Join Us for the Month of December and End of the Year Challenge!
 
The year is nearly over! Whether you're a low carb regular or brand new to this way of eating, let's ring in the New Year with some great progress! We’ll be recording our menus and daily weigh-ins here. Please join us!

What’s your goal for the month? Mine is to lose a minimum of 5 pounds and my stretch is 10 pounds. I'd like to start the new year in the 170s.

I'll be recording menus for the previous day and morning weigh-ins starting tomorrow. We can do this!

B: Coffee egg cream
L: Salad with chicken, avocado and veggies
D: Snacks-- cheese and almonds

Daily weigh-in:
Saturday, Dec 1 = 182

Menu- previous day
B- 2 eggs, coffee w/ h&h and stevia
S- whey protein shot- watermelon flavored- was good and held me
Until lunch. 190 calories though- a little high in my opinion but wanted to try it
L- salad w/ grilled chicken
S- 1 piece ghiardelli dark chocolate
D- salad- rotisserie chicken
S- scoop of pb and peppermint tea

Weight- 177= -3lbs for the week. I will take it

I am having a white knuckle day today-- for some reason I'm feeling starved. Weird, as I usually don't feel hungry. I am determined to stick to plan, though!

Well, it looks like my scales has died so no weigh-in this morning. Also I am off to San Francisco for business and back Wednesday. Hate flying because I retain water and then tend to have issues with finding legal food while I'm away.

Menu (previous day)

L: Hamburger
D: Chicken and ham sandwich, no bread
S: Kale chips

Daily weigh-in:
Saturday, Dec 1 = 182
Sunday, Dec 2 = broken scale so can't weigh

I would like to join as well. I used to be very active on LCF for a long time then life happens get divorced hit rock bottom and stopped taking care of me. Now I am working on putting the pieces back together. My life is so much better in the past couple of months so now its time to become healthier. I am at 230 my goal (my heaviest ever) is to lose 5 lbs and my reach is 10 lbs.

Hi,

I am brand new to the board and to the way of life. I lost about 60 pounds a few years ago (which took me about two years) on weight watchers and have gained about 15 back! I hate the way I feel when I eat tons of carbs and sugar! However, it is hard to stop!

Can I join your challenge?

My goal is 10 pound this month!

Wt 177.5 but I tested this morning and I am in ketosis so
I need to keep
Chugging along. I know I am eating the right foods but a little more than I should. It does feel good to be in better control instead of carb binging all
of the time.

B- 2 eggs and coffee
L- kind of skipped it
S- few bites of rotisserie chicken and some almonds
D- chili, two slices of cheese
S- hot dog. Spoon of pb

Had a few corn chips at a party because I was starving

Hi all,
I'd like to join the thread, if it's ok.

I lost 20 lbs summer of 2011 and have been stuck in the 170's for probably a year now. I need some accountability and hope this will be a good start.

I do follow low carb, but probably need to eat less and exercise more.

Wt today is 172.0

I'd like to get in the 160's and not bounce back to the 170's right away! I've been here so long :doh:

I'm in San Francisco today seeing a client. My menu for yesterday was terrible, so I won't bother posting. I was late getting to the airport and had no time to pull off food to bring with me. So it was bad airplane food. Also no scale to weigh in on this morning. Sort of afraid of what I'll find when I'm back on Wednesday.

Thank you!! Last night I went grocery shopping and prepped meals for the week. I even had a serious talk with my boyfriend to explain to him that I need the support and help. He is naturally very thin so our eating habits are completely different. I am going to have him skim through the Atkins 72 books so he can see first hand what I can and can't eat.

B- egg bacon and cheese quiche, coffee
L- chef salad
D- Salmon, veggies and salad
S- string cheese

Today I did pretty god but did eat a serving of pita chips and half of a cliff bar....not exactly carb free. Hmmm


Breakfast-Greek yogurt
Snack - banana
Lunch- shrimp cocktail
Snack - cheese and almonds
Dinner - chicken and veggies

I'm always hungry. I crave sugar and carbs. Any advice?

JmPankey- I would suggest having a higher fat protein snacks around and drink more water. Also maybe look at some recipes that have a sweet taste to them. There are tons of recipes on this site. I do pork rinds with butter truvia and cinnamon to kill my sweet cravings.

Had a tough day with cravings yesterday, but here goes
B- 2eggs and coffee
L- grilled chicken salad from Qdoba- no shell
S- pure protein shake
D-3 chicken cutlets (breaded and fried), asparagus, partisan risotto (about half a cup, my husband made my plate for me and I didn't have the heart to not eat it)
And 4 small pieces of chocolate

Wt today- 175.5
Not sure how that happened but I'll take it

Hey..Hey. Counting myself in for the challenge :)

Started on the 2nd with a fat fast. Only did it for one day, but it seemed to help. Weighed in at 215 on the second and let go of 5 the next day. I'm sure it was water weight but glad to see that go down. I don't want to weigh in
until atleast the two week mark. I have a "planned" cheat for Christmas, so I may not weigh in til the end of the month.

Started back at the gym also. I missed it actually. First night I burned up 245 calories and tonight i'm guessing about 350.
Plan is after work to get in atleast an hour of cardio every night.

Would like to be down to 199 by end of month.

B-bacon and two fried eggs-black coffee.
D- Hamburger with some cheese
S-two small slices of cheese

Over a gallon of water also.

Even with my low carb way of eating, my cholesterol is high (which did surprise me). I saw a "Lipidologist" yesterday and she said it is inherited. ughh. I'm going to try Niacin to see if it helps.

Having my usual coffee w/ Heavy Whipping Cream this morning...

I just started on December 3 and I need to have the accountability of this group.
I am at my highest weight ever at 224. My breakfast today was boiled eggs, bacon and an avocado. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Today has been very interesting! Still eating on plan :) I am so excited my kids and I will be moving out of a 2 bedroom apartment and moving into a 3 bedroom house in January!

Could it be water weight?

Wound up eating a ceasor salad at work and i'm cooking up some pork right now. Got a half hour in at the gym so 130 calories.:)
