Hi!
I gained four pounds two weeks ago - ss I was soooo embarrassed didn't post it. Back on track now - I hope! I felt so deprived, I went nuts - I ate every sugar free - jello, pudding etc I had in the cupboards.
So much of this losing is a head game for me! Coleen |

Ah, yes, going off plan is no big deal...being on plan most of the time, and always coming back and never giving up, I believe that is what matters!

I really am following...
Just not on the internet much except for fermenting sites Goal is to get back around 167 and stay there while cooking for the family again. Scale going in the right direction ~ saying NO to the things I know my body doesnt like Kids & everyone gone for the second day in a row... feeling a little lost Have to find something to dive into to keep me busy during times like this Got the exercise room set up... guess I need to put music in there and make that my project... Update on grankids... grandaughter turns 11 this month...she has been gaining weight all year despite all my efforts... really tired too! Got her thyroid tested a couple weeks ago and the TSH was 426.345! Have her on Rx right now and she is not so tired, looking better, skin has cleared up & she is happier... Has appointment with Endocrinologist on Friday in Louisville. Can you imagine at her young age...dr didnt want to test her because she said that doesnt happen to girls til they get into their mid teens... I insisted! Good thing! Now maybe we can see some progress for her.. Hugs everyone! Watch your game plan for dining/snacking during the big game tomorrow. ![]()

Janet - Good news!!! Woot!!!!
iamfaithful - I'm not into the superbowl, but would like to catch the halftime show if I'm around. I might much on seaweed if I want to snack. The potato diet is low in minerals and seaweed is high in minerals with neglible calories. |

OK, Im reading Ray Cronise's blog now. He's a NASA scientist with these novel ideas on how to hack weight loss. He says exercise really doesn't burn as much in calories as you think, especially when you subtract what you would have burned anyway just being alive.
So, he recommends doing things like exercising in cold weather! Also, swimming is great because you expend so much trying to kepe your body temperature up. You burn a lot more calories trying to stay warm than you do exercising. I really didn't know that! So I went for my bike ride last night with no coat. Think I'll wear gloves next time, good grief. Also, he says to do little things at first like turn down the thermostat and wear fewer layers. Sleep with a light blanket. I'm doing all this starting last night. I'll have to read again - he does give temperature recommendations, like don't walk with no coat in freezing weather because youll get walking hypothermia. Also, cool baths or showers, not cold (I know, not sure I can do that anyway). I think he started the potato hack. So this holding down calories with potatoes (honestly, you can't eat very many) plus chilling...it seems like it would have to burn some pounds!

Industrial vegetable oils contribute to inflammation of the liver that is part of metabolic syndrome. Read archevore/Kurt Harris for more info. Exercised muscles will up regulate insulin receptors. Sounds like a miler form of ct ing. If you go slow and build up, you'll be surprised how cool you can take it. The body adapts andyou burn more cal.s bc of brown fat.

KT- When we were doing the Dukan diet he also was big on the cold, taking cold showers drinking ice cold water all that burns more calories!!! Shivering burns calories, perosnally I hate being cold, LOL I guess that is why my fat hangs on!!! LOL You are doing great though, so keep it up!!!!!
Iam- wow that is something about your GD, did she start her period yet? Maybe once that hits too it will help get some things regulated, but I am glad you insisted on having her tested! I am glad you are monitoring things, I am so worried about moving in with my Mom cause she is going to want to make junk and have snacks around for Bobby, I am going to have to be really careful!!!I just hope settlement comes quickly. We are having wings and sausage dip, and cut up veggies with hummus, we decided we would want to munch. Going to pick up Bobby at Mom's and take the flat screen the movers will not take the flat screen TV's unless we have the original box, well I got rid of that long ago so now I told Mom the Tv's are coming too, LOL Have a fun day, Superbowl ads are always my favorite, so looking forward to those.

Kitty - I have never heard of CT!!! Where have I been? Wow...
Amber - I didn't know this about Dukan, where have I been here too? Anyway, I hate being cold too. I am so screwed since losing 100+ pounds I am so cold. I've been sleeping in down booties and double sweats. So to ease in, I have turned down my thermostat and slept in a t-shirt, socks, still had sweatpants. I actually woke up warm. I wonder if I have just been babying myself? I know I am much colder since I lost weight. Still, I want to give this a shot. I need a pool thermometer or something to measure my bath water. Not going to do ice baths, that's how I feel right now anyway, but maybe just cool baths. I don't want to get hypothermia or anything! |

Look up jack kruse and ct ing. He's done a lot of work in that area and has a site with a lot on it. I did the Leptin reset and it was moving weight though many say it isn't meant for that. Many have lost doing it. Not sure why I got away from doing both. It was making a difference. I'm one hates (mild word to describe it) being cold, but was out in a tank top in cold weather and not cold when doing this! My thyroid meds kept needing o be lowered. My thyroid oc said it was possible hat it was healing itself....the ct'ing? The LR? Combo? Who knows? Going to get back to it....freezing easily again
felt so much better while oing it. Getting my BAB ready in a sec for the week! Ease into it. I just started with changing the shower temp to cooler or as long as I old stand, and then I built that time and how cool up. |

I totally loved the Superbowl, even with the power outage. I watch for the commercials mostly.
Stayed on plan - I ate a TON, but it was all legal so I am happy with that. |

Stall
Good-morning all!
Thanks bejewelme for adding me to the list. I tried watching the Superbowl, it was painful...not that I am a 49er fan...Kaepernick attended UNR, the school that I a currently attending, so I was routing for him. I did however, love to see the reactions of the other team when they won. I ate really clean this weekend. An still no movement of the scales. I haven't cheated since I started induction on January 18th. I am at a stall going on 11 days now. This will be my third time around and the fat is not coming off like it use to. After stepping on the scale this morning, I had a sense of oh, what the he// attitude. However, I barely fit into the seats here at the University so I'll keep on keeping on.

Amazingly enough, I did pretty good yesterday! My only off plan event was 3 beers and some tortilla chips, but it was a lower carb beer (5.5 each) and I didn't have tooooo many tortilla chips, so I'll call it a win!! A little bit of water weight this morning, but I plan on drowning that today! lol
water, water, water! Have a great day ladies!!!!!!!! Oh, Niki, I hear you about it getting harder every time, I really feel like each time I screw up and start over it takes longer for my body to get with the program, but I've found once you stick with it, it will start to lose a little better than it did at first, it's like it becomes more resistant to ketosis at first or something once you've gone in and out a few (hundred lol) times. Who knows, but if you've done it before, you know that all stalls must end! Keep up the good work! ![]()

I did ok for the weekend. I typically eat more carbs and calories on the weekends and usually lose a little on Monday. Bit I am just not losing this week, and even gaining a bit. I believe it is from the antibiotics I am taking for the dog bite I got last week. So hopefully I'll get back on track soon.
Welcome Niki! Iam- you were so right to push to get your DGD's tsh levels checked. Never believe that docs know everything, they are just guessing and going with standard statistics. I hope the endo will get her on track.

I biked 20 miles but hit the wall at 15 miles! I'm not eating enough to fuel hours of biking, apparently. I'll have to eat up more than I did (I ate sushi the night before--not enough!!!).
I have two social events coming up this week. Not sure how weigh in will go now. We'll see. It's 11:14 and haven't eaten yet. Potatoes sort of induce IF...hard to face eating potatoes again today (but have them in my bag when I am reaaaaaaly hungry). Niki - yep, it gets harder all the time! That is my experience - not much happens anymore until I do something radical. Hang in there Last edited by Key Tones; 02-04-2013 at 11:18 AM.. |

Lord yes it gets harder!!!!
What did you all think of Beyonce, she is gorgeous and she can dance but not so much singing, I would have rather listened to Jennifer Hudson then her, but she got some serious hair!!!! I was a bloated sow so today I am being really strict, drinking a ton of water, cleaning out the freezer I found ground lean chicken, that is nasty! But I ate that with some onions over lettuce, I even forgot the cheese, duh!!!!! Which commercials did you like? Um Calvin Klien ad and the prom guy in the Audi, and the Joe Montana stain for Tide were my favorites! |

I loved the elderly folks with Taco bell, and the Budweiser clydesdales of course, but the "God Made a Farmer" one had me sobbing like a baby!
