abs, my condolences on the eggs - i know how much you enjoy eating the same thing 100 days in a row (look who's talking!)...haha!

ff, is the main objective of a salad spinner to throw off the moisture after you wash the veggies?...i love all those gadgets but have nowhere to keep them!...

vicki, they should give you a key to the place...or you might wanna wave everyone down next time and have a meeting at burger king and make the ww people feel guilty :-)

marilee, we will make sure we do the call on a day you can make it...no hurry...

gotta head out to the gym and then spending the day with a friend and driving him to the airport for 6 p.m....

hope everyone has a great friday!

tony, this post u just submitted is 11:05am on the computer

but you probably submitted it 10:05am eastern time. Capt Janeway told ensign Kim not to try to make sense of the time-space continuum. Let us use our time and space for better considerations. Been drinking lots of plain water this morning, and loving it. I know i drink other things for the sole reason that i ALWAYS drink them. I want to continue adding plain water to the daily drinking. Today was a great beginning. F-75 work hours to go-F

I must chime in on the topic of AI. I'm addicted to it but I will say, I've not found anything this year to be jazzed about. Last year in the auditions rounds, I put my money on Philip Phillips immediately so last season was exciting for me. So far they haven't revealed much of the lasting talent. Whenever the season goes like that I'm likely to stop watching. But one thing they toned down quite a bit after the first few episodes was all the Nicki/Mariah diva drama. SO OVER IT. I hate that crap.

Last night made LC chicken lettuce wraps without the lettuce. I've never been coordinated enough to keep the lettuce from breaking and filling to stay in the lettuce and off my shirt. So I eat the filling with a fork. Told boyfriend if he wanted lettuce, go to the store. He made himself hotdogs instead.

B: 2 strong cups of green tea and a Red Bull Zero
L: cup of leftover chicken wrap filling
D: Chicken caprese bake (no balsamic)

I found an awesome, why didn't I think of that, recipe for LC jalapeno poppers wrapped in bacon. Between that and all the buffalo wings and ranch, I can't wait for Superbowl Sunday!!! GOOOOO...football teams? (I'm in it for the food so...)

Hope everyone has a great day!!!

jalapeno poppers

you need:
Jalopenos- sliced lengthwise and scooped free of seeds
Cream Cheese
a little bit of salsa (just a tiny amount to thin up the cream cheese consistency and add more flavor)
Thin Bacon- cut each slice in half

cook the bacon to halfway- mostly done consistency, but not all the way done
roast jalapenos in oven for a few minutes
take jalapenos out of oven
use a sandwich baggie to pipe the cream cheese salsa mix into jalapeno boats
wrap with a piece of the 1/2'd bacon
(you can use a toothpick to keep bacon in place if needed)
back into the oven for about 5-10 minutes to warm the popper and cook the bacon completely.

I think the heat would be between 350-400 on the oven. I stand by the oven and eyeball food a lot...

I can't WAIT to make these Sunday!!!

FF, I bought a farberware salad spinner at walmart for around 15.00 I think. I have only used it once so far so not ready to give it a review yet. I noticed on line (after the fact) that half the people said the bowl cracked after a couple of months so I will be very careful with mine.

Heading to the store at 7 to pick up some more almond meal to make "bread sticks and chips for the snow shoe party at my brother's tonight. Excited that 4 of the 5 of us siblings will be there.

Britt, those poppers are making my mouth water. Anything with bacon and cream cheese has got to be good.

Marilee, are you going to watch the Superbowl? I love the commercials but usually can't stay up that late. I have to watch the commercials the next day on the computer. by the way, your time said 11:37 on my screen and not 8:37. Weird.

Tony, how did you happen to have any leftover ribeye with your big family. lol Your post showed 11:04 on my screen.

Will check back later! Have a great Saturday Blitzers!

ps I went to my user control panel and it says at the bottom "All times are GMT -4. The time now is 07:43 AM." so their time is 1 hour later than est

Abi, it might have been the ICEberg lettuce that cracked it.

Next time, wait till it thaws, or you will have a TITANIC salad disaster. Today is, so far, one of those idyllic in-home Saturdays: blue robe, h ot beverages, AND cold water...I promised I would drink more of that. NYC tap water is the tastiest. Also, today's Metopera Broadcast (Le Compte d' Ory, by Gioacchino Rossini) stars THE GREATEST opera tenor alive today...Juan Diego Florez. F-70 more work hours to go-F

I think the time zone converts to where you are; i.e. mine was 8:47 in Phoenix, which is 10:37 where you are, Tony.

Got to run - the ac/heat pump guy is here for my seasonal check up.

marilee, you will have to explain the time thing a little more slowly...i'm not that bright!...i can't figure out why abi's time and my time are one hour off from each other and we live a couple of hours apart!...

ff, i hope you have something on under that blue robe...we don't want you giving the neighbors thrills when you go out to grab the ny times...

abs, have fun snowshoeing tonight...sounds like it will be a blast!

went to my son's wrestling match this morning and then headed over to target and bought a ninja professional juicer, smoothie maker and food processing machine...it is awesome!...i have decided that when i crave something sweet or frozen, i'm gonna mix in fresh fruit, ice and plain yogurt...low cal and healthy snack if i keep the portions small...i made one today and it was DELICIOUS and very satisfying!...i love this thing!

gotta come up with a menu for super bowl tomorrow as vincent is hosting a super bowl party for a few of his friends...should be fun :-)

Ha Ha!! No, I have been up since 3:30 busy downloading pictures from last night and sending them around to everyone.

We had a great time even though there was not enough snow to snow shoe. ( I don't do that anyway) lol too much exertion!! I didn't even walk the luminary lined path. What a slug!

My brother had cooked hot dogs and they were sitting on his grill. Sil had mades tons of chili and I brought the nacho cheese bread sticks and chips made with almond flour. People said they really liked them. Got home before 9 and dog let me sleep until 3:30 which was so nice of her.

Tony, those smoothies really sound sooo good. And good for you!

Made some of the recipe of cheese rounds yesterday. The first time I made them a couple of weeks ago I did not like them. Too much garlic. I keep reading the tweeks that site is doing to them and so this time used mozzarella cheese and no garlic. Put one in the toaster to crisp it up and it made a nice snack to get me through until my bacon and eggs at 9:15. Some people are using them as little pizza crusts. Linda Sue says they are about 205 calories and 1.5 net carbs. It is not one of her recipes but she really likes them too.

Well, not much to report. Will check back later to see how everyone is doing today. Have a great Sunday Blitzers!

abs, do you make a reservation for breakfast, or just go and wait for a table?...is there a long line?...

as i said, i gotta come up with a super bowl menu for vincent's party later today...he has 4 friends coming over at 5 - it's his first time hosting, so i wanna make it fun for them...he's got a great place to entertain them in the new game room in the basement...i don't think any of the other kids will be around...

debating whether to hit the gym today or take two days in a row off...i know i NEED to pick up my guitar today as i haven't played since i was in nashville and am losing my calluses...ouch!

hope everyone has a super sunday...who will be watching the game?...or attending/hosting a party?...

Tony, we are usually the first ones there as it opens at 9 on sunday. No waiting lines but the place is usually pretty full by the time we leave at 10 - 10:30. It's a small place, maybe 6 or 7 booths and 3 standing tables.

I just made a batch of Linda Sue's meatballs and they are simmering on the stove in marinara sauce. FF, I bought the last jar of Victoria's and when I got home the jar lid was loose and sauce had leaked out. Did not dare to use it so went back to exchange it and had to get newmans'.

I'm sure I won't be watching the superbowl. Two nights in row after my bedtime would be too much. lol

Hope your son has a great party tonight and his team wins Tony!

Hi all, packed up and cleaned out some more this weekend. Including the shed outdoors. We are grateful that it is sunny and in the 30's I can't wait until this is over. The 15th is closing and possession.

I imagine the Super Bowl will be on at our house, who knows. Neither one of us is really into football. My son isn't here, he is at his dad's, so I imagine he will watch the game there. I have homework to do too. I am taking Business Law I, how boring.

I FOUND IT!!!

yes, Abi, my goal is to get people to listen to more opera and classical music. I listen to popular AND classical music. Regrettably, there is very little exposure to classical music in the USA. Try Florez doing AH, MES AMIS from Donizetti's La Fille du Regiment(The Daughter of the Regiment), and then compare it ti my other 2 fave versions from Alfredo Krauss and Luciano Pavarotti-all on You Tube. Tony, pick up that guitar1 The gym will be there tomorrow. I mis-placed my Andrea Bocelli CONCERT IN CENTRAL PARK. I played it 2 weeks ago. I just found it. On the subject of food, I am having pork chops and a veggie. I have not had PCs since Sandy. F-70 work hours to go-F. HAPPY SUPER BOWL ALL!!!

It's perfect weather for the Super Bowl...light rain and gray skies.

ff, I love classical music, but I'm sorry - I can't get into opera.

Vicki, so glad everything is going well with the move. The 15th will be here before you know it. Why are you taking Business Law? Just curious....

Have a great rest of the weekend everybody.

well ff, you'd be disappointed in me, but i went to the gym today and have not picked the guitar up yet, but it's only 8:15, so there is still plenty of time...

my son's party is in full swing and it seems to be going great...6 h.s. juniors are eating and giggling in the dining room while dw and i are hunkered down in the living room, keeping them supplied with food and drink, but staying out of the way...

i made them chicken wings, cheeseburgers and hot dogs, onion rings and french fries, a veggie platter with ranch dip and will make them nachos, guacamole, and other dips later...set up a burger bar for them with grilled onion, chopped onions, tomato, lettuce, bacon, grilled jalapenos, and all the condiments you can imagine...

so, i had a great workout and am feeling so much stronger every time i go...i really am starting to feel great - i haven't felt this strong and fit for many, many years...i am increasing the weights and my distance and speed on the treadmill are improving with each visit...i am getting noticably more muscular, but still have a pretty good layer of fat covering everything, as i am still at least 30 lbs. away from where i was when i used to go to the gym regularly, 24 years ago...

okay, gotta get back to my job as waiter...lol...have a great night all!

Tony, your next big venture could be a restaurant. Wow what a feast you prepared for those kids! Did their team win? Feeling strong and fit is wonderful. The layer of fat will go eventually. You are a great inspiration to us all!

Marilee, did you watch the whole game. How were the commercials this year? Any of them memorable?

Vicki, I am also curious about the business law course? Are you moving in a new direction with your career? Good going on packing a little at a time and not getting exhausted doing all at once. Boy, the 15th is coming fast isn't it. Tell us about the new house - new, old, brick, painted, one story or two? Maybe post a picture?

FF, I will check out your suggestions when I get a chance. Remind me next weekend if you remember!

I have some of Linda Sue's meatballs with a little sauce for lunch today. May have a toasted cheese round before I leave for work if I feel hungry.

Have a wonderful day Blitzers!

Tony, I have not purchased a newspaper in over 10 years., Tony

i get the NY Post and NY Newsday in the recyclable bin in the incinerator room, and only for the crossword puzzles, if the neighbors did not garble them first. The NY Times are much too expensive. Even the tabloids are a dollar a day. In my day, they were 3 cents, and the NY Times, the Herald Tribune, the World Telegram & Sun, and Journal American (the last 3 all defunct), just to name a few were 5 cents. Why would anyone consider paying any more than that? Also, the world is in no better shape today than then. The pork chops were delicious, btw. I had 1 level T of applesauce (unsweetened) with each. they were about 1/3 inch thick. But they were gooood! F-70 work hours to go-F

Yep, Abi, I watched the whole game. And, I really liked one commercial...Bud Light's ad with the Clydesdale horse. They are alway so good and heartwarming.

Well, it's Monday. Back to work. This weekend flew by.

Tony, the party sounded like a lot of fun. It would have been hard for me to stay in the other room and not join in!

tony, u are 1 super dad. i am preparing the adoption papers right now!
