Decided to be a bum and not exercise last night. Bad decision as I've got two basketball practices tonight, so squeezing in time might be tough.

My legs are sore today. The sad thing is it's not from some great workout. Yesterday at work we were fixing some ground lights on the underside of the truck and I must have squatted down and stood up 20-30 times throughout the course of the project. I guess I don't do that often enough to not get sore from it.

No exercise last night, but I did a lot of running around coaching two basketball practices. It's really hard to teach 1st and 3rd graders any kind of plays other than get ball and go to the basket.

Still good on eats.

I noticed in t-ball any hit is a home run or bust. In the kid's minds stopping on a base is not even an option.

Doing better this week with the eats. A little slack on the exercise though. I've got a cold that I just can't seem to get over completely. It's not bad, just won't seem to go away.

Another no exercise night for me. I need to get it back in gear. At least the eats have been good.

It's been a long week, and I'm ready for the weekend. I've been good for food, but terrible on exercise. I need a little time with the treadmill.

Ooba - keep it up. No football this weekend to throw you off!

Hey guys!
I went AWOL for a few months. Ran outta money for on plan foods (like 6 months with no beef...not happy. Pork chops are ok, but it's just not the same.) and got lazy.

Anyways, not doing anything right I've lost 30 lbs and 3 pants sizes. Weird. I got into a size 42" for the first time in 10 years or more yesterday! My wife is concerned that I've suddenly started dropping weight not exercising or eating anything good. ( We finally got a Del Taco here and I had Big Fat Tacos and Chili Cheese Fries yesterday) I started drinking a LOT of water/sodas a couple months ago, so everybody is bugging me to get checked out for diabetes. I feel fine, No symptoms, other than more bathroom stops.

Now that we have more money, I decided to get my butt back in gear and go hardcore back on Atkins, and start working out again. I bought 15 lbs of ribeye steaks (I get a primal and have Sam's cut it), and I hooked up with Bountiful Baskets to get fresh veggies every week.

I've been totally on plan today (ribeye breakfast, salami and cheese lunch) But yesterday I must have had 400+ carbs. I pulled out the ketosticks from the medicine cabinet to see if I even had a trace yet. The stick was dark purple! Could that be? I've been drinking. I always feel like a raisin in the winter with the heater going all day.

Last time I was here I was 308, today I'm 270...

First day off for me in 3 weeks, I have been burning it at both ends, but also bringing in 2 pay cheques which is awesome for paying down the car i bought a couple months ago

Just didnt feel like getting up today so I took a personal day from my second job,

all the work lately has helped me maintain and actually lose a couple lbs over the last few weeks, feel like I havent been drinking enough water though, so ill get back on that, also fighting a chest thing off as well

exercise for me has been non existent, dont really have time or energy

Haaaa, I was thinking the same thing. I've got a long list of excused queued up if needed though. So far so good though.

berighteous - Welcome back. Nice stock-up on the meat. I always feel better when I have a decent supply of on-plan food. Never want to run out at leave it to myself to make the right choice.

ken - Sounds like a tough schedule. Any time I did anything like that my brain seemed to get fried, couldn't really remember much from the day before. Just had to focus on when I needed to be awake and where I had to be next. When you do go back to a normal schedule, on the first few days off, you'll always feel like you should be somewhere else.

Not a great weight loss week. I ate on plan all week, but slacked mon-thurs on exercise. I picked it back up this weekend and will hopefully show up on the scale this week.

berighteous - welcome back! I love a good stock up on meat!

Ken - I can't imagine working two jobs, but I guess the extra paycheck must be nice.

Ooba - I could you a run for your money on excuses. I've got a million of them!

My diet is still on track, so I'm pretty disappointed. I'm still not making enough time for cardio or weight training. I need a different career - if I could only become a grocery stocker again and make the same amount of money.....

I don't know what the family total is (over 12 pounds total loss), but my son's lost over 6 pounds since the beginning of the year.

I watched a Netflix documentary over the weekend and realized that I haven't been eating healthy. Sure, I've been eating low carb - tons of meat, cheese, and fat - but the vegetables are almost non existent. So, I've got a challenge going with myself that any time I eat, I'm going to eat at least 1 serving of green vegetables first.

I've been having tons of stabbing pains to the left of my sternum, shooting through to my back. My symptoms share a lot of the same symptoms as pancreatic cancer, and it's freaking me out (itching, high blood sugar, pain at the sternum going through to the back, fatigue, etc.)

So, I have a colonoscopy and upper GI scheduled Feb 22nd, and I'm kind of freaked out about that too. Hopefully this is just an ulcer or something treatable.

Regardless of the diagnosis - I'm ready for change and healthier eating.

BeRighteous,

That's awesome that you've made so much progress. Keep up the good work.

Ken,

I can't imagine working two jobs either, but I'm happy that you're paying down debt. My goal is to be debt free so that I can find a job doing what I love.

Congrats to all that are trying.

Doing pretty well. Been getting the exercise in, and eats have been pretty good, not perfect though.

bulk - Hope it's nothing serious. Daily life is stressful enough without something like that on your mind.

I'm in a good groove with eats now. Cravings for bad food are gone, I've kicked the caffeine and aspartame, and have have cut way back on alcohol. Now I just need to keep it up!

bulk - I know it's hard, but being optimistic about those things really does help. Adding stress from worry won't get you anywhere. Hopefully it's nothing serious. Also, like you I'm trying to get better with eating veggies. Dinner usually consists of a piece of meat on the grill and some type of fresh vegetable. Lunch and breakfast is usually not so good. I try to bring some celery or a salad with lunch, but I'm not very consistent with it.

Aargh. Eats have been terrible. All the worst stuff. Back up to 153, from 139 in November.

I finally got my 96" screen for my HD projector. We're hanging it on friday so we'll be ready for the superbowl. Big TV.

No time like the present to get back into it. You were a champ for about two years. I have no doubt, you'll be right back on it with a vengeance.

That is a big TV! Now get some good low-carb snacks and you're set. I'm jealous as I will be suffering on my 46". For a family that watches way too much TV, we're pretty mild with our setup.

echo what bigd said, plus you always get a good drop the first week or so when you clean up your diet. the damage is usually not as bad as first thought. you'll probably find yourself back in the mid 140's rather quickly.

i had a real mental struggle after losing so much weigh in 08'/09' with not always being at my lowest weight. just seemed to dwell on what i gained rather than what i had accomplished in total. it's just hard. never really gets easy.

i'm a good 40 lbs higher than my lowest weight now, so that's far enough away now that i don't seem to focus on that lowest number as much. i'd like to revisit that territory one day, just can't seem to find the motivation at the moment though.
