We've been away (down in the Corpus Christi area) since Thursday, and so much has happened here on our thread!

Jo, I'm so sorry for the loss of your nephew. The news article sounded like he was a fine young man. And, yes, the loss of a child is a heartbreak that never ends.

Bonbon! We're glad to have you with us!

Cheryl, you guessed wrong -- I was never a cat-hater as a child. I always wanted one, but my mother never let me have one. She was afraid of them -- the old wives tale that they would steal your breath away while you were sleeping!

But I did have a dog!

Deb, we have 18 acres of land, not much by Texas standards. At the height of our cattle raising (meaning before the two droughts) we kept most of the herd on a nearby thousand acre ranch and kept the pregnant heifers here in the home pastures so we could keep a closer watch on them until they calved. We're completely out of the cattle business now, though. I miss watching the calves, but not the work involved.

Laura, our fig tree is budding out and dh is grumbling that he may have to mow the lawn this week -- have you been seeing signs of spring too? Enjoy your 8 days off with the hubby!

Dh and I did a bit of outside work today -- some in the veggie garden and flower beds, cleaned the purple martin houses and moved the bathouse to what may be a better location.

Rbenz, we love our mind/body classes, don't we? I was slow joining my Pilates classes, but now I hate to miss one! 'Course it dosen't hurt that our Pilates group has parties and luncheons together, too, just for fun!

We are taking off in the morning ( oh yeah, it's already morning

) ~~ the cabin online that we liked the most in Ruidoso said it was available, but when I called to book it they said they didn't update the calendar . Boo.....;/

So , I told DH let's just drive until we find snow and stop and stay around there for a while. There are plenty of places out there that will let us bring Allie. We'll have fun and I'll get to see SNOW ! I love it !

hope you all had a good day. I'm exhausted, but excited to go somewhere

Doing laundry at 3am - had to work over 13 hours today - super busy - so I'm doing laundry and packing a few things before I sleep a few hours. DH will be home at 8am and not sure if he is gonna nap or we will just take off .

Hope everyone had a nice weekend. We went to a SuperBowl party yesterday and of course all the yummy food and drinks that go along with it. So glad I didn't have to work today.

Jo SS to hear about your Nephew. Sending hugs and prayers to you and his family.I lost my son a year ago and I know what his Mom is going through. Did you go snowshoeing with your DS. Sounds like alot of fun but really cold. I've been ice skating on nicer days. Sure feel it in my legs.

Deb hope your back feels better. Think your body has to get used to the yoga thing. cassarole sounds good. Sounds like you could actually use it as a dip.

Had a good morning at the gym and even got a nice walk in. 28 out but nice and sunny.

Deb maybe if you just make some nice soup it'll help your stomach. Did you get L/B Kindle yet. I love my new one. I just downloaded a bunch of books and games. I love my new one. The Kindle Fire HD is like a mini computor, think I'll give my GD my other one.

i went and bought a ton of veggies and made a big batch today..extra veg for the next couple of days so we will see how that goes

L/B took me to the leather store and bought me a nice leather purse to go with my cow-boy boots and jacket..

still im hoping for something shiney for V-Day

So glad we got out of town and can get outside and get some exercise . Got on the elliptical here tonight.....wow, it's exhausting. I'm so out of shape ;/ I got on the recumbent bike too..liked it :0 Then DH and I got in the hot tub
