Girls I am back, Nan is in her new nursing home getting rehabbed and I finally feel human, I am fat, dudes, I knew I had gained weight but living in black yoga pants all winter, I didnt see it until I tried on clothes, holy thunder thighs, good grief, I have that 5K mud run May 4th and I am doing it, so I am starting today strict low carb and will see what happens, Tony and I did play racquetball this weekend both days the gym is hard to fit in they open too late in the morning, and at night honestly til I do the drive and see Nan I am done its 9:00 and I am exhausted so still need to work on a M-F plan, but I am back and I am going to be checking in at least on this thread every day even if I am talking to myself, I need to get this weight off! My cyst is still there so u/s in 6 weeks then if it is not going down in size I will have to have surgery, ughghg, I am praying it goes down!

Morning all,
Keeping my 5 mo old DGD who has pneumonia AND bronchitis- so I'm gonna have to be creative if I want to stay on plan.

Amber, glad things with Nan are improving. My black yoga pants are getting tight!

Amber- That is good news about your Nan. Congrats for getting back on plan. I know the danger of wearing yoga pants all the time and then trying on a pair of jeans that used to fit. I hope your schedule starts to get easier and that you'll have more time for the gym, I have heard that some of the mud runs with obstacles are really tough.

Janice- I hope your DGD is feeling better. Poor thing must be exhausted and probably a bit cranky with being so sick.

KT- Congrats on the great check up at the doc. You are lucky to have a doc who gets it with LC/Paleo eating.

Amber- Great news about Nan. I hear you on the yoga pants!

Janice - Glad DGD is feeling better. It's no fun when kiddos are sick

Frankie- Nice loss again! You're on a roll

I just finished day 4 of clean eating (I must give some credit to a stomach flu) which is about 3 days longer than I have lasted in a while. I had an "AHA" moment over the weekend and I saw that my face was getting pretty round again. Yikes! So it's back to the basics again.

Waited too late to eat last night so I had to eat something easy on the system to avoid GERD.

However, after a marathon cleaning, we're back in our "en suite" with a new tiled shower- (I call it my Maui Shower after the 9x6 one we had in our condo when we went to Hawaii a couple of years ago.)

I have three pair of pants I can fit into- GOT to do something. I even looked up Weight Watchers on the web.

On a MUCH brighter note, my daughter is trying LC. She's nursing a 5 mo old and read somewhere that she should be on Maintenance so that's what she's doing. I need to read up on that.

Better get back to work!
Janice

3 days under my belt, OMG it is hard to stay sober with the carbs but I am doing it!

Nan had a good report with the ortho doc she can now bear weight on her new hip, but the wrist and arm is still an issue, rehab gal says she will walk and do stairs in no time, she is so determined, I am trying to think if my poor Nan at 91 is fighting like this I can keep my darn trap shut!

Yesterday I had
Protein shake, I use my Bev International powder with almond milk
Wendy's grilled chicken cesar very good and croutons are separate!
Dinner ground taco turkey meat with some cheese melted on it

Still get ravenous but I am
not weighing until Monday! Have my niece's first communion on Saturday food issues abound but I am going to try to be good!

Boss and hubby are leaving for FL so me and the new guy are alone at the office, OMG it is going to be nuts!

So all the excitement of weighing this morning, I was sure I was going to lose like 8 pounds, no 3, freaking 3, but oh well it is what it is a loss is better than nothing I guess, so back at it this week, I have a ton of fish my uncle caught so we will be having that often! My niece looked like the most beautiful angel, she is so gorgeous as is, but in her dress and veil she was amazing!!! Played many games of racquetball this weekend, that is our new thing, we are so competitive with one another, I get so mad when he beats me, LOL I hit him by accident, 3 times yersterday! LOL

So back at it, I did get some kefir to add to the diet I was drinking that pretty steady maybe it will heal something in my gut and make me lose weight faster!

After months of losing well I gained slightly this week. Not sure what is going on other than adding in exercise the last few weeks and possibly not eating enough carbs this last week. I log in a food journal so I can see my change stats. I have been trying to lower my carbs and get a little more protein since I am exercising. I know I just do not get as much protein as I should. I am not going to change anything yet and will see what happens this week.

Amber- Great job on the 3lbs! It may not be what you wanted but you are also exercising heavy so your loss might not be as much. Gotta take your measurements too!

Kristyn- WTG on getting back into Onederland!!!!

Cindy- I hope your big event went well this weekend.

Janice- I do a lot of self talk. It does help at times to have a routine to go through in my head when I am tempted to eat too much or something unexpected and not in my daily plan. It has helped with with my binge urges to think through things before taking any action. I also have to do this when I cannot see any loss in the mirror and I get down on the way I look (insert image of sagging skin here). Thinking more positively about the success I have had so far and not worrying so much about the future does really help me reframe my attitude for the day. I hope this works for you.

Frankie,
You are always so encouraging and I appreciate that.

Since late summer I have gained so much of my weight back (>20 lbs) that my body is rebelling against me. My knees hurt, my back hurts, I can't get my rings on... My self-talking consists of looking at my body in the mirror and talking mean- telling myself that if I don't change my habits I'm going to be back above 200. My wardrobe is shrinking (unlike my stomach ) because I can't get into my clothes.

Sunday and Monday I let myself go hungry which I haven't done in a while. I'm angry with myself but a little encouraged that maybe this time I will succeed in finding what will work since what helped me lose more than 60 lbs before is obviously not working now.

Hope you all have a great day- gonna try to get in a little exercise this evening.

Janice

Mama, glad you are back in this century!

Janice I hear ya sister!!! But it is always going to be a struggle for us, we have to just keep plugging away! I swear though if someone said I could have 1 million dollars or be thin for life I would take thin, this is daily work trying to lose and keep it off!

Being good we even played racquetball on Monday night that has become my stress relief as well, poor Tony I whacked him so hard he is scared to play!!!

I just cant wait to be in our home with a normal routine again!

Normal is highly overated.

Down a little bit today so I toned down the negative self-talk this morning to more of talking to myself about my goals.

Have a good one!

I have decided to stop shopping for clothes. Now that I can shop in regular sizes I am buying a lot of clothes and I only wear them a short time. So I am not going to buy anything else until I am in a size 8. I have also been buying shoes as most of my shoes are too big now. I cannot believe I am down a full shoe size.

Janice- I am glad the negative self talk is less today. I have to really be careful that my desire to improve does not turn into negative talk, especially when I look at my body. Being proud of the success and staying on plan seems to do a lot more for me than the self criticism does. I think focusing on your goals and how to achieve them is a great idea.

Amber- How long will it be before you can move into your new home? How is your Nan doing this week?

I'm actually excited about weighing in the morning- first time in a while

Just cutting down on the carbs has helped my joint and back pain- and my GERD.

Amber this statement evoked memories of "The Monkey's Paw". Remember that story about making three wishes on the Monkey's Paw? They were all tricks. When the person asked for money, his son died and he received the insurance money. Then he wished his son back, and he came back...dead. He used his third wish to get his son back into the grave. Just rambling, but can you imagine what the 'thin for life' wish would bring?

Creepily yours, Blonde

Wow, the spreadsheet does not lie, does it? I have gotten nowhere for 6 weeks. I'm 196 again this morning. Time to kick up the potato hack proper again. I just got my cuisinart panini grill (for hash browns) and some supplements to help me feel better. I'll work in blueberry smoothies for sanity - I think I can go back to my M-F potato hack routine now.

Here is the spreadsheet:

Hey Ladies!

Remember me?...Is there any way I can be put back on that spreadsheet? My starting weight for this week would be 220. I'm coming off a small derailment and really need to kick my butt back into gear. My school year is finally starting to wind down a bit I'm hoping I can start focusing on myself and my family again. So...If it's no trouble I'd like to come back with my tail between my legs...
