Survived the movies. Thankful it was an UD but proud that I didn't allow myself to go crazy. Actually finding that I can't eat as much as I used to I dunno if its the mindful eating thing speaking loud & clear or what??? Nice tho! My back and rear-end hurt from sitting in the dark for 12+ hrs

Cannot believe Thanksgiving is around the corner. It will just be me, dh and our 2 girls. DS isn't coming home from school. He and his 3 roommates will do a dinner there at their apt. Praying no phone calls that they burned the place down! It will be especially hard having him away, first big holiday without him, his b-day was hard enough. But like every other time, mom will put on her big girl panties and fake it til she makes it!

Asian history exam this morning. Praying like the dickens that I aced it. Yesterday was "supposed" to be my study day....do I get credit for at least bringing it to the theater??? Test seemed easy so we'll see.

Monica , that's kind of what I'm thinking. Just haven't decided yet if that's really what I want. The scale's finally starting to be reasonable after the last big cheat so thwarting progress doesn't make a lot of sense, but... yeah... we'll see

Yanno, for the life of me I cannot remember this book! I read them several years ago, all in about 3 days. I remember bits & pieces but couldn't say anything for sure..I will have to go back and read them again this summer when school is out. I was totally enthralled in the movie as I had nothing to base it on with my memory escaping me

Aw, thank you. He said he'd come home if I really wanted him to Practicing my letting-go skills and letting him do his own thing. Back feels better, I did some yoga stretches....felt sooooo good! Feet are finally warm! I know you'll make the best decision for what you want regarding the splurge...that's a tough call

That letting go stuff is really hard! Ours didn't come home last spring break and then ended up coming home for good last summer after being away at school for two years. You never know what tomorrow brings, but it's good for them to spread their wings. You know, he'll probably be bored stiff and miss his family

It is very hard. He was MY boy. He is the sweetest, most lovable kid and I miss his quietness and his sense of humor. He is literally THE only boy in the family on my side...all the grandkids are girls but him He loves his independance, he's always been incredibly independant so it's good for him. I see him maturing and seeing things from a real adult perspective which has been very sweet to watch. I think he's realizing just how much we did for him, how much I sacraficed by being a SAHM for 20 years. He's such a lover even at 20 he still comes in for a snuggle and a hug. *sigh*
Sheesh, both my girls are leaving at the same time in 2014, gonna be like one giant band-aid being ripped off

Good morning everyone!!

First an announcement: Scale said 159 this morning!! New decade, normal BMI!!

Tami, me and Gavin are going to stay home for TG and I'm going to cook something yummy and featuring turkey somehow. Plans not firm yet.

Or: maybe we'll go to the casino and indulge in their TG seafood buffet like we did year before last. Sigh...I had my first finger lobster that night. Gavin somehow charmed the turkey-carver out of a whole LEG to himself.

Monica, he's got a runny nose, cough, headache, sore throat, and just listlessness. He stays in bed all day. Happily, he's getting better. He slept in his own bed all night, that's a good sign.

Danielle, your study habits sound just like mine, except with me it was BASEBALL.

How did the exam go? I DO think it counts that you brought your books with you to the movie. It shows dedication.

It must be so hard to let go of your sweetie. Mine is only 8, and I'm already dreading it.

When he's really bratty, I dread it less, of course.

I have really bad study habits... I tend to wait til the last minute to write papers and/or study for things... I do my best work then...errrr, that's my story and I'm stickin to it My kids & DH are astounded the way I can study with the tv going and me doing 20 things at once... I let my 4.0 speak for itself hahahha!!!

Oh man, my boy is just my life! I mean, my girls are too, but there is just something about that mother/son thing....I can't explain it but you mom's with boys know what I'm talkin about I am beginning to brace myself for the year after next when all 3 will be gone. SO hard to believe that it's all happening. Life has flown by in a big ole hurry and I don't feel like I had nearly enough time with any of them!!

I am loving all the TG posts (even though its not TG for me lol) I love all the yummy ideas! Was a good weekend here. Went to a Santa Clause parade yesterday and then my son had a birthday party. And I stayed on the lc wagon the whole time! The party was with some people I haven't seen since the summer and they were all in awe at how much I have lost so that was a good feeling to hear that it is so noticeable! I still think of myself as the "fat girl" cause I have always been the biggest of that crowd. So although i am doing this for me and to be healthy for my son, it was a boost to hear that all my work is not going unnoticed. And a small scale victory to boot! I am 180.4 today! That's 65 pounds officially melted away and gone for good!

I totally get this. Don't get me wrong, I love my daughter dearly, but my Son, well it's just different! Both are special, but Mom/Son, it's just a different connection.

The movie was amazing. I loved the ending even though it was totally different from the book. I actually liked the movie ending better than the book! We had a great time! It was a DD so I just had their veggie platter. With the humus it was probably higher than a normal DD, but for being at the movies...I thought I did great!

Finally a new low to report! Yay! 209 baby... 10 pounds from goal for this challenge.... could be interesting!

Hope you all had a nice weekend! Hubby and I escaped to the mountains yesterday. We took a favorite jeep trail to a lake we've been to many times, but right now the water is the lowest it's ever been. It's actually a reservoir and is down to a river and I'm guessing the way it looked before they dammed it? It was really really cool, though. Brought back some drift wood to treat for the snake tanks. Love looking for driftwood... love pretty much anything out in the wild, actually Hubby & friend had seen a bear up there a few weeks ago (while I was out of town) and while we saw signs he was still around we never did see him. Was still a very nice trip, though, and exactly what I needed to recharge!

DesertGurl... awww... your boy sounds a lot like my oldest. Love love love those sweet easy going boys! 2014 will be rough! But hopefully enjoyable as well. How exciting. As of now my guys have no plans other than continuing at JC. Kind of frustrating, but we have slipped into a very comfortable new normal here so it's nice in a way.

Lynne, glad your little man is feeling better! I used to joke that the last year of high school and all of the pushing for independence that comes with it was not just for the kids to prepare themselves to leave the nest, but also prepare the parents. That whole senioritis stuff is no joke, even for really well behaved 'good' kids! lol

I love your open ended Thanksgiving plans. I'd really rather go camping or something and play outside all day, but my mom's just not up to that kind of stuff and was pushing me for answers so we're going to her house and she's doing most of the work. lol Whatever... lol

And yes, I'm still doing the 1000/2000 rotations, though I don't count too closely. Sometimes 1000 is only 750, sometimes 2000 is 2200.

Me... my power was out most of yesterday - big storm system here on the coast. It was interesting having a DD under those conditions, but I put a big pot of bone broth on the (gas) stove all day. Yum! It all worked out fine.

Thank you for the congratulations! Normal BMI was a big deal for me, I think the last time I was in the normal BMI range I was 3 years old.

DD16 is trying to convince me to go Black Friday shopping...in all honesty there isn't anything that I *need* that won't be there, say, at a NORMAL time! With the kids getting older gone are those days of getting up at the buttcrack of dawn looking for the hottest toys. My big score for myself was yesterday when I got season 3 of Vampire Diaries on Blu-Ray for $8 bucks on Amazon Last year for the first time ever, I did ALL my Xmas shopping online....it was amazing! I was done shopping by the first week of December, got everything I wanted and didn't have to deal with one grouchy shopper or employee. I've done half online this year, but still have some things for DD16 to get... the 2 older ones are gonna be easy..1 big gift..
.....just saw a commercial for Kohl's opening at midnight....may have to go and check it out...every other year I've been there to WORK and miss everything

I have no clue for my guys yet... they need car stuff(boring), can always use clothes(boring), they do not need any electronic stuff, hmmmm.... books for next semester? lol Lift tickets are the only thing I've come up with... It's getting more difficult as they get older!

Love it! Forgot DS19 wants to hurl himself out of a plane... that may be an option... hmmmm.... he'd actually probably enjoy that more than lift tickets so those are the forerunners right now skydiving for DS19 & season pass lift tickets for DS20... hmmmm...
