I can see that, Lynne. I was very comfortable doing ******* at around 500 calories a day. I wasn't counting, but did track on ****** and just wasn't eating. I was super stressed with family/relationship stuff and wasn't hungry anyway, so it worked out well. I think I'd drive myself a bit mad with counting for the up days, but it's definitely something I keep in the back of my mind if I hit a long stall like you did. A year, huh? Yikes. That had to be driving you batty! So glad JUDD is working for you! Must have been such a relief to break that stall!

Morning ladies! Three days in a row I'm checking in! I really am trying!
So I have heard about dream fields pasta but never found it until last week! So that was what was for dinner last night with a sauce made of chicken broth, cream cheese, parm, and 18%cream added in some garlic and spices yellow peppers and Lots of chicken, it was Delish!
Now the good news is... I was terrified I would be up today, but I am down! Weighing in at 188.8! Chances are it will reflect on the scale tomorrow for me so I'm skipping the leftovers today I think. So do any of you regularly eat lower carb pasta? How does it affect you?

Lynne - I know you are doing the shakes on DD's, do they satisfy you? If I drink them, I miss actually chewing things and it causes me issues. KWIM?

I had a great Down day. The peaches I was adding to my cottage cheese (although only 1/3 of the can) was causing my blood sugar issues. Yesterday I switched back to strawberries and did GREAT!!!! I weighed and AGAIN, I am exactly the same. 170.2 == WHAT is it with that FREAKING number??? I have been there since Mid-July! GRRRR I know some of it was my own problem....but really??? All I need is .4 and I am in the 160's!!!!!!!!!! Come on now! Next week, I am SURE OF IT!!!!!!

Yay Boop! Congrats on another new low! I've never tried dreamfields... hopefully it won't cause you any issues. Maybe freeze the leftovers?

Oh, Monica you are so close! I can't believe you keep sitting at 170.2. Hopefully getting your blood sugar stable will help in the weight loss department, too!

How am I? Thank you so much for asking! I'm down another pound to 216! TOM is here, so I have a feeling this will be it for awhile, but 3 pounds in 2 days should keep me happy for a bit! lol

Hi, everyone!!

Zipp, I was cruising around the Internet this morning earlier and saw this article on IF, cortisol and blood sugar. It made me think of you!

Maybe your scale is BUSTED. Have you tried threats and menacing gestures?

The protein powder shakes are completely satisfying. However. I haven't been able to SLEEP much the past two nights after DDs, and I'm not losing pounds either, and I wonder if my DD calories are too low again and I'm setting off the cortisol monster. I must avoid waking that monster up at all costs!!

I argue to myself that if I raise my DD calories to the 30-35% mark, I'll slow down my weight loss...but it's hard to slow it down more than ZERO, isn't it? What do I have to lose??

Boop, I've never tried the Dreamfields. Maybe I'm afraid I'll like it. And congrats on 188.8!

Misscobi, congrats on 216!!

I guess I must go, I've got lots of work to do today. Chow!!

Lynne

Lynne, that is an interesting article. I'm an IF'er by nature. It's past 1:30 here and all I've had today is coffee. That's pretty normal and I'm not hungry. I will be a little more cautious about recommending it to others after reading that, though.

Thanks for the kudos on the scale movement! What a love/hate relationship I have with that scale! lol

Monica, so close, it has to move soon!!
Tami! 216! That's awesome!
Lynne, good luck with the sleep! And yes. Pasta in any form can be dangerous for me... But it sure was a nice treat! I froze the leftovers as suggested I really need to behave this week since I have yet another wedding this weekend.

Thanks Boop!

How's everyone doing this morning? My scale really wanted to land on 215, and I greedily cheered it on, but no go. I also managed to use some regular sweetened creamer in my coffee this morning.... hopefully not much, but I'm not sure. Sigh. I had added creamer first and then coffee and decided I needed a little more creamer, opened the fridge, grabbed the bottle and poured a little of hubby's regular stuff in there before realizing I had the wrong bottle... wonder what I used the first time??? Yawn... still not awake! lol Shouldn't be a huge deal either way, but sure feel silly!

Thanks Monica... I think it's just my body giving in after sitting at a set point? I did give up pretty much all dairy, though. Hoping it continues, but don't really expect it to

Tami! 4lbs in a week!!! Look at you go!!! Congrats!
Monica, good luck! Sounds like it will be a great weekend though!
I am up to 189 today, but not stressing. I'm used to the bounces now. I just went out and bought my groceries for our thanksgiving dinner! Smoked turkey legs, salad which I am adding goat cheese and raspberries to, broccoli and cauliflower which I will be mashing! Mmmm. Going to be a good weekend of eating here! Wedding Saturday, then thanksgiving dinner!
I hope you all have a great weekend!!

WOE: Doing my own LC (currently less than 20/day)...
Start Date: July 2012
Hello ladies,

Sorry I've disappeared for a while. I've been planning a family trip and it's a lot of work - because I'm so used to travelling on my own, it's difficult trying to please everybody as well as cater to all the sleeping arrangements, etc. Sigh.

Anyways, I'll try my best to catch up here.

Lynne - glad that bank thing sorted out. I don't like banks in general, but it's not like we can live with piles of cash under our mattresses these days… And those are some good thoughts about how we do our LC lifestyle. It's all about the learning curve - our bodies are so different and we'll only learn about it if we are patient and try new things. And slowing down your weight loss is better than no loss + sleeplessness!

Monica
- I think JUDDD is definitely something that I'd try if my current system stops working. But like Lynne said before, it's good to learn about LC and how our body works (or reacts) before moving onto LC+JUDDD. I already count calories and fat/protein/carb % so counting isn't an issue for me. You'll get to 160's - your naughty scale is being very stubborn. Bad, bad scale! Good luck with this weekend's party - hope you have a blast with the girls!

Tami - well done to you and your friend and the puppies! We lost our last dog (the one in the pic) in January and we're waiting until after our family trip to get a new puppy. I'm totally counting down the days! And yay for the new low!

PeacefulGuide - size 10 is awesome! I now fit into size 8's and sometimes into size 4's and 6's in shops with vanity sizing/older cuts of clothing. I sometimes think that these NSVs are better than the number on the scale…

boop13 - hello! You're doing so well! Not sure about the low carb pasta yet, I just find it easier if I eat clean and more or less stick to the Atkins induction food list. It's something that I'd like to try later on, though. I love attending weddings, probably because I never planned one for myself.

As for me, I'm 142.7 as of yesterday (no change this morning). The rate of weight loss has slowed down and I think it's only normal that it slows down as we get closer to our goal weight. Even though I've got over 20 pounds to go I'm going to try my best not to get frustrated. Slow loss is better than no loss!

Our family trip is later this month for two and a half weeks, and it's to a fabulous location - Italy! I've been to Italy before and there's soooo much good carb to indulge in - gelato, hand-made pasta, pizza, etc… However they also do amazing main courses with seafood and meat/game along with outdoor markets full of veggies. I know that my carb count will be a fair bit higher than 20g/day but I will walk around a lot and will keep to low fat/calories if my carb is high. My goal for this holiday is not gain any weight (maybe I should leave room for a couple of pounds of water weight, but otherwise no fat weight). I'm not expecting any loss at all, but I don't want to gain either!

Have a great weekend!

Anna

Anna, sorry you lost the pup in your profile pic These guys really wiggle their way into our hearts, don't they? Looking forward to hearing more about your trip to Italy and your new pup afterwards, though! I'm also doing a long trip this month, but to Kansas...not near as exotic or interesting as Italy! lol

Anna- Italy!! That sounds like an amazing trip! It's on my someday list to travel there! I can't wait for you to tell us about it!
I weighed myself this morning, and I am 186.8! That is just .8 away from losing 60 lbs!!!! I can't believe how far I have come and how good I feel compared to just over 7 months ago! I want to tell you all that without all of the support here I am not sure I would have made it this far! Thank you all for being so supportive and inspiring!

Awesome Boop!

214 this morning... I don't know what the heck is going on, but I am NOT complaining! I completely agree with all that Boop said about the support, too. It's so nice to have all of you who understand the ups and downs, excitement and frustration of this journey. Other's just don't get it. Thank you

boop13 & Tami - way to go!! You guys are rocking this challenge! What a good week for you two - hoping that good luck is rubbing off onto rest of us too. It's so good to hear about you guys doing an amazing job, it keeps me going when my scale's being stubborn.

BTW, a little note to the whoosh fairy: my door's always open, so please visit soon.
