If your DH likes sauteed cabbage, I found a recipe where you sautee it in butter and add apples and pecans along with a little sage & seasalt. Its so so so good! (of course the apples/nuts do increase the carb counts, but a little goes a long way)

sounds goo fruit for me at this point though.

I had a hard workout and it was pouring. DH needed me to pick him up at the train as his car services messed up his pickup. Came home after running freezing. Crack Slaw and probably ate too much.

Need to figure out some more meals I can make in advance that are lower carb and good to reheat. Any ideas??????

MK, saw your

MK, saw your facebook post. Glad DH did well. Hope he isn't in too much pain now.

Off to bed.

Not sure what will be doing tomorrow. Thursday a bit busier as I have hair and brows and should be walking with my friend unless the weather is still rainy. I can run in the rain but she is sick and shouldn't be out it in.

Morning!

Was up early!
Had two meetings today to break up the day and both were cancelled last night before I left. Tonight is the concert that DFSIL is opening for and DH comes home from Montreal.

Debbie - you are alot lower weight wise than I am, , so I think your weight is awesome. I think I am a bit taller than you, , but am also much curvier. The nurse coach keeps reminding me about what my priorities are........

MK - glad to hear DH is doing well.
Becky same with you and Mom.

We don't get flu shots here - lots of controversy over them and even news story this a.m. from doc who doesn't believe in them. I guess you have to decide!

Off to the treadmill.....ugh.

Weig in today, I pray I lost. I ate out 3 times this week, tried to make good Jenny choices. Guess I'll find out. I started another pandora bracelet like the one I did when I gave up drinking. For every 5 pounds I lose I get a bead. I got one for the nerve to go back and I got one last week for the first 5. I'm really loving this program, if I have to lose weight then I think this is the route for me to go.,

I hope I can take mom home today. This is the best she's ever been, if she feels up to it I'm going to take her to Applebees on the way home.

Going to learn another bucket list thing. I love the look of calligraphy so ingot some kits and books from amazon and a practice pad. Some of it was delivered yesterday but I haven't had a chance to go through the box to see what came.

Debbie, I got a flu shot, John did, mom, Alyssa and Gracie all did. We need to get one for Kim at a pharmacy as soon as this is over with so she's protected from now on.

Mk, you can move here and I'll share Kim and my girls with u. A belated to your mama!

Cindy, things slowing down at work? Mom just told me she read where they're gonna try to make kids go 300 more hours per year cuz the U.S. is behind and they're afraid we'll end up being a 3rd world country??? That's insane!

Jenn, is your son feeling better? BTW, I <3 his name!!!!

Kelly, did I read that it got to 29* there???? Did it hurt the citrus? The lemons better be ok!!!! Lol. I hope u guys warm up soon. John was looking last night and we have a night that will be 8* and 11* and the daytime high is like 13 or something. And it shows snow for today and tomorrow but I prayed enough for me to be able to get mom home and to go to my weigh in and I think god was with me today!!!!

Better go before I lose my post!

Good morning-
I hope DS15 isn't getting sick. He went into his room with his laptop after school & was asleep by 3:30 & slept all night. (he got up & took some ibuprofen around 8:30 but that was it). I usually put his cell & laptop in my room at night & when I grabbed his cell there were unread texts too...

We had our appointment with his counselor yesterday too & I always feel better after I talk to them because they always have a reasonable plan to fix mistakes.

Becky, I'm glad your mom is doing so well.
The bracelet is a great idea & you can be proud if you every time you look at it!
Learning calligraphy is so cool. That will be a fun challenge for you.
I have read a couple of articles saying that a variety of food will be affected by the cold. Lemons, tangerines, limes, & other small citrus are really vulnerable to the cold.

Cindy, I'm curvy too. I like my curves so I'm ok being a little heavier.
We don't get flu shots here either. DH does occasionally, but the rest of us skip them. We just try to stay healthy otherwise so that if we do catch it our immune system is strong enough to fight it pretty quickly.

Debbie, I love chowstalker. It's a really fun recipe site that lets you look within specific parameters. I always think I would like the once a month cooking ideas, but I don't ever want to spend the huge amount of time involved to put it all together.

MK, glad everything is ok with your DH. Don't forget to take care of you too.

The people super sick with repiratory flu didn't get the shot.

Every employee has to get it unless they have a medical excuse. If they don't get a shot they have to wear a mask till flu season is over at all times.

We have even had a 2 week old baby with flu and one very sick kid was transferred to Children's. I have seen people die with flu or get pneumonia.

I guess as a health care provider I believe in prevention. One year I got the flu and didn't get the shot. I was so sick. Now I don't have a choice.

Winter storm watch for tomorrow.

Cindy, I am shorter. I am curvy and busty. I would feel best under 120. I am realistic. 115 would be best. I accept 122.

So my low carbing has dropped almost 4 pounds. I am sure a lot of water weight. My body fat percentage is way high. I prefer lower weight and lower body fat. So I continue on low carb but will add extra carbs on Saturday in the early part of the day. I can't run 10-15 miles on empty. I will usually eat PB and J. Hard to eat oatmeal but that would be my choice. It could lead to tummy issues while running.

Becky, you will have a beautiful bracelet because you will drop the pounds. Good idea!!!

Good Morning-

Don't have much time right now, but I'll BBL.

Metalmmm, welcome. We don't always talk weight loss here, but most of us are getting back to the basics so you'll see more of that at the moment.
You and I are the same height, we all understand what someone else would consider a healthy weight being much too heavy.
How old are your kiddos? (the step kids too)

Busy till now. Had 10 am hair and brow appt.

Made a grocery run and filled my gas tank.

Came home and I have been cooking. Made fish for dinner. Used a recipe on the frozen halibut package. I stir fried up some cabbage and roasted broccoli. I am working on laundry now and run tonight. Praying the snow holds off. 1-3 inches and people freak out here.

Now I think I will read.

Welcome metalmmm

We do talk about diet here and there but not the majority of the time. Mostly we are Internet friends. Some of us have met in real life too.

We have our normal weather back. YEAH! (I won't say any more!)

I ripped the pocket and a huge hole where the pocket was on my favorite jeans last night. I was jumping up on the counter to grab a pan off of a tall shelf & my pocket caught on the knob for the drawer. I should have just asked DH (who was standing right there) to grab it. So, because I only owned 2 pairs of jeans I was "forced" to go shopping today. The good news is I had to put my stack of size 8 jeans back for size 6's! The other good news, they were on clearance at Old Navy for $15, so I grabbed a couple of tops and tanks too.

Becky, I'm sure you're having fun with the girlies this afternoon!

Debbie, we have fish a lot here. Last night I did a bigger dinner than usual because it was our anniversary. We had bacon wrapped pineapple (DH had cheese & an adult beverage as well) as a starter, salmon w/ pesto & roasted asparagus & berries w/ cream for dessert (mine was coconut cream since I'm still avoiding dairy) It was really yummy (if I do say so myself)

Cindy, glad the show was fun. Feel better quickly!

MK, how's DH?

Friday.
Off to work and my night stay till 5. ICK. We HAVE to have coverage and since there are only four admission specialists we have to take one Friday a month. Not too bad, I guess, but staying till 5 on Friday is painful.

Feeling better today - it was nice to take the day - I did rest but got alot of laundry done (DH cleaned out his closet). Watched Damages, started season one of AHS - DD had been bugging me to check it out and caught up on a few taped shows.

Where is MK now?
Kelly - that's a great feeling with your jean size! I don't think I will every see that size again .

Becky - I can't wait till spring either.

Debbie - we are supposed to get some snow this weekend - a little though.....and then we get into frigid temps next week.

Kaye and Jenn need to check in!

Off to the races.......hugs to all.

Do I have to take a few days off and go find Mk? Kaye too? I just can't keep track of those kids!!!!

Aaahhh, coffee and Friday, can't get much better than that!!!

Grocery to get fresh diet stuff. Have needed to go for about 4 days and I keep putting it off, imagine me procrastinating!!!

Better run, don't anyone else run away! I only have enough gas in my car to search for 2 shorties!!!

Computer working again. Better go get ready or work and then I will try to make my paycheck cover the bills. Hard when my son had over 1100 worth of car repairs we paid.

I may have to add complex carbs like oats, rice and bread back because my muscles are horrible when I run. They feel terribly fatigued.

I will never get rid of the tummy fat or my chest or my arm and legs.

Good morning ladies-

So happy its Friday AND DS15 has a 3 day weekend. DH just told me he isn't working Monday either. I think its the first time EVER that he has taken off on a holiday like MLK day. DS15 had already invited a huge group of boys to spend the day here, so that will be fun.

Cndy, glad you are feeling better. sometimes even moving around the house and getting a few things done can be restful just because you don't have to go anywhere.
The 6's are a little snug in the waist, but the jeans have a little stretch in them and the 8's were definitely too big so I think after they are worn for a bit they will stretch and be perfect. I was quite shocked when the 8's were too big. (I had grabbed 8's & 10's)

Becky, I have all kinds of veggies that I need to use, wish I could share with you. I bought salad veggies (and other stuff) and so did DH.

Debbie, tech can be so frustrating when it won't do what you want it to do. Unexpected repair bills are not fun. Your boys are so lucky to have you all to help them out in a pinch.
You are so inspiring with your dedication to running!

Need to get a few things done, I'm planning to go to yoga this morning AND do some major weeding in the backyard. I've been ignoring it because it was cold. (I did clean up the front yard since everyone sees that)

Kelly, since I've been doing Jenny Craig I'm eating more salads, veggies and fruits than I ever did. I got to liking then and missed them this past 4 days when I couldn't get to the grocery.

Becky, I love my fresh veggies and fruit too! Last night we had a pineapple salsa as a side for dinner, except, well it was gone before dinner.
I thought about you this morning when I was trying to pull lemons off my tree from up high. (the ones no one grabs, but they looked the best) They were not cooperating and I ended up with the "low hanging fruit" I still had to use my fruit picker to get that though. The tree smelled so good while I was disturbing all the yummy lemons.

I can't imagine having fruit trees and being able to pick fruit for home.

On a break. Very busy day. Two more hours!!!
