I'm glad that you are enjoying your Zumba class, Dawn. I'm such a klutz that I feel daunted about signing up for something like that, but I guess I should remember that the only way to "faiL" an exercise class is to not show up and do it. Sounds like you have a great attitude!

Oh, I'm a total klutz too. I have no rhythm, and I have injuries which preclude me from doing ALL the moves (broke my hip when I was 20 and have arthritis, plus a congenital spinal fusion), so I have to just laugh at myself and pretend nobody else notices my goofiness.

It's fun enough to make it worthwile, at least to me. I meant to mention too, Melanie, you look a LOT like my Zumba instructor (or maybe she looks like you!). Whenever I see a post of yours, it reminds me to go to the gym!

Lol, that's funny, though I daresay if you could see the view below the neck, you'd prob change your mind! Those wrap around mirrors in the group exercise room are killing me!

Congratulations on your losses, SlimNana and others!
and congratulations to everyone who has been doing her exercises, too. ![]() I am doing a new "senior" workout video called "Easy Does It" that has no jumping around and lots of resistence training and stretching. I managed to get through that (about 50 minutes worth) PLUS the Jane Fonda upper and lower body resistence workouts before going to work this morning, so I'm feeling pretty proud of myself. ![]() |

TGIF already JBs!
So many of us have seen new lows this week, that it makes me believe our SIRT1 must be flowing big time...finally after a 3 wk. stall for me. I'm trusting in the process of JUDDD more than ever now. Have a joyous weekend doing what you all love most! AnnLast edited by SlimNana; 01-18-2013 at 07:53 AM.. |

I did make it to the gym twice this week. I think tonight I'll try the Wii Zumba Core I got last weekend, but my burn might not be that great since I'm going to try to slow it down and actually learn the steps.
Tomorrow's a down day and there aren't any classes I want to take at the gym, but I'll try to make it and at least hit the treadmill and some weight machines for a bit to make my weekly goal of 3 trips to the gym. WTG everyone! You're killing it!

Three days ago I adjusted my calories to when I was at 160. It only adjusted my calories down by 100 on UD's & 75 by DD's. But, it got my weight loss moving again! Who would have thought such a small change could make a difference?!! Today after yesterday's UD, I'm down another to .6! Potatoes had a lot to do with it as well.
1/18----148.8 Hopefully, I won't have any/many UUAD's to mess it all up! ![]() |

Congratulations Angela on reaching goal!
![]() Great to hear that you are getting to the gym so often Dawn. I hear you on the increased appetite front. Sounds like you are doing great Shari4! Potatoes are my secret weapon on appetite control now too. I am back from my mini-vacation. I had a fantastic time! I ran the Disney Half Marathon and then the full marathon the next day. They call it the Goofy challenge for obvious reasons. I still managed to gain a few pounds over the week with all the good southern food I ate. Running does make me hungry!! I am looking forward to being able to get to the gym now and focus a bit better on the rest of my body. Upper body/arms are going to hurt this week!

SlimNana, I am 5'4". But, I'm 10 years older than you. So, any weight loss for me is wonderful!! It's taken me a year to lose my weight....32.2 of it was on JUDDD. I wish I'd found JUDDD 10 years ago!! You're going to make your goal easy peasy!!
![]() Babs, you'll get those few pounds off in no time. Good for you for running your marathons!! The only way I'd run a marathon is in my dreams! ![]() |

It's been about 5 yrs. since I've been below 155. My body may very well settle at 145 for a few months whenever I reach that. Then I will most likely need to increase my exercise more, if I hope to reach 135 in time for summer's bathing suit wearing weather. ![]() Congrats & welcome back Babs! The only way I'd ever attempt running at all, is if a bear or a mugger was chasing me! ![]() |

and when they added in hand or arm motions, it was even more hopeless. I found myself wondering if I could EVER learn it, if I played and replayed 10 second snippets over and over, though I'm sure the leaders thought the choreography was as simple as humanly possible. But I'll probably just keep doing the resistence segment and skip the cardio, since I can no more dance than I can fly. ![]() |

I absolutely admire anyone who can run. I ran for fun when I was a kid (1-5 miles at a time). Then my father turned it into a competition and made me run 1/2 marathons. I was 11 or 12 at the time, and I abhor running now. I dread it. I tried the C25K a month or two ago and did okay for a week, then it was a chore. Ugh. Kudos to you. ![]() |

I'm in awe of all you JBs. Totally great stuff your all doing. Impressive!
I did my 60 of water class this morning. It is the stretching class with pilates, yoga and ai chi moves. Probably don't burn many calories but I sure feel great after doing it. Interesting thing -- since doing callanetics, these classes are easier - especially the balancing part and I'm holding my core in so much tighter. That is stressed in callanetics - training the pelvic area. I feel like a new woman after doing it!!! |

Dawn- I didn't take up running until after I had my third child. It is just a fun hobby for me and gives me some time on my own. I can imagine that it would be less fun if you were pushed into long distances at such a young age. Did you do a half-marathon at that age? That is an amazing distance, but I am sorry that you were pushed into it. Zumba sounds fun.

I'm so impressed with you guys! You're really sticking with your exercise routines, and so many great losses!
I had great intentions for my Callanetics this week. I've only done it twice, but I'm happy with that - it was my minimum per week goal, so I'm glad I met that. It's just been a very busy, crazy week! Now I'll take the weekend off, maybe do some stretching over the weekend, and get back to in Monday or Tuesday. |

I know I haven't been around the challenge much, but I'm still aiming for 125lb on 2/14/13.
1/1- 137.7 1/19- 131.9 (TOM arrived this morning so it should be downward a bit quicker in a few days again. I lose faster for the 10 days after TOM.) |
