Amber- I agree with you on everything...just have to remind myself of it every once in a while I take a prenatal vitamin every day (because it does amazing things for my skin and nails!) and I try to get a good 120 oz of water in, but its the exercise that gets me! I have every excuse in the book (and it makes completely no sense to pay for a membership I dont use, as my husband likes to remind me )

So, the goal is to go today...Im battling a sinus infection, so it wont be hardcore or long, but it will be something at least lol (and more than I have done in the past few months!)

Good morning everyone. Well some friends of mine are doing a weight loss challenge so we all went an weighed in this morning. On her scale I was 259 which is 9 pounds higher than mine - I also had on long johns, sweatsuit, hat and tennis shoes as it was freezing - I think I will blame that. After the weigh in we did a short walk - it was great to exercise again as it has been forever! Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Having a sorta wonky day so far... had a very stressful morning all due to teenagers who think they can take over and then at the last minute find out they didn't do it right Bottom line: My sister and BIL were driving through town on their way back home to TX from our parents house in CA...DD16 made a big deal about making the plans to meet them for lunch and totally wonked everything.. Why my family INSISTS on listening to this kid for everything I will never know!

Anywho, yeah, I kinda ruined my calories for the day..attributed to stressful morning..then it dawned on me it's not entirely that... my DS is heading back to college tomorrow morning after being home for more than 2 weeks.. my heart is breaking all over again Gonna suck it up and put on a good show for his farewell in the morning and try desperately to not be upset.

Saw Zero Dark Thirty last night. The first 5 min were extremely emotional, I wasn't prepared for that...but all in all, the movie was very good and Jessica Chastain is great. Date night was lovely, I love being able to go to dinner with the hubbs and have a conversation.

Cindy- Yikes! That must have been scary. I'm glad everyone's okay, but sorry you didn't get your work done.


I got all 4 wisdom teeth out yesterday. I've been afraid of it for months and it was no big deal at all. Even the dentist made it sound like it would take weeks to recover. Umm, no. I vegged on the couch last night, but was ready to hit the gym this am! I have chipmunk cheeks today and can only eat soft foods for a few days but it's not slowing me down. I'm kinda disappointed actually, I was looking forward to milking it like DH milked a cold for the last two weeks. I'm going for a long run tomorrow - really looking forward to it since it's the first training I'll have done with my sister. I have to prove to her she can keep up - our race is only 7 weeks away! Food has been basically atkin shakes and sf yogurt. I can't wait to eat MEAT again!

Dani, I know how hard it is when our kids drive away. It's like you never get used to it. BUT my son has decided to come home for a semester to work and go to school before he transfers to a different college. I can't act too excited or I will scare him off. LOL!

So can we just go add ourselves to the spreadsheet? Or just our weights? My 1/4/13 weight was 257.2.

Ugh, I am dreading the morning, I don't want him to leave. He did talk to us though about considering a school closer to home... he wants to get into music production and sound..he's questioning his path right now..so, he "might" be headed back this way for next fall.. lemme tell ya, I was grinning so wide my cheeks hurt! He was considering not going for spring semester and just coming home to work and then start the new school in the fall, but then we realized that he is locked into a lease for his apt until Aug Meh!

yes, add yourself! I'm so glad you are here! Fat rolls to the curb!!

Kristyn, thank you. It never gets easy I am finding out. I think I could be happy had mine all stayed toddlers!
Proud of you for getting out there and working out. Thank goodness your surgery is going smoothly for recovery!! Men, sick,...don't even get me started!

Dani - how exciting that he may be coming closer! My son IS locked into a lease but is going to pay it from here while trying to find someone to take it over. He, too, is questioning what he wants to do and I think after having a great first year, this year was rough on him with some friends not being as close. Plus being in Houston, he discovered he is not cut out for big cities.

I wish they could have stayed toddlers, too.

Girls I got good news, the seller accepted our offer, now it is up to his banks to decide if it is enough to settle what he owes so this is a good first step, my workout plan today was packing, OMG we worked all day and got so much accomplished!!!!! I am being good, all low carb! I found ham salad with 1 carb at the market, it was so good so I ate that at lunch with 2 red beet eggs I make my own with splenda and vinegar and beets. Dinner was the korean marinated beef I like and snap peas with mushrooms and scallions delish! Then I had some summer sausage, found some cracker at Wally World only 6 carbs for a big long cracker with pumpkin seeds, I hope they are good and I found another atkins entree they didnt have before!

So I worked hard, now my trainer is sick so I cant see him tomorrow but that is oK another day of packing up and down the steps a zillion times counts in my book!!!!

I am not going to weigh til Monday and hope for a good number! I am chugging water!

jayce, sorry about the headache and the arguement. Hope it all works out!

Blonde~ I went to bed queasy and woke up starving! Kinda blew my DD yesterday with stress eating and finished off the evening with hershey kisses

Funnily enough, TOTALLY wonky day yesterday and somehow I'm down .5 on the scale today.. woot! Not gonna argue with it, however, I do not like feeling

DS leaves in a couple hours. Mama bear is holding it together so far.

Hi all. I'm back, refreshed, resolved and ready to make my health my # 1 priority. For too long I've put myself last. I want to be looking at 100 lbs gone in 12 months. I'm setting short term goals for myself to keep me motivated and I'm going to journal my food. And check in here of course.

Thanks for organizing, Amber. I will get on the scale tomorrow and post weight. Weigh in day is Friday, right?

Yes weigh ins are Fri, I am down .3 so I will take it, man did I work, my entire curb is full of trash almost the whole basement packed, we worked in Bobby's room, I made 3 trips to Goodwill with clothing and toys, it was a productive weekend, man and my muscles are hurting from all the lifting and up and down steps!

Who watched Biggest Loser? I am always asleep at 8 on the couch but I chugged coffee and stayed awake! Jillian is back her no nonsense approach always works for me, so I was glad to hear her screaming again!!!!

Ready for a good week, cooked planned, so lets keep this up, we can do it!!!! It is important to our health and mental well being to stick to our goals!!!!

Amber moving is hard work, which is why I've been in my house 20+ years. I don't want to.....You get huge props for physical labor AND donating to Goodwill.

I hauled and stacked firewood yesterday, so that's my contribution to exercise.

I watched BL off and on as the season went by. This is the first season I will be watching it while trying to lose weight myself. Maybe it will help keep me motivated!
