Still here too I can't wait to wear a bikini next summer and feel awesome!! It's my main motivation I think. Food-wise has been good. Eating 2-3 oopsies a day, meat and salad/cauliflower. Some days a cup of hot coco. Hardly any other sweet things. A handful of salted nuts here and there. Yeah, doing good I think

Weight: 187 (185.2 yesterday)

Meal Plan
B: Cafe Caramel Atkins Shake
L: Steak & Cheese Salad
D: Chicken Marsala & Sauteed Mushrooms
W: 128 oz

Exercise
Treadmill: 45+ minutes

Progress Report
I was very disappointed to see a two pound gain this morning. I really thought I would hold steady. I would have been okay if I had not had 1 cup of low carb ice cream (2 servings). 69% fat (128.69g), 19% protein (81.92g), and 12% (28.21 net carbs) carbs for yesterday's food intake... The carbs should have been a bit lower than 12%. The ice cream alone was 8 carbs and without it, I would have had a perfect low carb day but for some reason I really was craving sweets yesterday and ended up having the ice cream after lunch and dinner. I also only drank about 64 oz of water yesterday so I will be pounding the water today. Hoping to see the 2 pounds gone in the morning. I am ready to get into the 170's and get out of the obese category. I wish I was a little taller lol.

On a personal note, we got some bad news yesterday (thinking back, about 20 minutes after getting the news is when my cravings for sweets started, so I may need to focus more time on not giving in as it may have been an emotional response to bad news) My husband has come down on orders for Fort Bliss, Texas. First, it's like a 35 hour drive from my family. We were stationed in Germany before we came to North Carolina and spent 3 years disconnected from family. My mom is literally my best friend. She lives 5 hours from us and she is able to drive down for long weekends and see the kids often, I would hate to be so far away from her. After looking into this particular military post, I have discovered that most people hate it there. It surrounded by desert with hardly anything to do, they don't have as many activities for kids there as they do here. Not to mention that I will have to transfer colleges or pay out of state tuition. My financial aid barely covers my books and in state tuition now, so I would have to pay about 3000 out of pocket a year to stay enrolled in NC, can't afford that because the military doesn't pay very well. If I transfer, I will lose most of my credits. And who knows how long we will be in Texas, I could started over and then if we move again, have the same dilemma. Definitely not the best news for us. My husband is going to try to get out of the orders so we will see... In the meantime, I need to stay focused on school and weight loss so that I don't do any emotional binging.

This is exactly the kind of thread I need to help me get motivated for summer! I gained all the weight I lost back at the start of the year plus some. I've been off and on plan the last few months and two weeks ago I managed to finally stick with it more than two days but I gave myself permission to eat off plan junk 5 days ago and have been in the carb gutter since. I hope reading along with you ladies will help! I can't take the idea of another miserable summer feeling conspicuous in sweaty jeans.

Oh yea, I'm 25 and married, I started today off at 174.2.

B: Coffee, coffee, coffee. (Trying to cut back on AFS.)
L: Turkey burger w/ laughing cow cheese wedge.
D: Prolly same as lunch with a sf frappe.

I'm trying to get more fluids in but I can't drink more than 2-3 bottles of water a day or I get wicked heartburn.

So saturday is my birthday and I refuse to go another year with this yo- yo weight lose. I have done Atkins off and on for the last two years. I have lost 50 pounds and gained alot of it back. I really wanna lose 45 pounds but I would be happy with 35. So my journey starts again. I am jumping back on induction in the morning. I love you iced coffee and pepsi but I gotta let you go!! I'm going to need you guys to help me stick to this, my weight lose buddy and best friend just deployed again so now I'm all alone in my battle. Thanks guys!!

Newlife, Phase and Hellokitty....

Phase... I am the same way about eating off plan. I can't seem to get right back on track most of the time. I look at myself like a recovering drug addict with my drug of choice being carbs. So when I have carbs, its like a relapse that leads to overdose and then when trying to get clean, it's so hard because the body craves just one more hit of those yummy carbs! After watching the 60 minutes episode about sugar being toxic, that kinda helped scare me straight. I try to avoid off plan foods for the most part, I know myself and the likelihood of me stopping at one bite is slim. Also, I always pay for it on the scale the next day and even though its my fault that I ate the off plan food, its still upsetting to see the scale go up so fast when it goes down so much slower! Good luck!

newlife... I am looking forward to an amazing summer as well! We can definitely do this. As far as the water, if you can find a way to get more fluids in, the weight will definitely come off faster! When I started drinking half my body weight in water, my weight loss really picked up!

hellokitty... I lost a lot of weight with Atkins previously, as well. I went back to fast food and all the stuff thats no good for me. The worse part is that I was tired all the time and I just wanted to sit around. When I am doing low carb, I have more energy. I feel satisfied with low carb foods, this is the most satisfying and delicious way to eat. Not many diets can you eat yummy, creamy, cheesy and meaty dishes. I know this time that I can't go back to the high carb foods, it just wont work for me.

Christine... thanks! I've decided not to stress about it because no matter how things turn out, I have no control over it. I don't want to get myself in a situation where emotional eating wins. Deep breaths...

I was so excited to start Atkins again...2 days into I slipped. But my life has somewhat settled for now, so its on again in the morning. And no I'm not going to stuff my face with no-nos all day!! Sorry guys...

Sorry to not check in. the time escaped me again. imagine that

Melanie!!! HOWDY!!!

Christie comparing carbs to a drug addict is a good comparison. So how did the orders go?

A big howdy to everyone!

Alonewithyou low carb can make periods wonky for a while. It is pretty normal from reading the board.

I recently joined Tops just to weigh in weekly because my pants are getting super tight again and I had to go up a size since checking in last. Now that is going the wrong direction!!! I started with sweeteners again and then dived into sugar!!!

I don't need to know the weight but do want to know the up/down and the running tally of pounds lost or gained. We have a trip in Feb and I don't want to keep gaining! So back to checking in and doing my Atkins/Primal mix. I also need to check in with menu's!!!

So where is everyone???

Finally my period ended on Monday. I weighed in on Saturday and it showed -4 pounds. I am now 66 kilos. 2 kilos down! Yay! I have some issues though, it's like I can't get full. I'm hungry ;/ but I'll keep going.

Hi all!
I'm in. I'm sorry that I went awol earlier this year, but I had a few things going on and had to step away soon after I came back.
But I'm here again, and things are looking better and brighter. I am refusing to still be this size come April/May next year as hubby and I are going (or coming) to the US on a once in a lifetime holiday. Our first ever!

I love this site!

I'm still lurking around. I didn't get anywhere last month. December isn't looking too great either but I plan to do better. Low carb kicks butt, I know it does. I just need to get in the swing of things again. Weight is still 174.

Thank goodness for Atkins shakes! They are a big help keeping me sane when I get back to my WOE after being off a while. Pounds are slow in coming off and inches are slower, this is probably due the low carb junk I keep making. I'm going to try to cut "legal" treats since they aren't doing me any favors. Luckily there's plenty of time (if I behave) to be comfortable in my body for this summer.

I've seen some good deals on shorts and other summer wear online but I don't want to guess at my future size and then not be able to wear the clothes. Though having one pair of shorts may help me visualize my summer bod. lol Do you guys buy special "goal" clothes for motivation?

I haven't bought much new clothes lately :/ and that's because I want to lose weight. I won't go down more than one size most likely. So my old clothes will be OK.

I don't think I would buy too much goal clothes. You might get disappointed too, you know.

It's a very likely possibility. lol Earlier this year I lost 25lbs without going down a size so even if I make goal by the scale I have no idea what size I might be then. I do have some old clothes that I'd be very happy to get back into so they'll do. Thanks for replying!

This is a great thread!! Living in Arizona during the summer time is a nightmare being fat! I restarted Atkins right after Christmas and will continue to do so until I lose 40 pounds!

Hello ladies!!!! Congrats to your weightloss!!!! Some of you girls I haven't seen in a while, I'll admit that I jumped shipped to WW since I was stalling with atkins. As of today I will be doing atkins again. I lost about 13lbs on WW in 3 months, but gain some back due to the holidays. Hope all has been well with you guys.

Back in the Groove!

Hello ladies! I have lost weight with the low carb way of life on a couple of occasions. Not sure why I ever allow myself to revert back to the carb-filled world because it literally HURTS! I teach high school, and I gained so much weight from the time summer break ended that I had to buy all new pants, UGH! Sugar is poison! It makes every part of my body ache, especially my joints! The day after Thanksgiving, I started induction and have continued with it. I don't weigh myself because I can't stand the mental games that the scale plays with me! I solely rely on how my clothes fit me and physical changes that I see in my body. I am a pear, but I have the genetic arm wings, a gift from my mom's side of the family. I even lift weights, but there is nothing I can do for those nasty things, outside of surgery. My mom had the surgery a couple of years ago, and I'd like to have it, but I can't afford it right now. I know I've lost a good deal of weight since I started because I can see and feel it! I don't cheat. I'm obsessive compulsive, so I'm either all in or all out. This keeps me on task, but like I said earlier, I don't know what happens to ever get me off track. We have a little summer lakehouse and a boat, so I'd like to be comfortable in a bathing suit by May! I'm a size 14 right now. Would love to be a 10 by May! In my adult life, a size 10 is the smallest I've ever been able to achieve, and I wasn't there for long. That's my goal! I'm 44, and losing weight gets harder and harder. I hope I can contribute to the quest of others while learning from you guys!

Hi! I would love to join you all. My name is Jennifer. I am 30 years old, married mother of 2. I lost quite a bit of weight before having my girls but now have gained it back and am very serious about getting my act together. We had a pool put in this past summer and I literally felt like a whale every time I took my kids out to swim. I will never see a bikini, but I do want to feel better in a swimsuit this year so this seems like the perfect challenge. Can not wait to get to know you all

I'll be back a few days before my period starts. I always get my period when I start LC, and it's super annoying to have it for 2 weeks!

I'll do induction, and pray to lose 10 kilos, approx 20 pounds by summer (June 1st).
