I would sure like to resurrect the 1 lb per week challenge.
I also won't say how much my scale has NOT gone down............

But 1 lb per week average now would be 28 or 29 lbs.
I would be ecstatic if I could do 20# by end of year.

Anyone want to try again on the 1# per week? Only thing is that I need someone to remind me not too gently to stay on track, be it for eating or excercising.

Actually the eating has been going pretty well, but the exercise has stunk. Now I need to re-commit to activity EVERY day, in some form or another.

Welcome for anyone to jump in here with me. I will post my starting weight on Sunday as 194. Actually, based on that, I better shoot for 25# by end of year!!!

Karen, I have two other threads I have committed to but if I can pop in short and sweet I would like to commit to losing one pound a week. I will check in every day and say if I am heading in the right direction. Wishing us both success!

Good morning Karen! I have weighed myself and written it down. Besides keeping as low carb as I can I am going to try to track my calories better.

Do you have strategies that work well for you to keep on track?

I am going for slow and steady this time......so trying to make things habits.

I am working at just following a PLAN of some kind, and sticking with it. My eating has been getting more "on-plan".

This week, I am going to drink no pop (soda). I know the less I drink, the less it sounds good. So I am going to stay with Crystal lights and other SF drinks but no carbonation, and see if that affects the scale. See how a week or two, and see if it impacts the scale.

Karen, I think staying away from the carbonated drinks will be a help. I have several things I need to stay away from. If I do I know I will be able to lose that one pound a week.

Have a good day!

Good morning Karen!

I am eating mainly meat, chicken, fish, eggs, pork skins and coffee with cream. I went for about a month drinking my coffee black which I don't really like and did not see any difference on the scale so I am back to using cream again.

Eating leftover steak from grilling on Sunday for lunch at work today.

Plan on Fridays being my official weigh in day even though I weigh every day.

Have a good day!

Good for you. Sounds like staying on track. That is where I usually fail.......that one meal or snack that is off-plan. (or the chocolate fix, after I have had a LC meal)

I hope for success, for both of us.

Karen, I am hoping for success for us both too!

On Sunday we had a salad with our steak and I am bringing the rest of the bag for lunch today before it goes bad. I hate to waste food and I always end up throwing away the leftover bagged salad. Will have pork skins on the side.

Have a great day!

I am going to go with weekly average weights, and doing that after Saturday weigh-in.

This will make it tougher to get scale down because it takes out the chance of catching a "whoosh" day, but truer picture of the scale.

Hope your weight day is nice to you!!

Well Karen, no loss no gain for me today. Hope your Saturday weigh in goes good for you. I start a weeks vacation tomorrow so that could be good or bad. I can drink more water when I am not at work but then I will be buying groceries and cooking for my DD and family arriving from Missouri tomorrow night. That will be 6 more people to look after. If I can get through this next week without gaining I think I can start losing after that when things get back to normal.

Have a great day! More egg salad and pork rinds today for lunch.

Good luck on the scale and enjoy the family and vacation. There are times when "minimizing the damage" is a good goal. And if you are the one cooking, maybe you can slide in some carb-friendly foods...and work that water. It helps me, but I just have a tough time getting enough drank........like my SF drinks

I will keep checking in, and see how my weekend weigh in goes.

Glad to see this thread, thanks for keeping it alive.
I'm Toby and I am returning to LC lifestyle and race walking after about a 2 year hiatus. In 2009 I lost 75 lbs with the help of WW. I maintained by switching to a lower carb primal way of eating but I had an injury and stopped walking, then I stopped lifting and 20 lbs has crept back on.

Injury has been healed about 10 months, no more excuses. Time to feel better, time to think better. I am currently using the Warrior Diet Plan as a WOE. I am really liking it and having some successful weight loss too. I believe this could become a lifestyle. I've begun training for my next race and I dusted off my kettlebells.

I am not looking for a super speedy weight loss, I am too old for my skin to catch up I just want to be healthy for my first event of 2015.

Welcome!!!
At least you have an injury to blame. I just let life get the best of me. I lost 20 lbs with Atkins, and then husband had back surgery in summer (I had to pick up lots of his workload) and then father-in-law passed away in November of that same year. Jumped up 10#, and then life just kept keeping me overwhelmed and put the other 10# back on.

I just want slow decrease, but to KEEP it off!!

I am not making 1 lb per week. Going to try and change my thinking a little bit. But I am NOT giving up. I have gotten to where too much sugar makes me feel ill........ I can easily live with 12 oz pop or less each day. Have made some of these changes. Just need to force myself to become more active, like I used to be!!!!!!!

Toby, glad you are all healed from your injury and can get back walking and preparing for your next event in 2015. Tell us about your warrior diet when you get a chance.

Karen, glad you are not giving up. Me either! Do you mainly ride horses for exercise when you have time?

DD and family are still on the road. We have had fun texting with the kids.

Talk to you in the morning!
