My goals are pretty simple:
-Work out 5 days a week (I have all the classes lined up that I want to do, i just have to GO TO THEM) -Avoid sugar like woah (not easy but an absolute must) and -fit comfortably (not squeezing like i am now) into my size 8 dress pants. Good luck all! |

Okay, I'm in guys! I've been thinking long and hard, and want to have my goal be a challenge, but also realistic enough that I can actually do it. So here goes:
* Lose 10 pounds between 12/31/12 and 2/14/13 - goal weight 224 * Callanetics 10 in 10 DVD, completing the 10 hours (probably won't do full 60 minutes in any one day) * Keep (most) DDs high fat, and UDs controlled carb This will really keep me focused! |

Didn't exercise yesterday as some chest pains showed up that scared me a bit. Couldn't identify why as nothing I did increased or decreased them. They went away in the evening and haven't returned so back to exercising today.
Took dogs for walks in the cold, fresh air. Three times around our loop for an hour. I figured I better walk after yesterday and it felt good!!! |

I'm pretty sure I found the motivation to stay on the treadmill. I now have a goal to shoot for instead of just saying "I'll work out 3x a week". That never worked before. But since I took that One-mile walk test and saw my results were poor, I have a number to improve.
I'm pretty out of shape, my first time was 17:30, today it was 16:20. My shin pain is what is slowing me down. It's excruciating when I start to run, so I looked it up and apparently it's shin splints? I just need to stretch and go easy until it heals I guess. I may need some new running shoes, Oh the humanity...must go shopping ![]() wildflower, I'm glad you are feeling better today, don't let chest pain go, that makes me worry for you! I hope it doesn't come back, but if it does, please see a doc ![]() |

Fun! Count me in. I want to work on establishing some healthier habits, so here's my goals:
- 120 mins aerobic exercise a week - count calories for at least 75% of up days - reduce eating out, more home cooked and less processed food - decrease carbs and increase protein on up days, starting with trying to get <175 g carb and >80g protein. - 5 fruits/veg on up days, 2 veg on DD - have fun! Rough day last night. I got called in to wk and wasn't prepared. I may revisit starting the pot or go right to Juddd. Part of my goal is to show patience. I need to remember that today. The last few days have not turned out as planned. Do I continue to beat myself up or figure what plan will wk for me. I have an unexpected party tonight. Since the week is not going as planned maybe I should start up tomarrow. ??? Not sure
Adillenal I love Teresa tapp. I have tried several times and find that my back hurts too much. I know it's me and my form but I don't have trainer in area to help out. I may try the MORE tape. That may be where I need to be. I try and go 0-360 to often Sven thanks for the review

Checking in.... I'm doing well, down 1 lb, 9.8 to go!
I went and brought that 3 month family membership to the fitness center, so that will start tomorrow. By next week I want to be on a roll working out 3 times a week. Fingers crossed it won't make my weight loss stall.... I started a journal today, link is in my siggy! Everyone appears to be doing well! Keep it up! I'll be back to "weigh in" on Wednesday or Friday. |

I've set my weight goal at 175 by Valentine's Day. Also want to start walking again, so I plan on walking 50000 steps per week which is around 25 miles. I will start January 1st, this will be my first challenge. Great way to start the New Year.

I went to the gym this morning. I tried to go to the Zumba class, but it was cancelled, so I just walked on the treadmill and did a few leg machines. 44 minutes and 268 calories burned per HRM.

Well, I'm back to put my goals in writing!
![]() Goal is to weigh 145 by 2-14-13. That will be goal for me. By valentine's day I may decide to lower my goal weight to 135-140. That's not really a goal for me right now. But, I will need to decide one way or the other. I also want to begin to walk again. Since I've had so many foot surgeries, walking is better than jogging or running. When I first quit smoking (9&1/2 yrs ago) I started walking a half a mile & worked up to 3 miles a day. I would love to do that again. I don't remember why I stopped. I live in the middle of no where & walk on dirt roads. Since we had our last family christmas dinner yesterday, my weight is up by 3 pounds from day before yesterday. That means I have 10 pounds to lose. So........here are goals for me by 2- 14-13: 1. Attain goal weight of 145 2. Decide whether to lower to a new goal weight or begin maintenance 3. Start a walking regimen & work up to 3 miles daily We can do this JB's!! ![]()

we're off to a good start... and I know more will be joining tomorrow or Jan 2. I finished my 3rd day today... Xmas started on the 22nd for me, and pretty much a week of UDs with a few UUAADs for good measure, so I am am happy to get back on track (don't you hate the way you can gain 2 lbs in a week, but it might take 4 weeks to lose
? I know the rotations help, but I am still a slow loser/fast gainer, so yippee, back on track.I was a bit grumpy on my first DD... by about supper time, I am probably a bit low blood sugar or something, cuz I get impatient and crabby. Poor BF ! Tomorrow is a DD... I will try some possibly more satiating options (haven't had BP coffee in a while and also try to be less crabby even if I do feel "starving" (that and being more grateful, two sides of the same coin, are my NY resolutions re character). Hope to x-c ski again tomorrow... we live where snow is unreliable, and rain/sleet can wreck it fast, so here is hoping. happy New Year everyone and here's to a healthy, vibrant, 2013!

Today is my first UD of 2013! I had an awful night. Somehow, I ended NYE with a bad gut! Up & down all night long.......trips to the bathroom. Ugh!

I hope you feel better soon Shari. I know all this rich food around this time of year makes me feel a bit off. I am looking forward to a more regular diet now.
As far as the challenge goes I am 2 pounds further away from my weight loss goal after my over the top New Years Eve UD and I did a 1 hour run yesterday and apparently I couldn't find time to do my 1 minute of push-ups. I think I will try to pick a time that this goal will be done. Maybe before I have coffee in the morning I have to do my push-ups.

NYE was a killer for me calorie wise but I did my 30 Day Shred yesterday early and forced myself to do it today. MD for me today but have not had anything yet so will probably have a nice dinner and hope that fast five will give me some scale advantage. I am up about a pound from NYE but it should be worse. I think I might be dehydrated from the alcohol and might be in for another bounce up tomorrow. Ugh.
Hopenyounfeel better Shari. And good for you Babs on the push ups. I find them really hard which is exactly why I should be doing more of them! Happy new year all! May this be a year of health and progress for all! |
