♥~ MAKING A MORE FABULOUS ME ~♥ JULY 2012

“In order to change we must be sick and tired of being sick and tired.”
~Unknown

Good Afternoon lovelies! It feels good to be back.

This Challenge is to get ourselves back on track, to be motivating, give and receive positive feedback, to share recipes, ideas or even things about life out of LCF that maybe everyday a struggle or a success.

So far the rules of this challenge are that that there are no rules. (I'm channeling Fight Club )

Not exactly rules but,

*Introduce yourself
*share the meal plan you are following, if any
*try to post everyday (it's good to be accountable)
*Thursdays are weigh-in days (you don't have to share the number, maybe just the amount lost or gained)

I'm sure we'll think of more, I just wanted to get this on here before I'm swamped.

Doing this as a monthly thread to see how we do.

Thanks for getting us started Karen.
I miss you ladies so, so much. You always helped me to stay on track and it is also good to have girlfriends I can vent some of my real life drama to.

*Introduce yourself - KarbieGrl aka Anna
*share the meal plan you are following, if any - Low Carb
*try to post everyday (it's good to be accountable) - that's my goal - daily posts
*Thursdays are weigh-in days (you don't have to share the number, maybe just the amount lost or gained) - I will share the number--it hurts but its the only way I can really be honest with myself.

I am really looking forward to this...for realzies!!!

Thank you Anna!

To start I am a breast cancer survivor- having just completed treatment May 18th. I have 60 pounds to lose, and really am trying hard to stick to my plan. It has been a long year of treatment, surgeries etc. And all I want is to feel like myself once again. I saw the name of this thread and it caught my attention.
I am doing low carb with veggies- no sugar or sugar substitutes
I am 6 foot tall and very muscular, so 190/200 is a good weight for me.
I look forward to the support and accountablilty.
I wil add, I have done chemo, so if I post something out of the ordinary, or not post back to someone it is because I forget, or become lost in the posts. Please bare with me!

Christina, Paleo from what I read is a great way to release that inflammation, which can lead to various diseases like cancer!

It's a fight no doubt! Having fatty liver myself (hopefully that is all) I have read everything I can about reversing it. Paleo from I have read is a great start to reverse it.

Welcome ladies. Let me introduce you to a couple of the ladies.
Karen, our esteemed leader is a very sweet gal. She hails from Puerto Rico.
I believe Heidi will soon join us. The 3 of us, a few years back, became weight loss buddies through a daily challenge thread. We were successful in losing weight, blowing off steam, and lifting each other up when we needed it most. We have reconnected and agreed to get back to business here. We have shared a lot, and sometimes we get a bit off topic. Please know that not everyone will get or appreciate our humor, so I apologize up front if we offend. It's all fun. Thanks for joining us and I look forward to learning and losing together.

Hope to get to know you guys better.

My name is Karen and I'm low carbing. I tend to go the South Beach way, but I'm still looking at other plans. I just started today.

Hey all I'd like to join if okay....here's the details on me:

*Introduce yourself--Nicole
*share the meal plan you are following, if any--Low Carb-not as strict as Atkins
*try to post everyday (it's good to be accountable)-will do
*Thursdays are weigh-in days (you don't have to share the number, maybe just the amount lost or gained)-No problem with sharing the number. If people around me can see fat me, you can see the losing me. LOL

I'm 38, single with no kids. In about 7 weeks or so, I'll be traveling a lot more for my consultant job. I'm trying to build a firm foundation with low carb, so it won't be as difficult once the traveling starts. Plus, I'd REALLY like to not have to worry about airplane seatbelts not fitting....ugh

I've been back to low carbing since 7/8, so it's been about 9 days now. I've done very well with the weight loss (7.6 lbs so far), but I know that will slow down and that's when I'll really need encouragement. I eat pretty clean right now....nothing to drink but water and splenda tea. No treats except for the occasion SF jello about three times a week. I don't mind cooking, but only do it about 2-3 times a week and then eat leftovers the other nights.

Okay, I'm off to bed...or attempt to sleep anyway.

Have a great night all!
Nicole

Good day ladies.
Just a quick fly by check in. The temps here are suppose to hit triple digits! Whatever you do, be sure to hydrate. It's good for you and helps to release all those bad things from your body.
Tuesdays are one of the most uneventful days on the calendar.

Good Morning Ladies!! Welcome Nicole!

I am down a few pounds, which I know is the water weight I gained from eating out all day Sunday (darn sodium). Today I have many medical appts (oncology followups). I am hoping the wind settles down, so we can take the Harley.

This week is definitely cooler than last week, guess yall in the midwest and east are getting it now. I do not miss the 111 we had here. So who here works, or stays at home or is retired? Kids? Grandkids? Married? Single? Furkids? Lets tell a little bit about ourselves!

I am married, with two children (both grown and married) DH has two children (both grown and married as well) All 4 are in the military. We have 1 grandchild so far, an adorable blue eyed baby boy. I am retired (5 yrs early for medical).

Christina, the hot tub was wonderful.. but it's my surgery side (r) that is giving me fits. Lymphedema is no fun! From the side of my breast, down to below my ribcage-also the upper part of my right arm is effected. I am so ready for the pump machine to be approved, so I can get back to normal..

I live in PR, I'm 39 and I'm an administrative assistant/secretary to a small asphalt paving company, which is currently trying to purchase land to put in a plant (and will be closer to home, so plans to quit are on hold at the moment).

I'm a single mom of 2. Mario is 18 and will be a sophomore in college and Lee is 16 will be a senior in HS this year. I already know it will be a hectic school year in my household.

No current pics since I avoid them like a plague.
