Morning girls,

I know I am on the inactive part of the spreadsheet but please move me back to the active. I put my weight in for 10/1/2012 and want to start for this new 3 month phase.

I just turned 59 and am committed to hitting 60 next year at my goal!!!!!

I had one of those "ah ha" moments this week that made me see things very clearly! My 26 year old niece who was also 6 months pregnant with a baby boy was killed in a head on collision by a driver who, as it looks like now, appears to have been drunk. She was only 2 blocks from her house on the way to work. In an instant her life and the life of her baby were taken away.

I figured what better way to honor their young lives but to take better care of myself. It really put things in perspective for me. The silly things I worry about day to day seem so unimportant!

Anyway, I want to be back, recommit and do this!!!!!!

Please keep my brother and all my family in your thoughts and prayers as we go through the funeral this next couple of days. This was his youngest daughter. I am not sure how a parent makes it through this!

Have a good day everyone!

Thanks for all the support you have offered me! I hope I can do the same for you all on this journey we are on.

DRen

Dren- I'll keep your family in my prayers

I'm re-committing too. We have a Disney trip planned in Feb, and I want to be down in the 170s by then. I vow to exercise 6 days a week, track all foods, eat clean and keep under my carb/calorie limits.

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't been on in a while, but I would like to join in again! I hit my mini goal of 150! But I had a few cheat days, so I'm back up to 155.. I went out to celebrate, because I just got engaged! which is some more motivation to lose those last few pounds.

Sorry for your loss Dren!

DRen, I am so sorry for your loss.

I lost my husband after the total artificial heart transplant surgery in January. He could not have had better care; he had the best and most experienced surgeon in the country. There are just some things we cannot control.

This IS something we can control. We CAN lose weight and improve our health and our lives.

Life is too short, and life goes on. Here is to making the best of it we possibly can.

I'm in a huge kick off. I'm cracking into the 100s this month, and I am not kidding. It is happening.

I'm doing Dr. Eades Thin So Fast (this is Dr. Eades of Protein Power, but I just discovered he did NOT lose his own weight on Protein Power, low carb is what he developed as the maintence plan!!!!). He did a modified protein-sparing modified fast to lose his own weight. Ha, I'm doing what the mastermind did. It is low carb, low fat, ultra low calories using shakes you make yourself plus one meal.

I have some motivating factors. First, I have hip pain that showed up in the past two weeks. Probably from all day walking on vacation. It seems to be inflammation but I haven't made it to my doctor appointment yet. This is crazy; I have to be able to walk! This is urgent, the weight has to come off!!!

Two, I have been dating a man from my grief support group. I find it disturbing to date a man that weighs less than I do.

Anyway, it's ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Um, what is the origin of the name Crazy Nasty Honey Badger? Do I qualify? Is there a hazing or anything?

Ladiies I just made something good!

In a procssor place:
1 ripe avocado - room temp (leave out the skin & seed )
2+ T rich cocoa powder
3+ T VCO softened
sweetner of choice to taste.

Process til smooth then let set up in the fridge til firm. Comes out like a fudge...

Want pudding??? Add an extra avocado, adjust the cocoa & sweetner but DONT increase the VCO.

Have fun!

You can sign up here for a newsletter about GMO, genetically engineered foods,

http://salsa3.salsalabs.com/o/50202/...ction_KEY=8368

Great point IAM, those are the things ruining our metabolisms for life and especially the kids, they keep ingesting that and they will be ruined for life and have a struggle, our bodies just cant deal with these ingredients and our livers work overtime trying to process them!!!!

My trainer bailed on me this morning, according to my scale I am down 4 pounds! SO I will take that!!!

I was off plan for five weeks and am up 20 pounds this morning. As of Friday (had to go out to dinner and nothing fit!) I started back to strict LC, low calorie, and exercise (the hated 30 Day Shred plus half an hour on the elliptical each day). Fortunately I have 2 pairs of trousers that I can wear... I've been really tempted to get the next size up jeans from the attic BUT I'm going to be tough and work harder to get into the ones I keep in my wardrobe.

I only have this week and then I'm traveling again for a week... but after that I really ought to have a good, long stretch at home.

My goal was to wear size 8 UK jeans for Christmas (they're what I wore last year unfortunately they stopped fitting a couple of months later). I don't think that's going to be possible, so I'm hoping to wear my size 10 (UK) dress pants for Christmas this year. I'll still have to be fairly close to goal to be able to wear them so it mightn't be possible at all, but hey goals should be at least slightly ambitious!

DRen, I am very sorry for your loss and will keep your family in my thoughts.

Congratulations Melanie on your engagement and your mini-goal!

That honey badger seems to eat an awful lot.... LOL. I've started taking 5-HTP hoping it will help with my appetite. Since I have persistent anxiety issues and occasional bouts with depression too (dh thinks I'm getting close to medication territory again) I think it could be good for me on many fronts.

I'm only down .2 but TOM had me teetering on twooterville. I'll take it. I'm thinking of joining the gym to give me a bit of a restart. I'm still planning on doing the Disney Princess 1/2 marathon in Feb. and I need all the help I can get. Heading out for Thanksgiving dinner soon, hopefully won't do too much damage - I'll steer clear of the potatoes and desserts, but I'm sure the stuffing & breadsticks will do me in. Good thing I ran this morning too offset some of the carbage

Let's buckle down girls - we can do this!

Hi all!

Need to catch up, with what is going on with you Honey Badgers! I have bronchitis and it has thrown my blood sugar way high! Drinking fruit juice, eating more fruit, cough drops, NyQuil all have contributed plus not eating LC - just eating something quick.

Hopefully, I will be feeling better soon and can get out and moving again. TC all. I am off for a nap, hopefully, did not get any sleep last night do to coughing!

Hi ladies....count me in!

Dren - I am so sorry to hear of your loss. What a tragedy and something like this changes people forever. My prayers to your family. It is good that you recharge your effort to be healthy and goal-minded. I understand, I'm 58 and want to hit the next big zero birthday in awesome condition!!

It is amazing how if you don't stay really diligent, get a little lax and less mindful of what's going in your gob, just how sneaky-fast the pounds can pile back on. I kind of lost sight of my goals (i.e. primary doc appt in Nov.) and fell victim to some mindless eating...due to stress. Went to my ENT doc yesterday to get my thyroid checked up on and gosh, I had to get on the scale and it was UP from the last time I went. This really rocked me. HIt the gym afterward, ate dinner on plan and today is DAY 1 of getting this ship turned around back in the right direction!!!

OK, so let's get through this day with on-plan eating and NO cheating!
Nancy
