A new month is almost upon us and a time to get a fresh perspective! We all have different goals and habits and behaviors we want to focus on to reach our health goals. I believe in creating positive statements such as "I WILL...." instead of I WON'T...." .. Consistent daily actions WILL get us to our goal.

So, instead of saying: "I won't eat any desserts this week", it can be restated as "I WILL take the time to bake and treat myself to my own low carb desserts this week. I will use stevia for sweetening and low carb flours (almond, flaxmeal, coconut) for the base.

OR - let's not say "I won't eat over 25 net carbs each day".. but instead say I WILL enjoy up to 25 net carbs each day and will fill a small section of my plate with quality whole food /unprocessed carbs that nourish my body.

So, to get us started, I will commit to the following and will report daily. I may add more later:

I WILL limit my net carbs to 30 a day

I WILL bake several sweet LC goodies early each week and freeze them so that I can take them out when I need them. (My faves are some LC muffins in Maria Emmerich's Nutritious and Delicious cookbook).

I WILL consume 5 veggie servings a day, AND will have them cleaned and ready at the beginning of the day for when I want them later. (I tend to get lazy when I am hungry and just fore-go the veggies!)

I WILL enjoy a glass or two of white wine several times a week if I really want it. (Life is too short not to unwind with a treat sometimes). This will be counted in my net carb total count. I will NOT beat myself up about this. LOL

I WILL post here daily about how I did and offer support to my fellow challengers.
