Day 13/30
Another binge free day and the scale is not moving.
Biochic - woohoo! Congrats Lizzie - I feel your pain! Same here, binge free but scale is not moving. Like a maniac I'm carrying the scale from tile to tile and re-weigh - lol. I'm "expecting" better numbers in the morning ;-) |

Jeanie, when an athlete falls down, she doesn't go back to the beginning and start over. She just gets up and continues the race. Frustration, yes, I get it. No shame. You did really well with just one slip. Keep on going girl. Don't let one bad day derail you.
![]() BTW: I am not making my numbers every day for my other challenge (see signature), but am doing so much better than if I didn't set the goals that I consider it a win. Last edited by cici52; 01-12-2013 at 03:16 PM.. |

Can I jump in too please.
I really need help with emotional eating. Anxiety and stressful situations undo all my good work all the time. It doesn't take much either. The least wee thing and I find myself wandering, zombie-like, into the kitchen on a carb and sugar hunt ...Maybe If I make a commitment to post more it will help me to stay strong. |

Thanks everyone. I also started a written journal in hopes that I can maybe pinpoint where/when the trouble starts, it seems to be hormonal. I don't get a TOM, but I still think I experience a hormonal shift that often starts the binging process.
Hi Delores! Yes, post often |

Yikes!
So I know I've said before that I'm an all or nothing person. Well this weekend proved it to me! Had an apple, an apple! for a post 5k lunch (with cheese and PB) and it's been all down hill since then! Wowsa!
Back on tomorrow and considering it a re-start bc I've had bad carb creep and not been strict with plan recently. |

Day 15/30
Another good day other than TOM being here in a visit.
Hi Dolores and welcome. I have the same problem. When I stress - I need food. Mental fuel. I dont really need food but I think it helps me get thru it. Emotional Eating. I bought a OA Book on Amazon and it helps reading in it. |

I am finding my JUDDD DDs to be a problem. Restricting all day sets me up for really strong urge to eat in the evening. Still VLC and low cal but eating almost half the days total calories in the evening, turning half my DDs into mid days. Frustrating. I think this is a common problem for very low calorie diets. Had hoped that doing it just every other day would be easier. In theory, the body should not be suffering. Guess it is mainly the brain that is the problem. Continue on, not wanting to give up. It is all progress. ?

The only thing that has ever worked for me to control binges is stopping cold turkey. And I don't know why sometimes I can do this. I've done it with other things too, like smoking, relationships. I think I just get to the point where my mind clicks( and I don't have control over this) and says enough. Is that strange? So I think contol here is the issue, and being out of control. So for me, I think that is why Judd helps, because on the DDs I have to mindfully CONTROL my calories, and that gives me the confidence and the experience with controlling my WOE. Does that make sense? another thing I've heard people say here is "mindfulness" not sure how to define that term, but it makes sense to me. Like you are cognizant in the moment. Which we barely ever are in binges. |

Yeah, I have quit smoking and binge drinking. I get to a point where I must stop- no choice as I am making myself physically/mentally ill. Then some time passes and I am right back to binging, kinda like childbirth you forget the painful parts!

16/30 - ok
contemplating - I guess a binge free day. I had 3 atkins bars, no wait 4 for a total of 14 carbs. BAD However I kept it low carb the rest of the day going to 21. So technically I didnt binge, but having those bars kicked my right out of ketosis. Ugh.... It takes me days to get back.. I guess... hanging in there. I just went to the fridge to get cheese.... then decided not too. Im not really hungry, just habbit i guess.
jeaniem - good job day 4 - YAY I hear you about the binging. I quit smoking too and didnt have no alcohol the entire pregnancy so I weaned myself of that too. Im always making myself more stress then necessary, overthinking things and worrying. Its emotional and physically exhausting. Well we are in a new year - time to make some changes and stick with it! ;-) |
