Wow. So much to respond to so I won't even try to hit all the good news and congratulate all you diligent exercisers! Babs have a wonderful trip, go Cici with the new low and Dawn- whatever you do will surely be "right".
Off to finish my 3rd PD with some French fries! Only some gentle walking for me the last couple of days due to a pulled muscle but I seem to be on the mend and will be back to the Shred soon, soon, soon. |

I really like it. There is some jumping, but you don't have to do all the moves. I have arthritis in my left hip and my lower spine is fused (birth defect, not surgical or anything), so I just do my best and if I can't do something, I just don't. I'm also not very coordinated, so I don't always do the hand/arm motions because I'm concentrating too hard to get my feet to do what they're supposed to.

Congrats Sven and Cici on the weightloss!!
I did my fitness boot camp class and I am paying for it today, wow that was tough! I'm going for a cardio boot camp class tomorrow, supposed to have alot of kickboxing stuff. Then on Saturday I think it's a Zumba class, which will be a first... If I do that I will have completed my first week of getting in those 3 gym workouts a week! |

Hey, all you JB'ers!!
Everybody is doing so well!! Hooray for cici, JKat & sven!! Looks like it's working for you!Dawn, I agree.....whatever you decide to do will be just right for you! My gosh, girl! You've done a miraculous job with your weight loss the past year! Take the stress away & do what you need to. I am so sorry your fingers are hurting worse. Feel better soon! ![]() I still haven't gotten my fanny out the door to walk. Of course the past 2 days we've had rain that is soooooooooo badly needed! We've lost so many of our big, ol' oak trees the past couple of years due to this drought! This MAY keep us from losing any more. *fingers crossed* I've had a rough time with my UD calories the last couple of weeks. Today has been better cause I've done another potato day. Adi eats fried eggs in the morning on her UD potato days. So, I did too this morning. It's seems to be helping me with crazy thoughts of junk food! What ever works, right? So, onward & downward we go!!

I had a dream last night I wieghed myself and I was 138 which would put it at my Valentines day goal. I really weighed 141 this morning. It's not goal but I'll take it. It is a new low for me.
I got my exercise in yesterday and was starving on my DD. I hate hungry DD's. I stuck to my 500 calories though so I'm proud of myself. I'm happy for an UD today! All of you super exercisers are impressing me. Keep up the good work everyone! |

Did Zumba last night, with a burn of 502 per HRM. That put me at negative calories for my DD.
Today: 167.2, a new low. All my complaining paid off. ![]() |

Sven, Cici, Dawn, JKat, Sammyann - WTG!
I'm still trying to motivate myself to work out, but it's been a really bad week for my neck and lower back (had a phys therapist tell me once that I have the neck of an 80-year-old man - I have thoracolumbar scoliosis, neck/lumbar disk collapses/ruptures/displacements, hypermobile sacroiliac joint, and spinal arthritis from my neck down). I've been having trouble just picking things up off the floor lately. Darn weather. I may get on the gym this evening with DH's help. Goal: 225 1/1: UD DNW 1/2: DD DNW 1/3: UD 232.6 1/4: DD 232.6 1/5: UD 232.6 1/6: DD DNW 1/7: UD 232.0 1/8: DD 232.8 (SPUDDDing it today) 1/9: UD 232.4 1/10: DD 231.6 still undecided if a reg DD or a PDD

Way to go Dawn! Maybe complaining burns more calories than we realize.
![]() Seriously, you should be very proud of how hard you've been working out lately! ![]() I'm sorry you are in so much pain Rayne. Have you ever tried a pilates reformer/rebounder? Best wishes to all today for your continued progress! Last edited by SlimNana; 01-10-2013 at 08:06 AM.. |

WTG everyone! There's so many of you doing great things here! I'm proud and inspired to be a part of this group!
Rayne - I'm so sorry your neck is hurting you. That sounds like a lot going on with it. Take care of yourself. I'm not sure I'll get my Callanetics in today, but I'm sure gonna try. Maybe even 1/2 of it if time is tight. It just feels so great, and even after only 3 hours, I'm really feeling more toned (under the still significant fat, that is). I had a nice whoosh this morning, down another 1.5 pounds to a new low. So I know I'm back on the right track again. Whew!

There are actually a couple of Pilates attachments that came with my gym, along with a DVD. Pretty sure it's just a glimpse at Pilates, but I was able to do some of the DVD exercises on it last year. DD keeps saying she wants to use our gym...I may see if I can get her to watch the disk and maybe join me in doing some Pilates on it. At 19, she's almost in as bad of shape as I am. Thin...but out of shape.

Hope it helps. The nice thing about the pilates reformer/rebounder is that it supports your neck, as you lie on your back. It's been working wonders for me in rehab for my hip. Even my DH loves it and he's had three back surgeries for bad discs.

That is funny. Potato days or tater days. Guess we need to be careful how we abbreviate.
I know I need to walk but I am a procrastinator. When I get home I have so many outside chores I never get walking in. So I bought a DVD Leslie S walking tape and took it to work. I use tapes at home since I have had them forever and the little TV, VCR setup. Anyway, I am planning on walking most days BEFORE lunch and today I started. I walked my mile and then had my lunch and it worked out just fine. Pop the DVD in my laptop, move the laptop to an eye level shelf and start walking. Did day #1 today. Aiming for at least 3 days a week and will do 5 if I can.

WOW -- awesome. Congrats to Dawn, Sammyann, Jkat and Sven. Hope I didn't miss anyone. You guys are doing great!!!
Shari -- I do hope the rain helps the trees. Droughts are horrible and it takes so long to recover from. Fingers crossed here too! Rayne -- that pain sound terrible. Hope you are able to do some exercise that helps! I did some callanetics this morning and some walking this afternoon. Watched the grandkids after school and they definitely needed to get outside to burn some energy so I kept up with them (in a fashion) while they rode their bikes. They kept telling me to hurry up - then called me 'slow poke'!! Kids!

I'm not doing so great getting in my exercise this week. I ended up getting a fever yesterday so I skipped the exercise and didn't count my calories in supper or the doughnut I ate after supper. I didn't bounce up on the scale so maybe the increased body temp burned up those calories, LOL. I feel fine this morning, thank goodness. |

TGIF JBs! Another DD for me. Don't you just
all the abbreviations. Yesterday my UD was within my 1500 max. and I didn't have a bounce on the scale this morning, which is progress. Other than that, I received a new 10lb. contoured kettle bell that Bob Harper endorses. I tried the 30 min. beginner workout dvd that he includes with it & was surprised I could do as much as I did. I really like the new shape of the flatter bell, since the heavier round ones have been intimidating to me. I've been hesitant to try them before, because I was afraid of either knocking myself in the head with it or losing my grip and accidentally tossing it through the T.V. screen. ![]() Anyways now that my upper body is sufficiently sore this morning, I will be doing 30 min. on the recumbent bike & 15 min. on the pilates reformer/rebounder. I need to start using abbreviations RB & PR for them too. ![]() Hope you all have a great DD or UD! Ann

Good work (and good workouts!), Ann!
Do you do the recumbent bike, rebounder, and kettlebells at home or at a gym? I have an elliptical machine (BIG machine) and a TV and hand weights in part of my finished basement, so that's where I work out, but I have't very much room there, and the ceiling is so low in some spots that I have to move to do anything where I reach my arms upward. I don't think that I have room to add any other equipment, but I hope to do some bikeriding and longer walks when spring comes. |

For the second day in a row I have done a mile walking video before lunch and it is a DD. Two days in a row for me is unheard of since I HATE EXERCISE. If I can keep it up I will be very proud of myself.
