Nice area, Tony! I hope you all can wait for me to hit my goal weight

That is a very kind offer, Tony and a great incentive.

Nice cottage Tony! It's about twice the size of our house! lol Your offer for when we hit goal sounds super nice but I can't even get DH to go to the family get together at the lake tomorrow and I get lost if I drive more than 20 miles from home. Ha Ha.

I made it to day 4 at the wax museum - yea! And I am back to losing afew ounces today.

Had a BK whopper last night minus the bun. It tasted so good with the pickles, mayo, onion and tomato. Like a salad on top of a burger. Also had coffee with cream at lunch and almond butter bread with butter at 2pm.

Hadn't heard rain was coming in FF. Maybe it will cool it off a little. I know we need some rain. The lawn is looking pretty bad.

Have a great Friday all!

I wanted to post a couple of pictures of two recipes I made a couple of days ago but can't figure it out. Anyways, I made Mini Pepper Poppers, similar to jalepeno poppers. Cream cheese and onion filling stuffed into halved mini peppers and wrapped with 1/2 slice bacon and baked til bacon was cooked. Yum. My 12 yr old son liked them too. I also made a Mediterranean Kale Salad which was really good too.

If you know how to post thumbnails or pics please let me know.

well Tony, only about 200 lbs more for me.

i hope u will not make the others wait for me. there will be no one alive by that time. However, rain or shine I AM gonna be at the park tomorrow in my shorts and sandals. Let these shoes air out till Monday. I did yield, and get the Caesar at McD, and not the diner. I have no Marcus Licinius Crassus from whom to borrow money. McD salads are very fresh. NO SOUP FOR ME THIS WEEKEND. We are back to the 90s again. Even with the AC on, the kitchen is much too hot to be in. I know that when i retire, I will be making soups from scratch. There is no substitute for home made. You all should check out the food porn section of LCF. There are so many choices of sweet and savory, almost all of which are currently beyond my culinary skill limitations. but, in the future they won't be FF

abi, you must be looking at the wrong cottage - mine is a 10-ft wide L-shaped building, the kids used to call "the shed"...lol...

you guys are all welcome anytime, even before we all get to goal! :-)

marilee, how are you?...things getting better, i hope...

gonna try to drink a lot and spend some time exercising in the pool today after getting some work done...there is a chance i will buy a piece of my former lumber yard back from my former partners - we split the property up 7 years ago and i sold my portion last year...the lumber yard that bought me out is doing fine and now my former partners want to sell their property and i am considering that...

i manage that property for them anyway and have negotiated a nice long term tenant lease with a planet fitness gym, and there is still about 14,000 square feet left in the building...i could take some space and build out my writing studio/office and a music venue to bring my friends up from nashville to play concerts again...and the rental income from the rest of the building would allow me to write full-time...so it might work out...we'll see...

still no word from the doc on a surgery date...i'm not anxious - i'd rather do it later than sooner!...

hope everyone has a great on-plan friday!...

p.s. ff, "no soup for you!"

LOL!

Thanks for asking, Tony. I'm pulling out of my depressed state. It happens

It's RAINING!!! HALLELUJAH! This is the 3rd time we've gotten rain in a week. The first storm parts of the Valley got 1/2 inch, it rained night before last for a bit and now it's raining. Woo hoo!

if u are going to include a fitness ctr...perhaps

u should refer to your portion as the lumbAr yard!!! I WILL most certainly make a pilgrimage this weekend to THE BAKERY to pick up a loaf of their (and mine)low carb bread (3 net gr for 2 slices). Whining time(about the heat) is about over. I am sounding like a broken record on ther subject. No bread on soup day. I have 3 more cans to use up. Then I am going to make better choices, but not necessarily Induction. I think I would like to stay in the 30-40 gr range, and cut down on the calories GRADUALLY. Tonight I am going to B&N to see if they have the new issue of BBC magazine. It would be unpardonably unBrooklyn of me if I bypassed 5 guys burgers across the street. However, I shall have no burgers, but i will have franks with mustard, kraut and relish. As today is the beginning of carboval (farewell to excessive carbs), i shall enjoy an order of their fries as well. I NEED CLOSURE before I get serious about returning to la vida low carb. I hope everyone has a great weekend. Tony, swim an extra lap for me, please!!! oh, btw I re-instituted the SEINFELD QUIZ QUESTION THREAD in the PLAYGROUND. those of you are SEINFELD fans, please visit and play. FF

i can barely find my way back to this thread - i do that by bookmarking the page...but i can never seem to find my way around other parts of this site... :-(

ff, sounds like you have a plan - i hope you really enjoy the dogs and fries today and then get in a good groove for the rest of the summer...

this is our time to shine guys!...it is so much easier to lose when we can move around and get outside and when the heat helps curb our appetites...we have the next 4 months before the holiday season starts and it gets a LOT harder!...so, let's all try to find our mojo and a plan that works and rock this blitz!

today:
b: 1 hb egg white
l: cantaloup and watermelon cubes
d: leftover burgers, steak sandwiches (breadless) and steak tips

just got home and my son and i were about to jump in the pool and it started pouring and thundering - we are pretty disappointed and hope it stops so we get some swimming in!...ff, if the rain stops, i'll do 2 laps for ya!

how is everyone else doing today?...

Well yesterday ended up being Fast Eight instead of Fast Five. I had good intentions of keeping with the coffee at lunch break and bread at 2pm break but then they brought in lunch for us. Delicious chicken and turkey wraps, salad, cake and ice cream! I had two wraps (minus the wrap) salad but no cake or ice cream. But the mindset was lost and I ate nuts and some chips when I got home. My rings are tight today and the scale is up. At the lake today I can't make any promises but tomorrow I will have the usual eggs and bacon at the cc and hopefully will be back on track.

Tony, I was looking at the right house I think. I zoomed it up so maybe that is why it looked so big. lol It had the picket fence around it, a deck in the crook of the L, and was L shaped. Very nice! Anything by the ocean is fantastic. When I get a chance I will post pics of where we lived for our last 10 years in Alabama. Sure do miss the ocean!

Marilee, hoping the rain cooled it down for you at least while it was coming down! That would help pull me out of a depression too. We really need some rain here. We did not get any of Tony's storm.

FF, so glad you are determined to get in a walk today. Enjoy your carbovol day. Those franks with mustard, kraut and relish sound divine! The thought is making my mouth water!

Vicki, my post below I will attempt to look at the steps to post a picture. Off the top of my head I can't think of how I do it.

I am following my sister in law up to the lake and my brother is riding his bike. He is leaving at 5 this morning and we are leaving at 8. We will look along the way to make sure he didn't break down anywhere. Why anyone would ride a bike for 3 hours in this heat I don't know. But this is the same brother who was a terrific marathon runner in his younger days. So I guess that mindset doesn't leave you as you get older. Wish me luck on getting back home on my own. The last time I tried this I ended up going toward Boston coming out of Concord before I realized I had taken the wrong exit!

When I got my time sheet signed yesterday my supervisor said see you next week so it looks like I am good for day 5!!

Ok Vicki, this one way to download a photo

start your post in "go advanced"
your photo needs to be already on your computer in your picture file
you will see at the bottom of the screen where it says "Additional Options"
click on the box that says "manage attachments"
it will take you to a screen that says "browse" so click on that
go to your picture file and open it
click on the photo you want to post and open it
click on the word "upload"
to the left of the word "remove" you will see that your jpg photo title is listed there
then get out of the manage attachment screen
and hit submit your reply.
Your post and the photo should then be posted.

Hope I didn't miss a step!

wow, abi, you may not be able to find your way home, but you ARE technologically savvy!...i didn't even know you could zoom in on the photo...but you had the correct cottage...lol...please do post a photo of your alabama home when you have time...

i hope you enjoy your day at the lake and don't obsess over what you eat or don't eat...if you have a taste or two of the things you really desire, it can keep you from getting frustrated and giving up and overeating a bunch of stuff you don't even really want, just to exert control...

congrats on earning a day 5 at the wax museum :-)

marilee, i am helpless and hopeless, but thanks for trying...i can find my way here by clicking on the bookmark i've set...thank goodness or you'd never hear from me again...

my curfew is 5 days a week and i ate way too late on my night off last night and i hate the feeling the next morning of still having food in my stomach...i won't eat this morning and will feel better by afternoon...

hope kbeth gets back soon...i wonder how artemis and jenny are doing - i miss them...i guess britt ditched us...lol...

enjoy the day guys!

Tony, I did taste alot of this and that so way too much food but nothing way off plan. When you get there at 11 and dinner is not going to be ready until 2 and then it was actually 3 then there is no way I am going to be able to sit at a picnic table laden with snacks as we all sat around chatting. I tried some sweet potato and beet dehydrated chips ( blah) and a dip my sister had found on pinterest. It was cream cheese mixed with fresh garlic and scallions on the bottom, a layer of artichoke humus, then chopped up tomatoes, layer of chopped of calamata olives, fresh grated feta cheese and topped with fresh parsley. It was so different and delicious. I used raw veggies to dip which was not as good as the pita chips the rest were using. Anyway, I ate too much so am going to try to cut back today. No breakfast out as my brother and sil stayed up at the lake at some friends place. By the way, my brother did make the whole bike ride. We caught up with him in Newport and we stopped for coffee. My sil wanted to stop at the Tanger Mall on the way into Tilton so I went on to the lake. John actually arrived there before his wife! 100 miles!!

Dinner was marinated steak, terriaki and maple bourbon and chicken that was also marinated in some delicious flavor and a big salad. I left around 3:30 and managed to make it home without a wrong turn. It really was simple going through Concord. I don't know how I managed to head to Boston two years ago. lol

Oh, I also had a drink made with crystal lite lemonade and a shot of blueberry vodka! Not sweet but delicous and refreshing!

Vicki, I have used photo bucket too but never can remember what my password is. ha ha

Will check back in later after all the sleepyheads get going to see what everyone is up to.

Have a wonderful Sunday Blitzers!

greetings, BLITZERS!

it was not the joy i anticipated...the franks and the fries, i mean. i turned the ac on as soon as i got home Friday eve, and never left the building since. of course, i must tomorrow, if i want to keep a roof over my head. there has been a change in my daily work load. there is more to do, but i am glad for it, as it makes the day go faster. Enjoy what is left of the weekend. F-exactly 7 months before I retire-F.

hey guys, only have a few minutes as i'm in the midst of a whirlwind couple of days...

first let me say, thanks for the photos girls!...abi, your home in alabama was awesome!!!...i didn't know you were living ON THE BEACH!...no wonder you miss it!

and vicki, that food looks delicious - you should be a chef, or a food photographer or both!

abi, sounds like you managed the party very well - you can't do any better than that!...i can't believe your brother cycled 100 miles - esp. in this heat...wow!

i took my youngest son to maine last night to take my oldest son out to dinner - i felt badly that he was working up there alone and i wouldn't see him until i get back from nashville late thursday...we spent the night and headed out at 8:30 this morning after breakfast...very nice time...

spent some time exercising in the pool today and i have been craving fried chicken so i had some tonight...i've been eating so healthy, i gave this indulgence to myself knowing i will behave very well in nashville this week!...

today:
b: 2 fried eggs and 1 slice whole wheat toast
l: 1 plum
d: 3 fried chicken thighs, a dollop of mashed potatoes and gravy and a bit of cole slaw

my flight this afternoon got delayed beyond my connection so i changed to a later flight and the same thing happened, so i have to be up at 4 and am flying out at 6 a.m. and supposedly landing in nash at 9:05 - gotta grab a rental car and rush to a meeting at 10 with a publisher - i hope i make it on time!...then i'll return the car as i have my own car there now...sarah is working or she could have picked me up...i will see her tomorrow night for sure...

so that's my life kids...gonna be really good on the road but won't be able to weigh-in officially until next tuesday...

i will check in with y'all once i get settled in nashvegas...have a great night!

p.s. ff, it was a good weekend to lay low, bro!

Phew Tony, my head is spinning just trying to figure out if you are going to make that publisher's meeting at 10 or not! I guess the jet setter's life is not all that wonderful. Have a safe trip and hope all goes well!

FF, 7 months is going to go so fast. I am thrilled for you! So many opportunities ahead for you. Number one, you will get to sleep in!!!!! So you didn't get to eat the hot dogs or they didn't taste that good?

Yes Tony, right on the beach! It was wonderful but I will show you the down side when I get a chance of what happened after Hurricane Ivan and then a year later after Katrina.

Well back to the candle factory this morning and I will try to get back to eating after 2pm. I like that feeling of not eating all day long even if the weight is not falling off me.

Have a great Monday Blitzers!

I didn't know you could do that, neat. No beans, pine nuts.

Approx. 6 cups of kale cut in thin strips, 1 tomato diced, 1/4 cup pine nuts, 1/4 cup diced kalamari olives, 1/4 c olive oil, 1/4 c lemon jc, 2 Tbsp olive jc.

Mix the dressing ingredients and let set while you prep the rest of the ingredients. Massage the dressing into the kale, squeezing the kale. Add in the rest and let marinate in refrig. This will help to soften the kale since it is a bit tough.

but i did not have the anticipated satisfaction. But like George Costanza says when he is breaking up with a girl, "it wasn't them, it was me". except in this case it WAS me. I am just not enjoying food lately, be it on or off plan. More later. FF

not enjoying food, ff?...hmmmm?...i wonder what that's about?...let us know if you figure it out...

i DID make my meeting!!!...got there at 9:45...getting up at 4:15 was no picnic - i don't know how you do it, abi!...

had peanuts on the plane for breakfast and went out with a buddy for lunch and had 6 buffalo wings - they were yummy!...went to the market and bought a variety of fruit - some honeydew, cantaloupe, plums , peaches and bananas...won't eat them all, but will use them for breakfast, snacks and maybe even lunches in small quantities...

just got to the apartment - i had to pay $100 for a rental car just to make my meeting and now i have my car and a rental car parked here - maybe sarah can follow me to the airport when she gets out of work to return it...

i think i'm gonna take a short nap to recharge...i'm a bit tired...

hope everyone is having a great day!!!

okay, up from my nap, which was very refreshing, by the way :-)

had a few cubes of honeydew and really could go without eating anything else, but sarah is coming over for a bite after work, so i ordered some italian take-out:
rustic chicken and shrimp pasta and chicken and spinach manicotti...i have eaten about 700 calories so far today, so i will just have a taste and pick around the pasta...

i have no pots and pans here yet - bought most everything else i need but we have extra cookware at home we will drive down next week when the whole family comes...my youngest son and i will fly (i can't sit in a car for 19 hours with my hip right now) and dw and our two oldest sons will drive down...

how is everyone else doing?...feeling motivated?...let's start this blitz off strong, kids!

Tonight's supper, Cheeseburger Salad, yummy. Doesn't look that great with the cell phone camera though.
