Thanks sven & Babs! My weight has pretty much stayed the same(147-149) I'm really surprised by that! I guess because I felt better yesterday, I ate more, so my weight jumped to 150.6 this morning. I just quit worrying about staying on plan until I feel better. It's difficult to count calories in between sniffs, coughs & snorts!!
![]() Babs, I'm not sure I'll make my VD goal either. But, I'm not concerned! That is a HUGE bonus for me! Never, ever did I expect JUDDD to help me stop obsessing about my weight or my weight loss!! Who da thunk it?!!!

Shari, glad to see you back & hear you're recovering well from your recent illness. Usually my visitors from out of town bring along a virus that infects me and the grandkids. As an unwelcome parting gift. Temps are back into the 20's this morning and it's snowing again. Hopefully in a couple of days, Phil the ground hog will predict spring's arrival in 6 more weeks. ![]() My weekly weigh in today of 147.6 is nothing much to brag about, but it's progress. None the less, it's incredibly slow at the rate of 1/2 pound a week. ![]() I'm considering converting to the 5:2 IF plan the 1st of Feb. To see if that raises my slower than poop metabolism any.Babs & Melanie, you've got it going on! Have a great day JBs!

Hi Shari! I was wondering about you. Sorry you've been sick but glad you're on the mend. Was it a nice visit with your sister?
I'm on track to meet my weight loss goal for Vday, but am falling woefully short on my Callanetics goal. I've been cleaning and scrubbing everything in sight both at my house and at my mom's in preparation for company. I've considered that my workouts lately! Hopefully I can get back to it after the 10th. Everyone's doing great, and I love coming here to see how everyone's doing.

I had a bit of a whoosh this morning, getting back to my January 8 low of 179 pounds.

162.2 this morning, but I was sick yesterday and had a very low DD, so that number may not be accurate. I have not made it to the gym this week either. 5:2 seems to be agreeing with me though, at this point, so I'll keep plugging along and see what happens. I'm hoping to get back to the gym next week. I miss my Zumba classes!

Sven, Carly, Dawn........AWESOME! You are rockin' it!
I had a new low this morning, met my January goal, and 1 pound from my Vday goal. I think it's realistic as I'll be eating more during my aunt's visit until the 10th. |

Now I know why I've never joined a challenge before...........I suck at it!!
I ended the month the same weight I started at! And I haven't even started to walk. I really just want to feel good again. I can't believe this crud has kept me down for so long! Revised goals: Still keeping my goal weight at 145. Just walk!! From there I'm not sure what I'm doing. ![]() |

Hey, revised goals are perfectly reasonable and downright sane. I've revised mine, too; no exercise beyond walking and stretching, and keeping my DDs as low as possible and mostly fluids with a little fat. Unless my weightloss picks up a good deal (which almost never happens), I'm going to end just a couple of pounds lower than where I started, but I'm still glad that I participated in the group and got to know you all better.

So I have found a way to prioritize working on upper body strength and those push-ups. I have fractured a bone in my foot! After Christmas I accidentally dropped our metal Christmas tree stand on it and I thought it was getting better but apparently not. So it looks like push-ups and core work has moved to the top of my fitness list. I am still doing spin classes until I hear from the specialist, but I think it is safe to assume running will be out for awhile. I am feeling more optimistic lately that I will be able to get to my weight goal by Valintines. As of today I have 3 pounds more to lose, but they are pounds that don't like to leave.

I used my resistance band a few times, but it really bothers my right elbow- ouchy....
In 2006 before I had my spine done I was falling a lot. One night I fell in our bedroom (hard wood floors) and caught myself with my right elbow. It was never really the same after that, but since I've been back on the meloxicam it hurts much less- except for the resistence band- phoo-y! My arms need serious help!!!! I'm going to try again and see if it was just the first few times and maybe my elbow will get over it.

Resistance bands are probably a really good idea to use for upper body work. I know I bought one for some physio exercises that were recommended to me a few years ago after a shoulder injury. I think I need to write up some kind of plan for myself to get motivated.
Sorry that it hurts your elbow Carly. I wonder if you could change the angle a bit to alleviate the problem. I can imagine that working on arm strength would be more challenging with back issues. |

Me three!
![]() Babs, holy courageous woman...you ran a marathon and a half on a fractured foot? Carly, is there anyway you can gain access to an indoor pool? Swimming and water aerobics will be easy on your joints and firm up your muscles in no time. Seems we got ourselves embroiled in a hot debate on the regular JUDDD forum over our hormonal imbalance issues. So what else is new? ![]() |

![]() I'm toward the end of my DD of 100 calories of fluids with a little fat and feeling great. I never would have guessed that no-food DDs would feel better (at least sometimes) than lowcalorie food DDs ... Well, that's good news for me. |

Down a pound today, after an excellent 100 calorie DD of fluids yesterday.
I'm looking forward to my UD today, and to temperatures possibly going up to 15 degrees today, which is, sadly, a big improvement in the weather. |

I spent 3 hours at the outdoor range today playing with my rifle and handguns. Does that count toward gym time?

I only have 2 more WIs until Valentine's day (one of the WIs is actually ON V-day) so I am hoping to get my 20lb charm at TOPS. I have 2 lbs to go! Today will be probably a MD since I am going over to someone's house to eat but I would prefer not to go overboard since they don't cook very healthy. I like my UDs to at least have mostly healthy food, if I'm going to stuff my face! LOL Tomorrow will be a DD and I already planned on bringing a few of my coconut chai teabags to work so I will have something to drink all day and keep me from the junk that I'm sure will show up in the lounge again! Good gracious those people eat a lot! I'm glad I'm not going to a super bowl party. That would be junk junk junk. They even had super bowl cupcakes at the bank when I went on Friday. Really??? What is goin on in this town????? LOLOL

I haven't been able to make it to any of their range days yet, but they sound like fun. People look at me all crazy because I look conservative, then they get to know me and I'm actually very liberal, but then I confuse them when I mention I shoot and own guns. I'm a crazy blend of ideals. ![]() |
