Hey K- Have you read Dr. Atkins Diet Revolution? If not, it will help you understand the diet and get you going on the right track. Induction is typically 2 weeks or more (many people, like myself, choose to stay on induction levels throughout our weight loss). Keep your carbs under 20 grams a day, stay hydrated, and keep a positive outlook because this diet WORKS! Everybody on this board is so helpful. I've been a member for years, and it is truly the reason I've been successful in losing weight in the past and now. I've lost 30 lbs since October 1st, so yes, if you are dedicated, you could lose 45 lbs.

I agree- you should pick up a book but there is also an induction thread somewhere on these boards in addition to tons of info you find on he net. Google " Atkins induction".

So glad that we didn't get all the snow they predicted yesterday. Very windy and cold but the sun's out. Think I'll take my Rocco for a nice walk around the lake.

Momma wtg on being strong. I wrote down that little recipe you have. Going to try it. Sometime just like something sweet. I make these peanutbutter cheesecake balls and there pretty good. And if you don't like coconut just skip it.

Lisa ss your still not better. Make sure your getting enough fluids in, maybe even some beef or chicken broth. That is one of the side effects, so maybe a big whoosh when your better.

Luca ss your sick to, but the best place to be is home getting some rest. Your doing great on weight loss since the 1st wtg.

Snowdancer your doing great, are you still doing induction or have you moved up yet?

One more week til the last day of the month...How did we all do? What can we do differently in February so we can be "Sexy for the Summer"? For me, I have to plan, plan, and plan meals. I also want to start my treadmill and be careful not to graze on too many calories when I am most comfortable at home on the weekends.

Agree on all accounts. Plan, plan, plan. Don't overdo calories on the weekend.

For me I also track daily what goes into my mouth and what exercise I do this week. When I find myself slacking off on these two things, the scale usually reflects my lack of effort.

I need to get back to the gym. 2 weeks off due to illness but now my motivation to go there after work has suffered. I'm hoping I'm just tired from being sick

I have an entire closet full of jeans that I knew I'd get slim enough to wear again, and I was ecstatic to find that the larger ones fit again. It is such a confirmation of your progress when skinny jeans become normal jeans again.

Can't believe this month is almost over. I agree for Feb. I need to plan plan and stay on plan. We can do this. I see most of us are in the cold snowy areas. So lets think how great we can look in summer clothes, good motivation.

Snowdancer, wtg on the new size almost makes ya feel like you went shopping. I love it.

Lisa it'll take awhile but you'll just right back on exercising. It's been so cold I've been skipping the gym but trying to do some DVD tapes.

i'll be 22 in june and i want to be comfortable in jean shorts and a bathing suit again! 2 summers since i showed off my legs or went to a public beach! i dont do scale unless its every five or six months to see where i am technically at, you are all so beautiful and inspirational! i've done low carb before and now i would like to maintain it as a lifestyle, i have been at it since august, holidays slowed down progress. here is what i eat mostly, along with a multivitamin daily!

grilled chicken
tuna
blueberries
salad (fannys italian dressing)
burger meat
eggs
cheese of all sorts
sour pickles
olives
salami
turkey
cottage cheese
sugar free tasty cakes
josephs sugar free cookies
sugar free peanut butter & jelly w low carb cedars wrap (hannafords)

ZC glad you can join us. I hear you on the bathing suit. I feel the same way. And worse yet I live right on the lake. So the bathing suit I bought last year I really am determined to wear this summer.

Luca wow the scale is really doing great for you this month WTG.

Lori same with you WTG looks like were going to have a great body for summer.

Lisa were you going in 3 weeks, somewhere where it's warm it seams. It'll give you something to look forward too.

Misty- I'm heading down to Marco Island Florida. We have a second home there and February and March are usually when we can get away. But the idea of the bathing suit is ...UGH!! I won't look any worse than last summer but I won't look any better either

Lost a whole 4 lbs this month, but I'll take it. Slow and steady is ok.

Lisa wow Florida sounds so nice especially to get out of all the cold weather.Are you on line there? Hope you can still post here. Just think ahead and think how great you going look in your bathing suit You should take a pic and save it and then other one next time you go back. Be you'll be so surprised how good you look.

Lori your doing fantastic I love the idea of setting mini goals.

Lori Luca and Misty. Way to go kutgw

Misty we have Internet service so I will be checking in daily. I'm getting nervous because I know alcohol will be on the menu so the plan is to stick to low carb beer (ultra) or flavored vodka and club soda. I just hope it doesn't weaken my resolve I do love a yummy frozen daiquiri or Pi˝a Colada but I am determined not to indulge. I'm going to stick to yummy low carb food choices as well... Hopefully

Misti and Lisa thanks! I think it is going to take at lest one more year for me to work out after weight loss to get that great swimsuit body, bit i am looking forward to the summerire than last year. I am actually going to Phoenix today and hope to try my new figure in a swimsuit tonight!
