enjoyed most of your trip. Never did enjoy trying to sightsee with folks that weren't interested.
DS starts Ranger School tomorrow so I joined a Ranger Support Group on Facebook so I will know what is going on. He shopped for his own supplies that he needed and said he spent $1200. That included clothing and three pairs of boots.
We eneded up only delivering one goat on the way home and the other three that were supposed to meet us on the Highway are still in the trailer. They are paid for so hope they come get them soon. And a litle doe had just kidded when we got home so I had to take care of them before I could go to sleep. Our neighbor fed this morning which was great.
I weighed this morning and was 137.4. I am sure I will go up tomorrow but losing after two UD's in a row was a surprise. I did a very low DD yesterday since we were traveling. HB egg and coffee with 1/2 and 1/2 for breakfast and a protein shake (120 calories) for dinner.
Have to go feed my newborns and figure out how to house my temporary goats.
