Holiday Madness
This is day one of beat the holidays and lose the weight for me. I'm not changing my stats yet because I don't want to jinx myself, but day one and I'm weighing in at 191. I've been stuck at 195 for 3 weeks, but this last week, I dropped my calories down, and the scale is moving!! I can't wait to be able to wear the closet full of jeans that don't fit right now. It's been 14 months since I had my last baby, and people are still asking me when I'm due. NO MORE!!
180 before Christmas or bust!! ![]() |

Count me in. I am finally back on track since Monday, not perfect, but way better than what I have been. I didn't weigh but when I did I was 245.
I don't know what I want to weigh by New Years, I guess I will take what I can get. |

I didn't dare step on the scale this morning. We had tickets to preview the town's Haunted House last night and there was a reception with food and drink. I had a couple of glasses of wine and carrot sticks. I did pass on the crazy looking Halloween cupcakes and had a deviled egg instead.
Happy Friday!! |

WTG Snow for passing up the cupcakes. I about want to gag when I see the awful colored frosting. I am making roast chicken with egg stuffing, cream of mushroom soup, a cheese ball, and butternut squash. Not all for supper but for the weekend. I know the squash isn't exactly low carb, but oh well. Oh, and we are going to have asian slaw.

Mmmm. Asian slaw sounds good. I was going to roast a chicken last night but we had the kids halloween carnival. I threw some nice fatty boneless pork ribs on the grill instead. it's a cold dreary day here. I'm going to have to do my best to stay out of the fridge today. I was 191 this morning again, so I'm going to change my stats. That's 11 lbs in less than a month. I hope to see 189 by the 31st.

chicken didn't get done all the way. No worries, I put the carcass along with onion, celery, carrots, bay leaf and water in crock pot and made stock for soup. I love soup and I did make cream of mushroom soup too.

Thanks! So my plan is to figure out my diet this week. Been off any plan for so long its going to be a bit to get back on track. Also I have a hurt foot so I am going to look into maybe some water classes and see if they fit in my schedule. I do have a gazelle so I will commit to using that. Its no impact. |

Hi! I'm looking for some motivation to get back on track. I started lc in July, and have lost about 25 pounds. Then, long story short, my crazy, stressful life has finally caught up with me, and I've been going back to my old, bad habits. I've fallen off the wagon in a big way!
Anyhow, I came here looking for a challenge, thinking that maybe something like this could help me get back on track and stay on track! My original goal was to get down to 151 for my birthday (December 30), but I'm not sure if I can make that now with this setback. I'll settle for getting into the 150s by then if I can! Great to meet all of you, looking forward to supporting each other through the holidays!

Welcome Bazmom! Good morning to you to Lotus. It's a frosty morning here. The mountains don't even look real this morning, with the sun rising over them. I ate a ton of hotwings last night, and accidentally drank juice instead of crystal light in the middle of the night from the fridge. Think I will give it a few days before I weigh myself. Gonna try to eat clean today, making taco soup for dinner. I haven't tried it before, and it sounds good.
Happy Monday to you guys |

It was really good. It's in the recipe room under Linda Sue's Taco Soup. My husband and kids liked it too. Hubby is usually really picky.

I made chicken tortilla soup tonight. It was a bit too spicy oh well. Exhausted tonight. Been awake since 0230. Feet hurt too. Contemplating a job change. Or an attitude adjustment LOL.

Candy everywhere....But I haven't eaten a piece of it. I posted how much I lost on Facebook a couple of days ago, and of course there always has to be that one person. A girl I went to college with tells me to be careful because Dr. Atkins died of a heart attack and "Carbs are good!". I counter her with, no, he died of hitting his head, and she responds, "My bad, he suffered a heart attack, congestive heart failure, and hypertension before his death, contrats on your weight loss though". Of course, I need to take her comments with a grain of salt. She was never thin, and I heard she has gained a lot more weight she seems to not be able to lose going to the gym sporatically. Keep up the good work ladies! |

I get so frustrated when people are so negative about Atkins. They are typically sadly misinformed. Any comment you hear where people say something along the lines of "Any diet where you eliminate a whole food group is unsafe," is typically a jab aimed squarely at Atkins followers. People have no idea what the REAL Atkins diet involves. They think you can eat bacon, eggs, cheese, and steak all day. Of course a diet like that would be unhealthy! They don't know about all the other foods and choices that go into it.
Oh well, you can talk till you're blue in the face and people still won't get it. You could always post a link to Sugar Free Shelia's web site on Facebook. That woman has been on Atkins for years and is the picture of good health! Her results (and hopefully ours!) don't lie! Take care, hang in there! |

NOT. I am so lucky I love fat and I love Atkins!! When I was younger.. I was always thin...and you know I ate the Atkins way and never realized it till I started Atkins. I purchased some sugarfree Dark Chocolate truffles for emergency chocolate craves..they work.. So happy to be here on this thread with all of you. Losingitwithgrace |

Never to late!!! I'm just not posting weight loss anymore on Facebook till I reach my goal. That will solve that problem. 189 today, 9 lbs till mini Christmas goal. I'm excited about planning a low-carb Christmas meal with my mom. She has been low-carbing since I was in high school and has maintained her weight loss for years. She is my real inspiration in this WOE, because I know it's sustainable and healthy. Salivating over turkey, sweet potatoes, baked asparugus, low-carb pumpkin cheesecake with walnut crust. Mmmmmmmm. Maybe I'll throw a ham into the mix. Happy weekend ladies, and keep up the good work ![]() |
