It seems my brother will be driving through here tomorrow on his way back to Alexandria. I guess I better go buy some bread or rolls. I have turkey, ham and cheese. Need desert, bread and better clean my downstairs and sweep the garage.
They have been in Delaware seeing SILs mother who is sick. They are driving to Alexandria to drop daughter off. Then they are coming here. I just sat down to watch Revenge on the computer. For some reason DVR cut part off. Guess I could come back and start it again. |

Nice run. Much more energized then I was all day. Getting up and cleaning before brother comes.
My friend I walk with emailed and we are walking Thursday. I think all her cancer treatments are over. She felt horrible and didn't want to walk. Then there were holidays and travels. Hopefully we will be able to walk Thursdays unless it is too cold or icy. Jenn, what is Thirty One? I should google. |

Why don't I know these things Becky?
Need to go clean. Don't want to get up. Let us know how the weigh in goes Becky. I am sure you can feel yourself getting smaller. Some how just taking control,of eating makes you feel better. |

Good morning everyone,
I have to pop in at our local grocery store this morning. The meat dept. manager is always very chatty with their regular customers and he told me yesterday all of the stuff across from the meat dept. that they normally don't carry will be 90% off today. DH has been wanting a keurig for his office, so hopefully I get there in time to grab one of those at 90% off... (Its their coffee makers, turkey fryers, toasters, and other things like that) Debbie, I'm sure its nice for your friend to be able to walk with someone. Hope she has good news after her treatments. I didn't know what 31 is either, so not just you... Becky, can't wait to hear about your weigh in! It does feel good just taking the positive step of getting back in control. Jenn, I used to volunteer in the main office at the MS when they had staff meetings. It was one of my favorite volunteer jobs. I don't care what anyone says, the secretaries actually run the school. MK, it looks like your DS is having a great trip! My camper called this morning. He will be calling more often again because they are back to a full workout schedule and there is a break between weights on M/W/F when his room mate is in class and the cafeteria isn't open for hot food, so that's where I'll fit in... Cindy, & Kaye, pop in and let us know how things are going. |

My brother,SIL and their grandson ( wno they have permanent custody of) just left. They stopped for around one hour and 15 minutes and now have 8 hours to Cincinnati.
They ate but I have 8 big hard rolls they chose bread over. Guess I will just freeze them. I made a pumpkin bread last night( Trader Joes Mix). I also bought oatmeal cookies I sent in the car with them. I cleaned a bit but not very thoroughly. Now I am free till I run tonight other then laundry to fold. It is a quiet week for me. I used to volunteer at Elementary School but not at HS or MS accept on field trips. I used to volunteer in the art room. She needed a ton of help and library. Plus I helped when they did eye tests and hearing tests and in the classroom. The older my son got the more I moved out of the classroom. |

I should volunteer more in the elementary, but I think it's harder. Especially with Millie and Henry because they either want to go with me when I leave or they want me to stay all day. And some of those kids! I don't know how the teacher does it!
Kelly-so true about the secretaries! I made sure to get on the head secretaries good side! lol! Becky-visit my website Wish we could post that stuff without getting in trouble!Debbie-I hope your friend is doing better. Enjoy your walk! Thirty one has purses, totes, insulated lunch bags, and tons of other products to help get your organized

I need to get organized.
I feel like I got my kitchen cupboard " office" more organized but really need files. I started getting everything ready for taxes. Now need things to come from work, investments etc. Trying a chicken recipe from Pinterest that is strange. The mixture I put on the chicken really didn't cover it as requested and cooking temp very hot. I figure it is close to broiling temp but not coming from top element of oven. We will see. |

Debbie, I always feel like I could be more organized, its never ending!
I have helped out at every school. My oldest always liked having me around, but he didn't seem to have attachment issues either when it was time to go it was fine. My DS15 would ignore me when he was in first grade like he was too cool to talk to his mom. He got over it pretty quickly when all of his friends would come and talk to me. He was the baby/toddler that always got upset when I left him at daycare too, kinda funny how that switched so fast. Jenn, my elementary school volunteering was a lot of ups and downs. I think alot of it depends on the teacher, your own kids, and the other parents in the class. I'm the parent group president now and I help out in the office from time to time. It is a good idea to be on EVERYONE in the HS office's good side. I have become friends with the main secretary, the attendance lady is a riot (in a good way, I'm sad that she will probably retire at the end of the school year, she's tough, but the kids love her, the area behind her desk is covered with senior pics and the kids that have graduated pop in to say hi to her) the registrar is always helpful and I would say the absolute most important person for both you and your kids to have a good relationship with is their counselor. We are so lucky here to have really good counselors that just "get" the kids. They also have a really good grasp on the college application process and have an open door policy with all of "their" students. (which reminds me, I need to make an appointment to talk to the counselor along with my bright but unmotivated HS freshmen) |

Car trouble. AAA came. Not battery. Had it towed to Honda dealer. Praying under warranty or extended warranty. Bad car Karma in our family. Mirsa needs a new transmission. DS28's window stuck part way down and he needs brake work and callipers. His car is here and will drop at local garage in morning.
Needless to say I didn't get my run in. Too bad because I ate too much today. Darned baked lays I bought for my visitors. Should have sent them home with them for the car. Fed DS and DFiance dinner. Luckily I made 5 chicken breasts today. I won't use that recipe again. Nothing special and too much garlic for me. |

Kelly-were you able to get the coffee maker? I want one too! Good deal at 90% off! Cookie sales do not officially start until Saturday, so I will pm you the website then.
If anyone else would like it, let me know! Debbie-Sorry you did not get your run in! I know how much you like them! Becky-That's fantastic! What a great loss! Where are Cindy and MK? They usually pop in more! Had PTA meeting for MS tonight. I told the president (whom I'm friends with) that I would be VP next year since our current will be leaving. We've had trouble with her too, so I'm glad she'll be going. |

Hi Becky, Wow, I beat our friends in the other time zones this morning...
I think I'm probably the tallest shortie (a little over 5'2") and I have VERY tall boys around all the time, so its okay that Kim is tall, LOL (both of DS19's best friends are well over 6', his roommate is something like 6'6") |

My sons are 5'6"- 5'7". Only DS21 is 5'7".
So my car was towed to dealer. It is the battery. Wish AAA said the battery needed changing. They said it was fine. The dealer ripped me off for a battery. DS28's car at local garage. Needs window fixed and brakes, calypers so will be expensive. He has needed brakes a while and said he couldn't afford the repairs. I am getting it all done and paying. So have been to local garage to drop off one car and to dealer in Rockville to pick up my car. Went to bank and grocery and now heading home. Need to eat. Starving. Must iron, put away laundry and pay bills. Walking at 2:30 and running tonight. Back to work tomorrow. Reading posts from coworkers about the butt kicking they are getting at work. So much flu! |

Morning!!
Kelly - we always placed an order and then the cookies were delivered much later. There were always the ones outside of stores, but the individual girls only took orders. I think it would be hard for each scout to have so many boxes sitting at their houses! Or a pain to have to keep running to the GS office! ![]() Debbie - cars are such a pain! Shouldn't we be beaming ourselves up by now??!! Becky - wow, Kim is tall!! ![]() Cindy - where did you go? |

Hair one week from today for me.
We got a little rain yesterday. DH's check not deposited. Can't pay bills yet. Weird. Guess it will be in later. My cousin's daughter is selling GS cookies. We are sending money and they will go to the troops. My niece's daughter selling them too.mi should do the same for her. My SIL's mom died at 3am. They just left Delaware yesterday. She was 79 and very sick the last week or so. Yes, they want me to be running club secretary and I don't think I could do it. I doodle. Plus I am anal and a perfectionist and would ask for things to be repeated often. |

they changed banks and check coming on Fridays now. I always liked it on Thursday but can't change it so will have to pay bills on Friday before work. I hear the amount is going down due to the end of the SS tax break we were getting ending.

We have "Operation Thin Mint" here too where you can donate cookies to the deployed troops, you basically just pay for cookies that are then delivered directly to the military. I think its a good thing, especially since we are a military town here. we have rain this morning too... Debbie, sorry to hear about your SIL's mom. I can't remember the last time I made crack slaw. I always liked it though. I think most of my family in the midwest are or have been sick the last couple of weeks. My grandfather is in the hospital (not flu, he doesn't take care of himself) he's significantly overweight, eats horribly, and is a type 2 diabetic. He still works as a truck driver and loves to go to work, but not a lot of moving around as an over the road truck driver (and a lot of bad for you food at all those truck stops) he has been having headaches and apparently has gone overboard with the NSAIDS and now has an ulcer that is bleeding. I wish I could convince my family that things like twinkies aren't healthy just because they are low fat/fat free. The last thing he needs is a straight dose of sugar/starch. I'm sure the headaches were probably blood sugar related. (the rest of the family has had the flu & my little neice had pneumonia) |

Hi Peeps!
Start of semester today and this week has been absolutely insane. I have been wiped at night and not on my computer......also feel like I am coming down with something. Ironically, Becky - I went to a MK taco night last night. DD25's friend is trying to be a sales director. I really want the Timewise Repair kit - the products are phenomenal! She gave me samples of the whole thing. She is supposed to call tonight to see what I would like - hoping she might offer a little more off than the 25%. We will see....... And........... WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO on the weight loss!!! MK - thanks for checking on me today! My arm is so bad right now - we are trying the tape and another approach with a wrap/band since I can't use the arm thingy - it won't fit under my clothes. GRRRRR Other than that - Kelly, Debbie and Jenn........DH is gone tonight - I am laying low catching up on shows. Looking forward to the busy weekend ahead.
