Cindy- where is your journal?
I did 2 minute sprints this morning with the running coach, I know this does not sound like much, but considering my fat arse had not been running, I was thrilled, I really wanted to quit, running is by far the hardest thing to motivate myself with, I was so disciplined doing that C25K last year I have to find that again, especially after we move to Mom's cuase that is going to be my exercise and the mud run is coming!! Hope everyone is having a good week!!!! |

I got the staples out yesterday from the surgery 2 weeks ago. Now I can start to do a bit more. Still can't swim, my favorite exercise. Hugs ![]() |

Just wanted to say a quick hello! I had posted a while back and was going to join the group, but some things came up. And then we had to make a quick trip to KC cause my 93yo mother in law fell twice. She's okay, but using a walker now. Then worked eight days straight when I came back. I am SO enjoying not working tonight!! Don't have to be back until Saturday night.
I have put on about 5 pounds from my lowest weight. Still in the low 180's, but I want to start losing again. Going to start back on the Dukan Diet on Friday. Need to get my book out and review everything. And get to the store tomorrow to buy a few things. Have a great day!!

Great Morning HB's!!!
So.... found out 2 of the supplements I have been taking contain hidden starches. After going thru this before you would think I would have researched every mineral in the supplement but I didn't I am so pissed. Just to know I have been contributing to my stall in weight loss. UUUGGGHHH and they don't even say starch it says some scientific name. Googled it and low and behold Cindy- I am better. Thanks for asking. ![]() Amber- have you checked your supplements?? Some of yours may contain some starches too which may be stalling you.

I've been on plan since Sunday after a 3 day hiatus for valentines day. I have taken 7 days off total in February for birthday/valentines day and social events. Still, I have been hitting it HARD on the potato hack and hope to post a good number tomorrow morning!
I am reading the 4hour body and Ferris does recommend taking a day a week to eat up to keep hormones from down-regulating. Ah, I have an excuse - I have a dinner concert Saturday and if I can get some lamb curry, man I am doing it. I used to quietly do this for sanity - I didn't know it was a weight loss strategy!

I have insulin resistance-my posts are biased for this! High fructose diets destroy liver's insulin sensitivity. Glutens bind up insulin and leptin receptors, interfering with satiety. Industrial vegetable oils contribute to inflammation of the liver that is part of metabolic syndrome. Read archevore/Kurt Harris for more info. Exercised muscles will up regulate insulin receptors. |

Amber - the whoosh fairy will visit you now! It usually happens when you can't exercise. She is empathetic!
I'm down one pound after being back on the potato hack - reversed my Valentine's 3-day weekend gain and down a bit more - I am happy with that! Good work ladies!!! |

Ok I would like to join in I need help being pushed to stay on track.
Here is my story in Jan 2006 I joined a weight loss clinic and followed it to the letter but did not lose so I started researching and found I had insulin resistance. I went to my Dr and said I need help this is what I have and I want to take Metformin. She agreed to help me for 1 month and if I was still not losing she would not give me more meds. I lost 15 pounds in that month following the weight loss clinic diet and taking my pills. I lost 155 pounds in 18 months but have gained back some (50) because I can't stick with the weight loss clinics diet for the rest of my life. So this year I decided I would join weight watchers. I like it I can cook and have great meals every day and no I don't lose as fast as the clinic but I am losing. I want to get down to 150 and see how I feel and look from there. Even with gaining some weight back I consider myself a weight loss winner. Not many people keep off the weight I have for this long. I will never be like I was before but at 5 foot tall I still have a ways to go.

Natosha, glad to see you over here.... I personally can eat the same thing 7 days a week and never tire of it, but Amber is right.... try to not stay on the same thing for long periods with out mixing it up some to add variety whether it is in spices etc or just adding some allowed vegies! You dont want to get burnt out and give up.
Lensie greate to see you back here too! Everyone else...... that includes Lensie & Natosha too! |

Hello all, just checking in to say hi. So far I'm doing okay with food here in London but it is a challenge eating out all the time, I really feel for pople who live here and are eating LC. I was in a little country pub and ordered a burger without the bun. The man looked at me quizzically and said "Now, how am I going to make a burger without a bun?" like I was asking him to reinvent the wheel. I said, just put it on the plate and I'll eat it with a fork. Then they really looked at me cross eyed later when I asked them to pack up my leftovers. They do not do that here in the UK. They found me an old plastic ice cream tub and put the food in that. It was the first time anyone had ever taken away food from that pub.
They have very carb laden food here too. Things like "pasties" filling wrapped in pastry dough, "pies" meat and veggies with dough and with mashed potatoes, lots of batter dipped and fried foods, "mushies" mushed up green peas, "chips" french fries with everything including breakfast. Plus there is no frig or microwave in the room which would make eating in a lot easier. Luckily I am keeping my diet cokes out on the window sill since it is so cold. Amber- Good luck with the move! Lenise- Great job getting back on plan. Cindy- WTG with counting the steps, I have a pedometer I never use. I need to pull it out and get to it. Sherrie- Awesome loss! It really does work when you stay on plan. Welcome Tania!
