Morning Girls!

Back home.
Had a great couple of days with DD.
We think we found her a new place - a nice little rental in a cute little residential neighborhood with a great park across the street.....they police it regularly as it's a huge meeting place for community events and they don't want it to be a hang out. It definitely is circa 1960 ala Mad Men and SO DD and her DF!!! Fenced in yard too for the pups. It is a little out of the way of all their regular hang outs but with this move - if it goes through - they both would be half way from work. Right now DF is very close (and so is DD with her internship) but DD is about 1/2 hour away.

We had alot of fun - DF was gone with his band, so it was just her and I -got to see her internship job office (very cool), then we just went all over the place in between showings......I ended up buying her a few career pieces while shopping.......she is so appreciative!

Today is getting ready for my Dad......groceries and need to get a few new towels.....he likes the BIG HUGE ones and I only have regular size towels for guests.

They will be arriving on Tuesday and I will meet them at Rehab Tuesday afternoon.....

DH off to the office this a.m., I am going to work out, get some groceries and then off to Kohl's and back here to get some stuff done!

Anxious to hear how Debbie's shopping trip went as well!

Becky - I am back at it today with you as well - the last couple days weren't bad, but not what I have been doing and that is a slippery slope. Don't want to undo what I have done!!!

I am here. Went to Alexandria to dress shop yesterday. Got there early so walked by the river for a while. Wearing the wrong shoes for cobblestones. She found at least one dress she loves. I do not like long trains. Went to farmers market. Bought Isabella two barettes.

Went to lunch in Alexandria and her mom paid. I paidbthe $10 parking and drove so guess we were even. Hung out here and Jordan made dinner. Stayed up till 11 and got up for abrun. Decided they could make breakfast. I have Becca and her mother here. Am I a good FIMIL or what.

Don is watching Isabella till dinner time. I will go over later. Next dress appointment noon. I have to be careful what I say but she has heard me about ball gown length trains for an out door wedding in the nid day with no real sit down meal just stations and people sit where ever they want.

Morning-
Its another water polo day for DS14. He does at least get to sleep in a little (yesterday and today)
I did find a couple of hours to spend working in the yard yesterday. Its better, but still needs more attention.

Gonna go chat with DS18 before he heads off to work. (he's happy to get to watch water polo from the life guard chair today)

Wish I was with Don and Isabella.

Rebecca's mom says Don and her husband should talk wedding budget. With all our scedules we won't meet him till October. He isn't available Saturdays and I work every Sunday. If am off we are traveling or busy with other commitments. He is religious and goes to temple Saturdays. He works 90 minutes from their home and rents a place there for during the week. Rebecca avoids her dad and doesn't want to discuss the wedding with him. How can they plan without a budget??

Oh Debbie, I feel for u as I remember Kim's wedding all to clear.

I have my mom for her surgery. My nerves are already taking a bearing, she complains about everything. On the way here she left me know she couldn't stand Adele's voice. Grrrr! She's complaining about Alyssa's show on the Disney channel.

Going to go see if jOhn needs any help with his fishing gear.

Oh no Debbie! That is going to be hard if she doesn't want to discuss the wedding with her Dad!!!

Becky - My Dad told me my Mom is def getting better - she is getting back to her ornery self..... They will arrive here on Tuesday and I will take them to rehab and we will get my mom settled.

Prayers for your Mom's surgery!

That is awesome news Cindy!

Debbie, I hope things get better. How stressful for u and Don!

MK... I'll hold ur purse on the plane. I forgOt that u asked me if John still thinks u will take my purse. John didn't, it was Mom. She just made him take me to lunch and since she had just had her accident we didn't want to argue with her. He thinks it's great that we met, he thinks we shud get together again and with more shorties! He's very supportive of my imaginary friends. Lol

Thinking of your mom and you today Becky.

Up early. Work at 10:45.

Was with Isabella till around 7:30. Billy and Mirsa had a long ride home due to traffic and storms.

Cindy, I am glad your mom is recovering well. She may not need rehab for long. She has to get her strength back.

Kelly, hope you recovered from your busy weekend.

Jenn, come back for more then a quick hi!

Kaye too!

MK, glad you had a nice trip.

Supposed to be back to 100 degrees tomorrow. I am in charge of medical for a race Saturday night and don't want extreme heat.

Becky, news from mom's appt today???

MK, recovering from your trip??

Cindy, today will be a busy day for you with mom and dad coming.

Kelly, do things slow down for you in the summer? doesn't seem like they do.

Jenn, are you doing OK? Painting?? what color and what room.

I do not paint. A) I can't seem to get it right. I see streaks etc B) not good with edges C) I hate the mess I make.

Kaye, come back and say hi please!!!!

I have skills day(part 2) at 1:45. I am going to Panera in around 30 minutes and getting lunch for a friend who is in the hospital and his wife. I will be seeing them before skills day. After I am meeting a friend to run. It is hot so we may just do a short loop around 3 miles or so.

DH away for the night. He is in Tampa.

So I worked 11-7 yesterday. I was in the main which I don't like. I thought I was on 8 hours. I didn't even turn the grid over for the last 4 hours. I left around 7:45 and came home and ate dinner. Then I get a call that I was on the schedule till 11. I looked at my calender and I was on till 11 and didn't see it. I was supposed to be working in EPTU the psych ER which was closed. She thought I was floating around helping and didn't realize I left. I felt horrible but she said it was OK and laughed at me. She is my team leader. I thought I was on only 8 hour shifts the month of July. I guess I better look at my schedule better or get my eyes checked because I didn't see 11.

As for my eyes, I had an exam two weeks ago. I tried going back to two contacts for distance instead of mono-vision where you wear a lens in one eye and use the other for reading. I hated the fact I couldn't see close up at all with contacts for distance. I hate reading glasses. Now I need to decide what to do as I need to improve my distance and reading vision.
I need to go back to eye doctor but haven't scheduled an appt yet.

I have to leave soon as work is 20 minutes away and Panera is crazy at lunch time. I told them I would be by Bob's room at 12:15 which is a bit over an hour from now.

Poor guy he has meningitis. He had a dental implant and got sick after. He went home and had to go back in the hospital.

Doc appt went better than I anticipated!!!! She isn't seeing as well as he liked the first day but he said its not surprising with as hard of a time as he had with it. He said her eye took a lot of trauma. She doesn't have to go back tonight to have more bubble inserted. That was my fear was another trip back... Not only cuz of more trauma to the eye but also the endless b*tch*ng!!!! Omg girls, she's JUST like my gma! Ugh! The pressure was 29, it was 17 when we left yesterday. So, he wants to see her on Fiday at 915 to check and see if he can see better and to check the pressure.

Waiting for Kim as soon as gracie wakes up, so I can make a grocery run. Getting ready to turn the sprinkler on. It's 97* now I think, it was suppose to get up to 99 by 6.... 104* heat index.

Bbl... Gotta water my grass!!!

I.Am.Exhausted.

I was up at 4, worked out, to work by 8, was swamped, then left at 3 to meet parents.
Got them to hospital, after some issues - - got her checked in and most stuff done and then Dad and I left about 6 - we were so tired. The facility is gorgeous and the staff is awesome! I am thinking she will make quick progress!!

Becky; glad to hear about your Mom!

Thanks for the thoughts all!

Cindy, that was a hard day.

Trying to plan a quick trip up to Syracuse for my dad's 80th birthday. Trying to go up and back same day. My one brother would come. My other brother isn't working and in Ca. I hate to leave him out but this trip would cost him money he doesn't have.
This is September 6.

I went to hospital around 12:20 with lunch for my friend who is a patient and his wife. Then did second part of skills day. Then ran with three people at 6:30. So hot!!!

No big plans for tomorrow. I do want to do work on medical club stuff. Packing medical boxes for Saturday night race at 7p.

Wedding will be family and friends.

I will ask about aspheric multifocsl lenses

2:42 and awake. Woke up boiling but didn't put fab OB when I fell asleep. Air conditioning doesn't work well upstairs. Suppose to get to 100 today. May hit the gym for run instead of outside. Can't run tonight.

Up early to thunderstorms.
We need the rain.
Been upper 90's here and no rain. Supposed to cool into the 80's for a few days then back into the 90's again! UGH.
I hate having air on, but like you Debbie - need it for upstairs.....and it never gets cool enough up there.

Fingers crossed that Mom's rehab is only for a couple weeks. Dad started telling us last night "well maybe we can go golfing on Saturdays and you can go up and see your Mom for a few hours with the girls." . I did tell him I wouldn't be going up during the week. I definitely will go up on the weekend, but I don't need him directing me. I am not 10. I am just going to have to bite my tongue. My good friend sent me an email pep talk yesterday and I think I am going to need to read and reread it.

Or call you Mary Kay!

Off to work and working late today - we have Instant App Event from 2-6.

We have meeting with Disability Support Coordinator at MC in a week. I think my son will change to certificate program for Food Service Mangement. His GF is thinking about working as teaching assistant at nonpublic school my son went to. It is private but tuition paid by state and local school when they can't educate in regular setting. The pay is horrible but so is her current job. She needs a Masters because a family study degree is taking her far. I don't know what he will do. He makes very little. They want an apartment but can't afford one. He has horrible ADD and meds don't help him. He has horrible side effects.

Then there is the wedding saga. DS28 has been told we won't pay for the wedding. We will have rehearsal dinner and pay for some things but we have paid to get him out of debt to the tune of thousands of dollars. We paid for the ring.( he has to pay us back)
Rebecca wants it all. Let her parents pay for it. I do not like the way she doesn't show gratitude and what I do will be for my son and for us. I will keep guest list way down. Most people won't travel from out of town anyways but very close family.

I have to get up and get moving or I will lie here for hours.

DH needs info from downstairs.

We run air condition all the time from probably April-October. The heat pump doesn't cool the upstairs. It is a good 10 or more degrees warmer then down stairs. I set the thermostat at around 72. I have fans but didn't have it on when I went to bed. Add night sweats of menopause and I wake up very hot. I see why people take sleeping pills but I won't.

DH on a plane home but going to the office.

He was at the White House again Monday for a elderly health care summit.
If Paul Ryan's budget cuts happen Medicaid and Medicare will have huge cuts which will effect seniors and providers. They want to cut funding to Planned Parenthood,NPR ,PBS completely. Those are just some of the cuts. Read about it if you have time. Congress can't agree on a budget or tax increases so the cuts begin.

Morning-

Debbie, things are actually busier in the summer and fall with sports. Summer is good because at least I'm not saying, "did you finish your homework"
DS18's friends go between here and one other house, so I frequently have a house full of teenage boys. (so extra grocery trips on a regular basis) They are all really good kids and I like it that they are comfortable hanging out here, plus it means I don't have to worry about DS18 being out late since they are here.

MK, (& Debbie) I wore toric lenses forever. DH and I both had lasic surgery about 10 years ago and it was definitely money well spent! I know at some point we'll both need reading glasses but it was so freeing not to have to find your glasses to get to the bathroom to put in your contacts!
We told both boys we would pay for that for them if they are good candidates when they are old enough. The eye dr already said DS18 should be a good candidate in his early/mid-20's, DS14 we'll have to wait and see since he has worn bifocals since 2nd grade.

Becky, glad things are getting better for your mom.
(I won't mention the weather )

Cindy, hope your parents are getting settled in and your mom progresses quickly. I know I have to bite my tongue with my mom (& grandma) from time to time and that is with distance and everyone healthy. Stress makes it worse. and hang in there!

Jenn & Kaye, hope things are good for both of you!

Lasic scares me. I hate the idea of reading glasses. I am going to stick to the one contact and hope I can manage for a while more. I need to go back to eye doctor and figure it out.

Went to gym and ran and did a bit on the bike. I also stretched. I was drenched. Did my grocery shopping but need bleach and didn't realize it do will go back at some pt. Doing laundry now and need to shower.

I feel like I have so much going on lately. Both the medical volunteer duties are huge with the one in September requiring a ton of work. I have to get my miles up for a half marathon in October and December. I am coaching a pace group in the 10 K program starting in mid August. I have work and more education to do. Just signed up for an 8 hour preceptor class. Have one hour meeting next week to discuss ways to improve ER flow. It goes on and on. Oh yes and then there is my family and all that drama. Have meeting with DS21s counselor next week and we have refinance closing same day next week. Got a 10 year mortgage for 3 percent. 10 years and I will be retiring (I hope).

Debbie, I was nervous about the lasic surgery too. (DH went first, ) After needing glasses since about 6th grade it is so nice not to need them anymore.
Good luck with all of the stressful things you have going on at the moment.

MK, I still need to figure out what we are having for dinner. I have a fridge full of veggies since yesterday was our weekly farmers market, but not sure what I want with them.
It will be something on the grill since its a little warm today and I don't want to turn on the stove/oven since we don't have a/c.

Home.
My family is up at hospital.
I didn't get home till 7.
We were slammed at event - I didn't come up for air until it was over at 6.

Debbie - hang in there. I am thinking I may have some wedding drama with DD22 and her DF. He comes from a very well off family and he thinks they are going to have EVERYTHING. I told DD there is a budget and she also wants to do things cheaply so they can use funds for honeymoon.

It's a battle sometimes!! Hugs to all I'm off to bed shortly.

I made Egg Muffins yesterday and have been having 2 for breakfast. Lunch is spinach salad with some fruit and almonds. Dinner tonight will be burgers with "stuff" in them . . . onions, peppers, etc.
