Debbie, I had Cindy, so yours must be coming from Jenn.

All of the charity stuff we have gone to in the past is no longer black tie. I sat through a board meeting with the director of an educational charity we support and I know they have changed their event over the last 4 years or so to cocktail attire and less expensive tickets hoping to get more people to come and hopefully still hit their targets. The meeting was our local parent group presidents with a variety of local foundation executives and every group said their giving is still down and so they are trying to broaden the people that might come to their events they are hopeful that their numbers will start to go back up soon.

Becky & MK, does that mean I get to open mine at 9pm PST?

Nope, not 9... 9:01!!!

I have my birds out and letting them run around on the floor. John left for Salem today, he should have gotten there at 7:58. He thought he was flying tomorrow so he had to come home at 1130 and pack. He'll be back on Wednesday which is good cuz he would have missed St. Nick day.

My little baby bird has a bloody Knick on her "nose"... I trimmed the siblings wings before I got them out and there was a scuffle, she got her little nose bit. :-(((( hard to believe how vibrant of a pink the older ones are compared to Willow.

Morning-
Happy Birthday to Cindy's DDnow23.

Becky, I hope the nick on your little bird's nose is just that and nothing to worry about.

DS19 said he was wearing shorts/flip flops yesterday and tomorrow its supposed to snow. He is ready for a little sunshine I think. He says he needs to work on his tan over Christmas break even if its chilly.

DS15's friends want to repeat last Friday night, so I guess I'll have a houseful of boys again this weekend. I'm glad they had fun.

Wow, everyone must be really busy. No one has posted since Becky last night.

I went to yoga yesterday for the first time in a couple of months probably. I thought I would be really really sore today, but only a little sore in my shoulders and abs. Guess I wasn't as bad as I thought.
I'm going to try to get back into the twice a week yoga habit. Its only $5/class and I love the way I feel after the class and all of the other people are super nice. Its really just a matter of making time for me.

Worked 4 hours. It became busy and I was happy to leave.

I run in an hour and need to dress for it.

Off tomorrow. I don't have a ton planned. DH comes home tonight. I will be very busy Friday of this week though next weekend. I am traveling this weekend and have three parties next week.

Tis the season.

Better get into running clothes.

Becky, you crack me up!

Debbie, hope you have a good run tonight.
We don't really have any parties this year. We used to throw a HUGE work party, but haven't for the last 2 or 3 years since DH's role changed. We usually skip DH's office party, and the other friend that used to do a big party every year has a new baby (and a 3 y/o) so I would be surprised if she pulled something together.

I did get my Christmas cards ordered today, so at least that's something.

Still no package Kelly!

Been busy; forgot to post.
Nothing new here. Beautiful day but chilly. Supposedly we have snow moving in this weekend! GRRRRRRRRRRRRR

DH and I are caught up on SOA to the current season and watching the final few epi's this week through amazon. I will be sad when it ends. I am obsessed!

Where's MK been?

How long will DS be home for Kelly?

You can post with your phone. Post on FB if that is all you can do. I have posted with my iPhone but can't remember how.

Up early. Don't have to do much today. Decided I shouldn't run tonight and going to Isabella's. Will pack for our trip. Need to get some things at the store. Could clean for sure. Need to make room in big freezer for pies.

Now do I make dinner to bring to kids or order food from chicken place we like? It is a great deal and yummy.

Jenn, no pressure. If my gift isn't ready I will be away Friday- Sunday.

Becky, I just saw you posted on FB.

I know MK got my package.

Cindy, Kelly said you should get yours today I think.

Jenn, lives closest to me so if she mailed mine maybe today. I leave tomorrow morning for Rehoboth.

Not sure what to buy Bella for Christmas. They have so little room but I want to get her some Little Tikes things. They probably would be put away till they get into a house. Hopefully they can find a place they can afford. Houses here are double what they are most places.it will mean a townhouse in an area they really don't want or a very small one.

Went to grocery. Made meat load x2. Hope two is enough for 6 adults and one 21 month old.
Now boiling potatoes for mashed potatoes.

Asked DS28 to make salad. I bought a Pepperidge Farm cake for desert. I like the coconut but being gluten free cant eat. I used gluten free bread crumbs for meat loaf. Hope it tastes OK. It is more then bread crumbs so guessed on seasoning.

Back to folding and cooking!

Glad you like MK. Hope that pashmina keeps you warm !

I have been in our school district strategic planning/tech planning meeting all day. It was interesting. They always ask students to participate and one of the things mentioned by a teacher at the end of the day after the students left was the kids that participate are always the straight A/student government kids and it would be nice to have the perspective of some of the more challenged students too. Of course, those kids don't really need to spend time out of the classroom though.

Cindy, the post office told me you should have gotten your package yesterday. Hopefully, it gets there today. I didn't add a tracking number to it. I probably should have. (sorry!)

DS19 will be home from the 21st to Jan. 7th. He has a really really early flight on the 21st so he'll probably come in and take a nap before heading out with friends that night. DS15 moved into is room when he left for school so it will be an interesting break since DS15 says he isn't moving out for the break. He left all of his brother's stuff and just moved his clothes and a few other things.
DS15 was the freshmen team captain this year and he came home from the awards banquet, moved DS19's plaques down and hung his above his brother's and then of course sent him a pic by text. (Boys!)

Debbie, I totally understand the crazy housing prices. We were in a townhouse when DS19 was little (not here obviously) Pretty much my living room and his room looked like a preschool because of his toys and not having much space. They'll make it work, good parents always do.

Becky, you weren't kidding about opening at 12:01.

MK, when do your campers come home? I can't wait to have mine back for a while! (Hopefully, his friends will still want to hang out here)

Hi Gang!
Reporting in and Kelly - you did AWESOME!!!! I love, love, love my St. Nick!!! THANK YOU!!!!

St. Nick.jpg

I got a ceramic mug with high heels all over it - it is going to work!
A cute little holiday note pad
A peppermint frost candle
Some amazing BCBG earrings - and they are SO ME!!!!

The package was sitting in the garage, so it could have come yesterday, or today - if we are home our mailman just plops in the garage if the door is open. He is not a nice mailman.

TGIF!

Thankfully, I have no other packages to mail. DH does mail order for his family and I don't have to deal with it!

My ONE camper comes home either 12/23 or 12/24.

Nothing planned for the weekend right now - kind of hoping it stays that way. I'm thinking I will wrap the presents I already have and get that done and out of the way!

We have just barely started shopping. We cut back (slightly) on family gifts a few years ago. DH and I would cut back further but my mom won't hear of it, so...
Other than our own kids and sometimes each other, but not every year (and usually either something for the house for both of us,) we only buy for the nieces and nephews, DH's brother and his wife, my parents, my grandparents, one of my uncles (who we are really close to and he is easy and fun to buy for) and usually one of my aunts (because my mom makes me feel guilty if I don't get her something) Our best friends have a first grader and we send him something every year. We kinda just treat him like an extra nephew.

We'll do most of our shopping online and ship directly to the place it will be unwrapped. We started doing this a few years ago and it made our lives SO much easier. DH and DS15 are refurbing laptops for our 3 teenage nephews that don't have their own computers. They will be so excited and I think DH and DS15 are having fun taking the computers apart and replacing/fixing what needs to be fixed. (doing it this way makes it affordable and they will be thrilled)

Cindy, I'm so glad you liked your gift. I loved the ear rings and thought they would be you. (they only had one pair or I would have a pair too though)
I have the same mug with a different design and I love it so I hope you will like yours as much.

MK, my camper called and chatted for a while last night. We had been playing phone tag, so it was nice to talk to him. I have a duck as his ring tone on my phone and he called me Tuesday during yoga class. I heard it, but yoga is on the beach and I actually thought I was hearing real ducks.

Went to Isabella's last night. I made meat loaf and homemade mashed potatoes. I never make them anymore. I was able to leave some leftovers there. They are so busy and have no time to cook. I should make more meals for them. I have their key. I could drop it
