I think I am ready to make my plan.
1. lose 4 pounds 2. exercise of some type every other day 3. drink more water 4. eat HEALTHY on UD's 5. will not try anything in addition to JUDDD (it works the way it is) So I have my New Year's Resolutions in combination with the Valentine's Day Challenge so I should be ready to roll. Today is an UD and I WILL eat HEALTHY. NO JUNK. NO JUNK. NO JUNK. |

First DD of 2013
![]() Woke up bloated from combo of TOM & a lot of salt in the ham I ate yesterday. ![]() I plan to have just coffee & whey protein meal replacement shakes for at least the next two weeks of DDs, for a 300 cal. max. Just the idea of drinking frozen shakes on this frigid cold day is motivation enough for me to get at least 30 min. of exercise on my elliptical machine today. Crazy, no-calorie-counting NYE - so many carbs - so much sodium - booze, um...yeah. SO MUCH FUN!
Great DD yesterday (Jan 1). Black coffee and 5 HB eggs all day. Felt great! Today is carby - eating up some goodies still hanging around. But I WILL stay within my UD calories today. No exercise yet - tomorrow? |

I was away from an Internet connection for a few days and felt like I was going through withdrawal by not being able to check on on this board. It's good to feel all the positive energy here, and even to have some successes to congratulate already (Joan and Melanie, for example).
I'm having a pretty easy down day and planning to keep up with the Jane Fonda Prime Time workouts tonight. |

DD yesterday was hard but I came in just over 600 cal which is pretty typical for me. I'm down 1 lb. since starting the challenge.
I found a workout that is perfect for me on PBS called Classical Stretch. I feel great after doing it today. |

so far so good... 5 days down... 41 to go!
one of my best best friends is coming to visit tomorrow for 1.5 days ![]() so that will be an interesting DD... my plan is to do coffee all day and make a fish and veggie light dinner for us... then Friday is an UD which will be easy, and she leaves at 9 am on Sat. I also have a very intense work schedule coming up (eg Monday 7th is a 9 am to 10 pm day ), so thank goodness that is an UD per se... but I will just take it one day at a time... the worst will be over by Jan 20th. My former FIL from my former marriage of 25 yrs died today... a blessing as he had had Alzheimers for many years... and also, of course, sad. Strange for me... I have no contact with exH's family, or really exH except for need-to-know re our kids/dog... but I am supporting my kids (sadly, none of them close to FIL, nor was I, or even truly my exH), and will send my former MIL a card. I also have kept our dog so that my exH and kids don't have to deal with her while out of town. I am trying to just be with my feelings, as mixed as they are, rather than numb out with food... and today was just a regular UD, so I feel good about that.

Good job Toora. I went through something similar when ex-DH's mother died. It's a weird feeling.
I just got back from Zumba. I used my HRM and burned 565 calories in the hour long class. It was fun! That's 2 trips to the gym this week. Only need one more for my challenge. I have a meeting with the personal trainer on Saturday, so if I go again before then, it's just gravy. ![]() |

Well.... I blew today's UD am over in calories a LOT. Homemade clam chowder and sourdough bread to thank for that.
But... Tomorrow is a new day. So far in my challenge I am doing alright otherwise. I have found an app for my IPad to track my calories and I have done so for the past 4 days!! And tomorrow will be the start of my potato fast. Will plan on at least 3 days, and may do 4-5 days. I work almost every weekend because I manage a restaurant, so weekends should be easier for me. I hope that after this it will help my rotations on UD and DD stay under my calorie allotment!! My neighbor is also trying to lose weight, and she is going to do 3 days with me! Fun! Anyone else want to join?? Good luck everyone!

Oh boy. I wound up about 200-300 calories over this UD. Two drinks instead of one, and then a larger piece of cake than I planned. It was almost gone, and would have been dumb not to just finish it, ya know?
Oh well. I'm not worrying about it. Tomorrow's DD will be a great one! |

Truffles I did a pot day yesterday and plan on doing one again today. I would like to do 3-5 days. I do get very very hungry after eating and need to step away and remind myself not to give into hunger but then I seem ok. Last time I loss my appetite after day 3. I am hoping that happens again. I just need to make it there.
How do u feel on the pot diet?? |

Toora... I am sorry for your exes family. The disease is awful to watch. My MIL suffered too! She will be gone almost a year. It's awful to say but a blessing when she finally pasted.
