It was the lesser of 2 evils!

So sorry to hear about your SIL's mom!

TGIF!
Up early caffeinating.....watching Scandal.

Well the little MK gal never called me last night, so I guess she must not need/want my business? Not like the MK consultants I have worked with before.....

DD23 coming home for the weekend - DF has a show tonight here in town. She wants to get organized for her wedding this weekend. We are going to try and get her passport situated, have lunch and I promised to make vegan chicken noodle soup. THEN Packers vs. 49ers!

MK - I don't think I could use the mouse with my left hand....too awkward. My PT says we can combat this with the proper care, exercises and treatments. They just need to develop some sort of support that fits under clothes!

So did Debbie/Jenn open their St. Nick gifts?

Happy Friday everyone - I need the weekend ahead!

I have super dry skin on my face( really everywhere). Winter is making it worse.

I would also like a cream blush and eye makeup primer and a concealer. I need to look at a catalogue or online.

Work day. Only 8 hours. Tomorrow we have a club race. It is named for it's original race director who died of cancer. His wife is a dear friend. I plan to run after. No other big plans for tomorrow.

DS28 has to pick his car up later. It was an expensive trip to the garage. Used cars have issues. This one has 90,000 miles on it. It's always something. He couldn't afford what this is costing. His engagement ring wasn't much more and he just finished paying us for that.

I better get up and deal with the bills I couldn't pay yesterday and prepare for work.

Thanks! I think everyone except my grandpa is mostly better. My dad is back to helping my brother so I know he is feeling a lot better. (My brother has a landscaping/lawn care business so its hard work and my dad helps out a few days a week which I'm sure keeps him "young & healthy")

My grandpa is on the road to recovery, he just really needs to take better care of himself, but I'm not sure that will happen anytime soon.

Becky, I used to wear MK, I'm pretty low maintenance though so I'm not the best make-up/skin care customer for anyone since I don't wear make-up every day. (well, except mascara, my blonde eyelashes with nothing on them aren't pretty) I always liked the tinted moisturizer in place of a heavier foundation though.

Cindy, I hope you find a wrap that works under your clothes. That sounds miserable.
I'm sure its crazy with the start of the semester. We always have swim teams from various colleges come here to work out over their breaks, we have had 2 Univ. of Wis. teams here (I don't remember which UW's though)

Debbie, YIKES on the cars! Sometimes I think its luck of the draw on cars. We've mostly had used cars since we've been married and the one car that had the most issues was a new car that DH leased a couple of years ago. He actually was able to get the dealership to purchase it back under our lemon laws. Its not good when you have to have your brand new car towed multiple times because it dies. I think we've been lucky with most of our car purchases (we keep them a long time too) but its nice not to have a car payment.

Gosh everyone must be out having a life today. (I'm procrastinating)

My house smells so good right now. I am making home made chicken broth in my crockpot. I toss chicken bones in a ziplock in the freezer when I have them and when its full they go into the crockpot for yummy healthy broth.

Hi! Yes, I was out playing today!!Exercise, lunch out, looked at a house with a friend who's house-hunting, dog walk, and finally, here I am!!

Kelly - Good for you on the homemade broth!! And I'm glad everyone is on the mend.
DH's mom is in the hospital with a possible stroke.
Sigh.

Becky - I've used some Mary Kay, though not much. I mainly like things that have my name on them - I have a great lipstick holder for my purse that has my name across the front. I'll buy anything like that!

Cindy - I HATE using my left hand, but it's working. Apparently it's the same muscles when you grip the mouse, so you continually aggravate it! It's not 100% but I've been lifting this week without the band. Just using lighter weights for biceps. The rest is going well.

Have fun with DD!!

Debbie - Did you have a good day at work? Maybe life can calm down now!

Jenn - maybe Henry needed another day home with mom?!

Good evening girls, boy have I not had a good day! We had an appt for mom with her eye surgeon and we went to 2 additional specialists all on emergency basis. Long story short, she has surgery to reduce the glaucoma pressure on Tuesday so she will be with me Tuesday night til the meds wear off. Crazy crazy day!

Talk to you all tomorrow.

Becky, sorry about mom. My mom has glaucoma and has had the surgery. She worries about going blind and already has lost a lot of her visual field. They say she is stable but she really gets anxious.

Up early to volunteer at a race then run with someone after. No other plans today.unless we get to see Isabella.

Debbie, I once told John that we needed to back to the horse and buggy era so we didn't have cars and he said ours would just end up going lame!

So, today is a ME day! Going to go to a NICE shoe store and get some name brand shoes that I've been wanting, don't want to name them here. They're a chunky heal, wooden heal with nice leather and slip in. I saw them last week but they were OUTRAGEOUS and John got his bonus so he said to treat myself since I've been doing so well on my diet.

I have a haircut at 945 or 1045, gotta check the time on that. I so need the complementary mini facial that they give.

So, since Guinie has been on her way out of this life, Mia has become very affectionate. As much as I want another cat I don't want to lose this with her. More to ponder!!!!

I'll be back later! Oh, forgot to tell I guys Kim joined the gym I go to so I have a workout buddy on the weekends that brad has the girls!

Becky-Oh no! Good luck to you and your mom.

MK-safe travels to your DS!

Pinewood Derby today. I'm volunteering at the refreshment table. Henry is still sick so he's staying home, but Padraic is going to race his car for him. Henry's race is at 11 and Padraic's is at 2. ugh. It's kind of fun though!

Off to the grocery store, then running with DD - still don't feel the best....neither does DH. He mentioned going somewhere for the game - not really up to that - like a bar........I am hoping he feels crappy enough that he won't want to go!

Good morning-
I hope everyone feels a little better today.

Becky, so nice to have Kim go to the gym with you on the weekends when the girls aren't there.
AND-shoe shopping, so fun!

Debbie, my grandmother has macular degeneration. She can still see, but she lost a lot of her sight fast after surgery, now she seems to be stable. She blames the surgery, but of course, who knows she might have entirely lost her eyesight if she hadn't had the surgery.

Jenn, I loved the pinewood derby, so fun! Its nice that Padraic is racing Henry's car. I'm sure Henry worked really hard on his car.

MK, enjoy having your DS home again. How long does he get to stay?

Kaye, come out and play with us.

I remember when my brothers did the Pinewood Derby. The best part was having Kentucky Fried Chicken after. We never ate food like that. It doesn't taste like I remember now.

I had a nice run with a guy I know from my marathon training. Interesting that I saw two runners I know who live down there. I never run that trail. It is beautiful as all our local trails are. I did my volunteer duty and got him to volunteer.

DS28 and DF here as his car isn't ready and they don't want to drive home and back. He is in a not so pleasant move. I am going to take my time going downstairs after my shower.

DH at orientation for our winter Speed Development program. He coaches. I am skipping orientation since the coach hasn't changed anything in years. This is the program I end up collecting for coaches gifts.

Saw a lot of people this morning volunteering which is fun.

Shower time. Also need to make the bed. My son did put my sheets in the dryer and I didn't ask.

No plans for later. DH has already told me he will need a nap. I told him we need to eat home tonight because I defrosted steaks yesterday and we were too tired to cook dinner last night. He is traveling tomorrow to Tuesday. So we need to cook the steaks.

Got my hair cut, very edgy now. I love it and she did it the way I asked but I don't think John will like it. Got some goodies there too, spray toner as a pick me up, shampoo, soap of 2 different scents.

I went to Joanne fabrics too to get buttons for the scarves and got some more yarn to do one for next Christmas for Kim. This is a textured yarn and variegated burnt oranges and a little pink. I got some shrinky dinks for the girls to do too and some Monster High paper table cloth, napkins and plates so we can have a pizza party at dinner time.

Better go and shrink the shrinky dinks!

We had a very "exciting" day of running errands as a family. We picked up DH's watch from the watch repair place. (they have one of mine that hasn't worked in years too, it was an anniversary gift from DH, I think maybe for our 5th anniversary and I it so I hope they can fix it so I can wear it again)
While he was in the watch repair place DS15 & I spotted a thrift store so we treasure hunted. He walked out with a pile of VHS movies and two sega games. (for about $10)
From there we had lunch out at DS15's current favorite place. Its a "hot pot" restaurant, so they put a pan of broth on a burner in the middle of the table and you order what you want to put in it. Kinda like an Asian fondue with chopsticks and ladles.
After that a stop at Target for stuff that we will need eventually. We didn't "need" a lot of stuff but just grabbed stuff that we always seem to need before we actually run out of it.

DH told DS15 they are rearranging his room this afternoon so they can get behind the electronics and straighten out the cords. Hopefully, I'll still have internet later since that's where the modem is...

I forgot about the actual fun stop. We stopped at "Great News Cookware & Cooking School" Its my favorite store for kitchen toys, they have almost anything you could think you wanted (or needed) Anyway, we got some little things (teas & refill chargers for my ISI cream whipper) AND the last on sale All Clad sautee pan and another on sale copper/stainless steel pan (Mauviel-I think I spelled it right) that was marked way down.

Isabella came to visit today. We went to the playground for a while.

DH and I stayed home tonight. I have a long day tomorrow and my 8 hour shift Monday to get through. He is off to Seattle tomorrow. I am dropping him off at the metro and will pick him up Tuesday.

I would love All Clad pots Kelly.

Happy to see the Ravens won. Good game!!

Debbie, I have a nice assortment of kitchen stuff that I've gotten piece by piece. None of it matches, (well, except the stuff I got as wedding presents) but I love all of it. Both of the pans I got were marked down by more than $100 so while still not cheap,
The sales lady told me they have All Clad on sale about once a year and not every piece and when its gone its gone until next time.

Morning all!

Sad day in Green Bay as the football season is over.
I am/was fighting something, so ended up in bed early......probably a good thing.

DD and I had a nice afternoon even though a little under the weather. All over the place in a few short hours. She decided (thank God!) to just go to dollar stores to accumulate frames for table markers instead of foraging at Goodwill! Less work due to not having to clean up first!

Becky - good job on sticking with the program!

I have a couple of Calphalon pans that are my faves....slowly accumulating them through TJ Maxx.

Made vegan "chicken" noddle soup and vegan cornbread last night for DD - it was a hit with all.....not sure I am a fan of seitan though.

Debbie - my DH is off to Montreal tomorrow and back Wednesday. I love Isabella!

MK - DS is back from Belize - when does he have to return to school?

Well today is laundry and I think just resting up for a busy week. I refuse to get this flu I think I am fighting.....overdosing on vitamins and echinacia, lol.
