Wow you ladies are on fire! I have not had such luck the last 2 weeks. I have been sick so my eating has been screwy and no exercise to boot. I weighed in last night at my TOPS meeting and was not too upset though. I stayed the same which is better than gaining at least. I had a stellar DD yesterday evenwhen I got to work and saw that some evil person set out a huge platter of goodies like those big black and white cookies and muffins. I just looked the other way everytime I has to make copies in the lounge. It was hard! Anyway, I am hoping to finish out January with a nice loss so I need to make every day count! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

[QUOTE=wildflower;16216684]Sven, glad your day was better. I just got the Jane Fonda firm and burn - do you like it. I haven't tried it yet, but it's on my list. QUOTE]

Hi, Arlene, I just tried out the Jane Fonda Firm and Burn. I'll have a harder time learning it than Fonda's other Prime Time DVDs, because there's more choreography (especially in the Latin section), and sometimes she doesn't explain the steps well. (I don't know how to mambo or cha-cha-cha and find it hard to figure out just watching the steps of others.) But it seems like a good aerobic workout, movement without jumping and joint strain, and that's all to the good. Have you tried out any of the Fonda Prime Time DVDs yet?

I've already got my 3 wrokouts in this week and have Zumba scheduled for tomorrow, if they don't cancel it due to weather.... Fingers crossed they won't!

Valentines Day goal weight ~ 184

12/27 ~ 194.8
1/2 ~ 193.6
1/11 ~ 196.2
1/17 ~ 192.2
1/25 ~ 190.6

4.2 down, 6.6 to go

I know I'm not gonna make my goal weight, but I would love to be firmly in the 180's!!!!

The only other one I have is Fit and Strong which I like.

I didn't make it to my water class this morning. Don't know what happened: I set my alarm - remember hearing it and usually hit snooze, but I must have turned it off as when I woke up it was too late. so I'll have to do something else. It's snowing again so many more shoveling or maybe the Firm and Burn!!

I really like the Jane Fonda Prime Time "Trim, Tone, and Flex" workout, too.

Sorry you missed your water class; I hope you worked out a good alternative workout.

I only made it to the gym twice this week. DH has started working Thursday nights so that's out for now (he has to leave before my class is over and daycare at the gym closes in the middle of my class--How rude!). I may figure out a schedule next week where I'm doing weights and cardio without a class on Thursdays so I can be done early enough to not screw up his schedule.

We're taking the train to Sacramento tomorrow, early, so I won't hit the gym then either, BUT we won't have a car, so we'll be walking everywhere in Old Sac. I'm going to count that as my 3rd trip to the gym for the week.

I'm glad to hear it Arlene! I've totally gotten off my routine this week. I'm hoping to get a couple of workouts in next week before my aunt comes to visit for a week. I may even be able to get some in while she's here. I think she sleeps later, so I'll have some time in the mornings. Good for you for keeping up the exercise!

I finally got a new low today, after 12 days of up down up down! So I now have 4 pounds to go for my Vday weight goal. I think I can still do it, if I don't go crazy during my company!

I'm so impressed with you all! Keep it up!

Congratulations, Lowcarbgal and Melanie! You are doing great with both workouts and weightloss!

I continue to be stuck going up and down the same 3 pounds for weeks, but I'll try to keep staying on plan and working out. I'm going to try some new cardio or yoga DVD workouts, since I did resistence training yesterday.

I've been going up & down the same damn 2 lbs. all last week, since my new low.

Another TOM may be arriving this week too.

Thanks Slimnana, Melanie and Sven! I'm hoping I might have another new low in the morning. I had an excellent 403 calorie bacon day today, and that often helps a lot.

WTG Melanie on your new decade! WooHoo!

I am pretty bummed that I can't go outside to walk. The temps are horrible! I can't wait until spring! I saw a walking DVD at the store for half price so I bought it. It's Walk Away the Pounds 1-5 miles! I can't wait to try the 5 miles. I will attempt it tonight after work. If you don't hear from me later then the 5miles did me in LOL

I hope you like your walking DVD, Kismet. I have a Jane Fonda Walkout DVD and have ordered a Leslie Sansome one. I'm also stuck inside by low temperatures (hovering around zero for the last few weeks), and I find walking DVDs to be a good alternative to walking outside (and they make me sweat more than just walking does).

Yesterday I did an hour at top resistence on my home elliptical machine; today I'm going to do the "Easy Does It" resistence and stretching DVD.

Temps. are finally getting out of the single digits here this week and going into the 40's. So, I think I'll be doing a week of shakes on my DDs to try and get the scale back down under 150 again. I feel like just throwing my damn scale outside in the snow at this point!

I can relate to being irritated with the scale, SlimNana. I think I might put mine away for a couple of weeks; it's just so discouraging to see it moving between those same stupid 3 pounds. I'm going to try to focus on some other goals, like getting healthier and stronger, since I'm clearly not getting skinnier (for now, at least).

I couldn't agree more!

There's a new thread over on the regular JUDDD forum where some of us JBs are choosing an article of clothing in our goal size to work towards for the next couple of months. Come join in with us, if you'd like non scale related motivation.

Thanks, SlimNana. I joined that challenge with a goal of upping my weights for resistence workouts from 8 pounds to 10 pounds.

I'm going to take a few days off from exercising--other than walking to and from work--to see if that gets the scale moving again. But I'll be happy to cheer on others, and I'll try a different hard goal of keeping my down days as low as I can in the meantime.

Didn't make it. I forgot we had a meet and greet at the school for gifted kids here. I won't make it today either as it's the first day of TOM and I'm just not feeling it.

It's a good thing any exercise we manage to do has a beneficial cumulative effect. Even on days we just aren't feeling it or seeing it. I was hoping to go outside for a walk today while the temps. were in the 60's, but it just started pouring rain. So, I'll be going down in the basement to do my cardio later today, after the workmen remodeling my house leave for the day. And before dinner, since on DDs I don't have the energy in the evening to do much of anything but plop in bed early. Even on UDs, I'm no night owl worker outer.

Hope everyone has a progressive DD or UD!
Ann

Hey, y'all!! I've been gone a week due illness! My sister came for a visit last Wednesday & I came down last Thursday with the crud. Sore throat, cough, congestion, laryngitis.......... thought it was allergies. DH & I went to the doctor last Friday, she tested us for the flu; but, it wasn't that or allergies. She said it was an upper respiratory virus! My sister came down with a slight case, our son is now in the middle of it with a low grade fever. I felt better yesterday & woke up this morning feeling yucky again. I still can't talk! I'm sure it's great for the rest of the family! lol!! My sister left this afternoon. I just hope she is well enough to not pass this along to her DH or our parents.

Anyway, I've got lots of catching up to do around here!! If there is something major, would someone shoot me a PM to let me know??

I missed all of you!

Sorry you have been sick Shari. Glad you know what it is and that you are starting to feel a bit better.
Everything is going good for me as far as the weight loss I was hopeful that I would reach my Valentines goal by the end of the month but didn't quite make it. I would have if I didn't keep regaining the weight by going off plan every few weeks! Potatoes have really been helping me out this month and given me the energy to get some of the workouts done. The push-up goal is still not happening for me. I guess I need to do more than just visualize that I am doing them.
