I'm in but I'm new...have some questions...first one is how can I bookmark this thread so that I don't have to hunt around for it? Also, am I supposed to tell you all what I weighed in at this am? And should I post what I've eaten so far today? And...lol...just kidding...no more questions for now.

Nice to meet you all and look forward to losing with you.

I have no real suggestions but I would eat some protein/fat to help offset the rise in blood sugar and keep reading here for inspiration.

I would like to join too! I've been following the Atkins program since 10/22/12 and at the end of my 10th week had lost 20 lbs. This is the longest I've remained faithful to a WOE for a very long time, and I would like to keep it going in the new year. My first goal is to keep my motivation going and reach a 30 lb. weight loss this spring.

Today was good! I had a protein shake for breakfast and then homemade meatballs for dinner. I think my biggest problem is overeating since everything I make is so good!!

Tomorrow I'm going to work out. I'll probably do some cardio and weightlifting.

I've been faithfully low-carbing since the day after Thanksgiving. I will not weigh, so I will post when I've gone down a pant size. Right now, I'm between a 12 and a 14. I'm small waisted with a big booty and big thighs. Ugh! I'm forecasting that I'll be back in all of my 12's by mid-January. My ultimate goal is to reach a size 10, which I've done once in my adult life, for about 2 weeks. I'd like to reach my goal by May. I'm also in the process of quitting smoking. I feel good and confident! No smokes all day, and I wasn't tempted to eat! Woo hoo! The Lord will give me strength! Hope all of you guys have a great first week of the new year!

Throw away the donuts and anything else that isn't good for you!

I made it to the gym today, 30 minutes on the treadmill. I also went to the store and got more low carb friendly foods.

I want to wear a dress this summer. With heels. I have great legs, its the belly...sigh. classic Apple shape here.

I would also like off my high blood pressure medication. Some days in that order.

congrats to everyone in the challenge for making a healthy start into the new year...i am one that needs to weigh regularly..when i am on a downward spirial i never weigh myself, because i dont want to face the fact that the numbers are going up. when i finally did get on the scale i am at 170,as i said before, my highest weight, that is what pushed me over the edge to get back with the program. i know this way works, lost 20 lbs before(a couple times) and felt wonderful. the first few days are the toughtest for sure..i did good yesterday big omlet for breakfast(late more like lunch) then dinner was pork, sauerkraut and califlower. back to work today packed 2 hard boiled eggs for b, pork for lunch and will have chicken caesar salad for dinner..have to work on drinking more water. will also start back at zumba today after work.(havent gone in about 8 months). i am feeling good about all this. good luck to you all.

Good Morning....

Just got up, weighed myself then poured myself a cup of black coffee (yuck) and came straight to this forum...about black coffee: it took me about 2 weeks of drinking it everyday to get to the point where I could get it down but now I can and your taste buds will adapt...you just have to stick with it...

Down one pound this am...yay me

LatinLover: Feb 17th will be my 5th Anniversary for quitting smoking!!!!! Never, ever thought I would be able to quit, especially since I had smoked (2 packs a days) for almost 25 years...but I did it and I haven't looked back and you can too...a couple of tips to help you if you don't mind?

1. When an urge to smoke hits you like a freight train, say to yourself: I'll give this craving 5 minutes to go away and if it doesn't go away after 5 full minutes, then I'll just cave in and smoke...worked every time...cravings NEVER last more than a couple minutes and every stinkin' time I waited the full 5 minutes, the craving was GONE...

2. When I quit, I scheduled a 3 day weekend getaway to a nearby tennis resort and put on a patch before I left. Spent the entire 3 days away from home and busy playing tennis and hitting the beach at a resort that didn't have any convenience stores where I could buy cigarettes. Worked like a charm...when I got back home the break in my routine was enough to give me a small chance at changing what was nothing more than a bad habit of getting up every morning and drinking coffee while I smoked my morning 3 or 4 cigarettes.

Hope those of you going back to work have a great day

I have new incentive! I am *hoping* we get to take the kids to Disney World this summer at the end of May. This makes me want to lose the weight so badly. I WANT to be able to keep up with my kiddos during the trip. We were suppose to go in 2011 and my little girl fell and broke her arm *a really bad break* 2 weeks before we were leaving so we had to cancel the trip. She had to have surgery and required about a year of therapy to get her arm back to normal function and then November 2011 my brother found out he had luekemia so it has been one crazy ride that is for sure. But we are all here and I am ready to put myself first! Lets do this!

My starting weight is 228.4 I was really close to onederland this summer and then just stopped. I think I have some kind of self sabatage going on and I don't know when it happens or at what point it happens but I get close to onederland *have done this several times* and then just stop. Not this time. This time will be different.
