How many carbs do you eat? Have you lost all your weight eating low carb? I am 51 and starting to have lots of hot flashes and insomnia. What seems strange to me is when I eat low carb the menopausal symptoms are so much worse and I also get an increase in my anxiety levels.

Lately I've been racking up net 30 carbs a day. Yes to the LC diet (no regular exercise routine). I also went on Synthroid for my thyroid last January and I believe that helps with the metabolism. I'm 55. I took birth control pills until I was 50 and as soon as I went off, I had hot flashes! Dr. would not give me HRT to curb hot flashes. I suffered for a couple of years. I got a new GYN who tested my hormone levels and she put me on "Angelique" HRT and D3 capsules. The Angelique is the lowest level possible and helps tremendously! Stopped the flashes and made me feel normal again! I know there is alot of controversy about HRT, but I could not be miserable! You should have your blood tested to make sure everything is "at optimal level" for a balanced life, not just within "normal" levels.

I don't sleep very well either - take a generic OTC sleep aid every night.
