DH and I enjoyed Friday night. It was fun, dinner and then we walked around the Plaza. It was all great!

Saturday was supposed to be a DD. I was STARVED from the moment I woke. Not a good sign. I ate a larger type breakfast. That seemed to help. Our family volunteered to serve at LINK which is our towns nutrition kitchen for the homeless. From 12 - 2, I did nothing but work with, smell and serve FOOD! When we left, I was almost besides myself with HUNGER! Not a good combo. Saturday ended up a Mid-day and Sunday my Up Day. Today will be a good DD and I hope to keep it under 600c!

Next weekend will be 4 days of not counting anything. We are heading to ST Louis and I will start with a SOLID DD on Friday, but after that, I am sure Sunday and Tuesday won't be DD's. I think I will just come back to work on Wednesday the 5th and do my DD thus switching my rotation around. After Labor Day weekend, I plan to really hit things hard. I have gotten too relaxed with this all. I have very successfully maintained, but that is NOT my goal. I want 12 more pounds gone, so starting 09/05 (my birthday) I will start focusing on making that happen! I gave my body a weight loss break, now it's time to get serious again!

Lynne, I have a rather non-traditional experiment for you to try. Since you seem to be in limbo land you may find that your body is really good at the status quo, what I have found works really well for me is to confuse the heck out of your "office manager" (I still laugh at that). When my weight seems really stuck, as crazy as I seems I have a UUAD or a free day where I don't count too much, then a REALLY good DD the next day. Then each week I'll have a few 500 calorie DD's and then the rest are between 200 and 400 calories. I think it keeps everything confused which is great for weight loss. Even shaking up your carb level could help get your out of your funk. Indulgent followed by meager.

If you notice on the JUDDD board, often when people come back from vacation their weight is up but within a few cycles they have dropped to new low's. I think there has got to be something to that.

Melanie, 188! I would totally claim it. I saw 166.6 2 times this morning, but 30 minutes later couldn't get it to go below 167. I'm still claiming it

Thanks everyone else for the encouragement and support. We are going to do this!

Morning ladies! Its a gloomy Monday here... And my scal just decided to play games again. But I find I'm not stressing about it as much these days. I know it will come. So on a happy note, I discovered a soy based pasta last week that is only 1.1 carbs for 85g! and made it for dinner last night... And it was fantastic! Tasted like the real deal! And I was down a tiny bit from yesterday, so I don't think it reall affected me! I was really worried that, but I'm happy to have found a substitute! Now that being said. I won't be indulging in it daily or even weekly... But it's a nice option to have once in a while!!

Okay, I'm in.

I'm going to try something I haven't done yet: having 3 cycles of UDs that are high-calorie but low-carb. No fruit, no grains, no lc ice cream, no frankenfoods. Then my usual 500 calorie DD's (I can't go lower than 500 without risking the couch cushions getting eaten, but I can exercise...so I lean that direction).

Yay, cocoa roasted almonds and flax muffins here I come!!

NSV's, let's see... I needed to run outside early to get my trash out and found a pair of 11 juniors shorts that my neighbor gave me (obscenely too short) anyway I threw them on knowing they wouldn't fit but they buttoned and zipped. Now I'm sure they looked awful, but with a long t-shirt it was passable.

My MIL who I haven't seen in about 60 lbs is coming for a visit in mid-september so my mini goal is to get well into the 160's by the time I see her. I was 169.8 this morning so I really need to get in gear. Had a great 400 calorie DD tomorrow and I'm keeping the wine and carbs in check so hopefully I'll have great news to report soon.
Lots of good stuff here, Elise! Love Love Love it!!!

Been there done that! The best I advise I have is to pre-make as much as you can. Grill up a bunch of chicken breasts, slice them & divide them into meal or serving sizes and throw them in the freezer... they only take a minute to thaw out or throw them in the fridge in the morning... and put them over salad, mix them into pasta for the rest of the fam, throw in blender to make chicken salad, etc. Whatever you do make, make double and put half in the freezer... and of course there are tons of crock pot recipes out there that you can start in the morning and have ready whenever you get home. It's tough and I know that's when our huge issue with fast food started. It's just so much easier to grab something on the way home.

Good Monday morning ladies!!! Well it's still morning here, anyway

Sorry for the individual replies above... sometimes it's just easier to get caught up that way.

Lynne, can't wait to see how your experiment goes! Every time I think I need to mix things up my body lets go of a little weight and I think hmmm... maybe this is working... and then it stalls again. Hmmm..

That said I'm down a pound to 224. I'll take it, but I want more... I'm so ready to be out of these 220's! Heck I'm ready to be out of the 200's... I'm not feeling like a patient grasshopper this morning

Monica - hope you've had an awesome date night with your husband! Good luck this week - it seems like you're super-busy.

Tami - yay for 224! You'll lose more soon!!

Melanie - total 70 pounds lost! Congratulations!!

boop13 - total 50 pounds lost! Congratulations to you too!! And what brand is the pasta that you bought? I'm wondering if I can find it in Ontario too...

Elise - I'm sure your MIL was surprised to see you! Losing 60 pounds is a big deal. I hope you looked super-pretty and amazing!

outofseason - making it to the Y four times a week is totally awesome in my books. You never cease to amaze me with your exercise.

Lynne - so, the weight loss fairy hasn't been dropping by, huh? I feel you… But that's an interesting experiment suggested by Elise - good luck!

Wow, happy losers we are!! You know, I've been stuck at 151.5 for 5 days. No movement at all, up or down. It's strange because when I do my "mini-stall" I move up and down for a week. But this is the first time when the number on the scale hasn't changed at all. Oh well, I'm sticking with my plan anyways - at least I'm not gaining, right? I'll have a chat with my scale tomorrow morning if it's still the same again...

Hope no one's in the way of Isaac - if you are, be careful!

Anna

Stick with is ANNA!!! You are not gaining, that is a PLUS!

I know I sound like a broken record, but yesterday's DD ended a bit high. Like 1000c. Ended up taking my son to the ER, sprained knee. I was there FOREVER and got way too hungry. There's a reason I am maintaining, will reevaluate things and focus on getting back on true UD / DD rotations! I guess at least I now know what it will take to maintain!

Well, I bounced back up to 227 this morning... I do remember 225ish being a set point before, so I'm not terribly surprised, but I think I am going to look at changing things up a bit... not sure where to start just yet, but this is getting old.

Sounds good Hope all goes well with the ortho! Our pediatrician thought for sure that my son had torn his MCL at 14 and referred us to the orthopedic specialist where it was determined that he was just in the middle of a huge growth spurt and the ligaments surrounding his knee weren't keeping up with the growth and he just needed to do some specific stretches. In the meantime he couldn't play competitive soccer, but he had swam all summer without issue, so he decided to try water polo. Turns out he was a bit of a phenom and went on to become a high school all american 4 years later. One door closes...

Melanie! Wtg on the new decade!!!!
Anna- I got it at a bulk food store in the Niagara region... If u r near there pm me and I can send you the details.
As for me. I am just hanging in. No movement on the scale for me this week. But I am happy and just reflecting on how far I have come in just 6 months! I am satisfied with my woe. And don't really miss the carbage at all. (except maybe pizza and cheesecake and sushi) lol. Even still I know that I can indulge once in a blue moon and get back on track the next day! Hmmm. Since the blue moon is this week... Maybe it's time for a small indulgence!

Let me catch up, ladies...

Tami - if you're changing things I wish you all the best!! It is really frustrating when the scale does not play nice for a long time…

Monica - I hope your son's feeling better! Sprains hurt like crazy…

Melanie - CONGRATULATIONS on the new decade! You rock!!

boop13 - I do dream about sushi and pasta. But I feel so good with this WOE that I'm not going back! I do read a lot of food blogs to compensate for all the baking that I DON'T do, though…

My news? I'm down to 150, exactly!! For two whole days!! So 20 pounds total in two months, which is no small feat in my books. Of course this came the morning after I've last posted, which just goes to show that I need more patience with this weight loss. When will I learn? Although, my parents are both very impatient and I've got the double dose in my genes!

You can see from my signature that my weight loss has slowed down quite quickly. These last five pounds took almost a full month! But I'm not surprised, or frustrated by that fact - I didn't gain all this weight overnight, in fact it took years till I reached my all-time high. So of course subtracting the fat from my body must take its own sweet time too.

Anyways, my next mini-goal would be another 5 pounds in one month, taking me down to 145 by end of September. We're getting mighty close to autumn...

Hope you've enjoyed your Wednesday!

Anna

Anna! WOW! Congrats on the new low! You're doing so well!!!

Yep, Monica... hadn't a clue about water polo whatsoever, but it's been a lot of fun! Really quick game that keeps your attention, similar to basketball I guess.

I get on the scale this morning because there was a spider near it and hubby wasn't awake yet to kill it <gg>. Honestly I could have done it if I cared that much, but figured a break from the scale right now isn't a bad thing. I have still been eating well. Contemplating dropping dairy, just not sure about creamless coffee... hmmm...
