Lifestyle Changes! 6 MONTH CHALLENGE!

I have made a few revelations in the last week or so. Realizing this is a lifestyle change and not just another diet(which has been my thought process for years)......has made me adjust a few things. So, this thread is a 6 month challenge for whoever wants to make lifestyle changes, exercise, water, woe.....whatever!

Cheryl, get your hiney in here! Hope you have seen a loss this week!

Weighed this morning, and am down 4.5 pounds since Tuesday! Not too shabby for 4 days

Downing lots of water, walking 1 mile a day.

Today's menu:

B: breakfast muffin
L: either a salad or grilled chicken and green beans
D: hamburger scramble, mashed cauliflower

Found a new recipe for cauliflower pancakes....may try this weekend, looks really similar to potato pancakes, so hoping they are as good!

Have a great weekend!

Me too Cheryl! I would like to be at around 207 next week....that would be 8.5 lbs....a lot in one week, but I've done it before....will just have to make sure I drink all my water and not sit around. Want to get it off, then would actually enjoy the struggle of maintenance since I've never been there before!

Good morning! I had a great weekend, my day so far sucks but that's ok. I weighed this morning, TOM is here and was still down to 209.5 which puts me at 10 pounds for 6 days. Have stuck on plan, no offs at all. I made more breakfast muffins last night for this week as well as some deviled eggs.

Today:

B: 2 breakfast muffins(egg,bacon,broccoli,cheese)
L: 1 dill pickle, 2 deviled eggs, crystal lite
D: baked chicken, mashed cauli with butter, 1 t sour cream

drinking lots of water, not liking it much, but am doing it!
Hope you had a great weekend too!

Did not do good this weekend at all

I had a broken water line outside my house, Ashley and Danielle had friends staying over Saturday night - we had not water to house. Finally hooked up to my neighbor's water Sun am cause I was having family over for lunch Sun -
Thank God for nice neighbors!

Want to hear what I had for lunch for my company? I made baked beans, cucumber salad, mac and cheese, roast beef, turkey, cheees, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles. Nephew brought fresh rolls from bakery and watermelon, Mom brought her famouse macaroni salad!

I was so disgusted with my water issue - I ate all of it and then again later for dinner

I WAS SICK TO MY STOMACH AND THOUGHT WHY AM I DOING THIS????

Tasha - you are doing great -send me your vibes.........I FEEL LIKE SHAMUU

We have gone out to eat several times since I started back on this woe, I just keep remembering how bad I felt when I ate what everyone else considers 'normal' and how good I have felt since starting back on plan. I swear it's a mind game, at least it is with me....Come on sister! Gotta have a partner in crime! Hope you get your water problem fixed soon!

I'm trying to figure out our menu's for when we are in Florida in a couple of weeks. Would like to get some crab legs and huge shrimp for a big seafood boil, and put things in there I can have too.

plus...I've just told myself that I will not eat like that anymore, that is not a part of my life. I'm back to that place when I'm really not very hungry, so I can look at that junk and just shrug

Okay, I am not doing 100% today but I will do better than yesterday - I know if I can get two or three non-cheat days, I will be good.........

once I got past the 3rd or 4th day, I was ok, just takes a few days of getting your mind in that 'set' pattern.

Dh and dd took me out to Applebee's last night for my birthday dinner. I had every intention of getting a grilled chicken caesar salad, but the parmesan shrimp sirloin looked so good, I got that and broccoli. Has a lot of sodium in it so am feeling a little bloated today, but was still down a .5 pound this morning.

Today's menu:

B: 1 breakfast muffin
L: cucumbers/broccoli in homemade ranch dressing
D: the baked chicken I was going to have last night and asparagus maybe

Had about 96 oz of water yesterday and 1 diet coke....not to shabby!
Hope you have a great day!

D - turkey sausage with pepper and onions

gotta make this quick, I swear it has been hellish around here this week!

Down another .5 pound today to 208.5 Didn't eat what I had planned for dinner last night, dh wanted to take me out but didn't really feel like it, so ate a mishmash of stuff. I had a dill pickle, 2 spoonfulls of cream cheese, fried cheddar cheese and 2 eggs fried in butter with a slice of cheese. Lots of water and a Diet Coke last night.

Hope you are doing good still!!!

Today's menu:

B: 2 breakfast muffins
L: deviled eggs, dill pickle, crystal lite
D: finally going to bake that chicken and asparagus LOL

Gotta run!

Good morning...sure was thinking more people would come in here. It's ok though, I've found that you can start a thread with a ton of people and more often then not, it's usually the same handful that stick around. Like us

Still doing very well, down to 207.5 this morning, another pound bites the dust!

Last night baked the chicken, was so yummy and had asparagus and a dill pickle and water. I've been reading 50 Shades of Grey, so has been occupying my time to say the least, very good book if you read....goodness it's a dirty book. lol

Today's menu:

B: nothing, breakfst muffins didn't appeal to me this morning
L: not sure, hopefully salad with ranch, brought my homemade ranch today, getting where I just can't stomach the store bought kind anymore, tastes greasy and yuck.

D: either taco salad with Linda Sue's seasoning or maybe just hamburger scramble with some hamburger, egg, cheese and seasonings.

Hope you had a good day yesterday too!

No, I did not do that good. I am trying to figure out what my deal is - nothing would make me happier than to lose weight yet???

I am still trying, can not give up! Hopefully something will click - lately, I have no energy and I am sure that plays a big role.

Let's see what today brings.............

B - 2 hb eggs/bacon
L - Chicken from Boston Market
D - ? Going out so maybe shrimp or chicken?

Tasha - you inspire me!!

I have chalked my not feeling good and no energy up to carbs, plain and simple. Since I've been back on this woe, I have started slowly feeling better. It is easier to get up in the morning and I have more energy in the evenings than I did. I am having some potty issues I probably would have lost some more if I could go... haven't gone to the potty since Sunday I know...TMI lol Took a half a magnesium last night, still nothing, so will take a full one tonight when I get home and see if that gets things moving a bit. I really am not supposed to let that happen since I had surgery a while back, sure don't want to go through that again.

I know how you feel though, is exactly how I felt before I started last Tuesday. That's part of the reason I started that thread about getting started and how people stay on plan. REALLY was an eye opener for me, an AHA moment as Oprah would say And I made the decision that this is the way I will eat forever. I'm not saying I won't occasionally (after I have reached my goal) have a piece of pie, or in the summer, some homemade ice cream, but I know now that I can't eat the way I was, it just isn't good for my body. It not only makes me fat, but sluggish, has caused problems with my health such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and I also think some of my allergy problems are from carbs as well.

I also have been drinking a TON of water. I hate it, can't stand it, but know it is what helps with weight loss, and skin and a bunch of other things, so am doing it...

Happy Friday!

So....went home last night, haven't felt so hot and think it is because of the potty issues I mentioned, but I made myself two eggs for supper and read a little of my book and went to bed, I think it was like 6:30 or 7. I was so cold and thought, 'well, I'll just lay down here a minute and cover up'.....woke up at 9:22, washed my face, took my medicine and went to bed and didn't wake up until this morning. Feel refreshed, but still have a nagging headache and my back hurts....have to do something if I don't go today...this is getting ridiculous. I took a full Magnesium last night and still haven't gone

Anyway....enough about that.

Weighed this morning and am down 1 more pound to 206.5 Love watching the scale drop like that! If it keeps this up, I may be under 200 when we go to Florida...and maybe to 195 when we come back!

Today's menu:

B: 2 fried eggs with 1 slice cheese
L: salad with ranch
D: hmm.....don't really know yet. maybe the hamburger scramble I was going to make last night.

How did you do yesterday Cheryl?

I had a good day yesterday but forgot to weigh this am - my stomach defintely feels flatter.

I feel like I am getting there, it is just taking me a while.

B - 2 hb eggs/bacon
L - lettuce wrapped italian sub (no bread, I go to Jimmy John's)
D - Grilled steak with peppers

Snack - I have leftover meat with cheese if I get hungry.

When I go food shopping tonight, I am going to stock up so while I am at home on vacation, it will be there. I think I will do better away from work and hopefully whenI come back, I will be in ketosis! That is my plan. I will weigh in next week - I'd love to get out of the 190's - I have been here for years

hmm....I have never been to Jimmy Johns, don't think we have one here?? that sounds wonderful though, what is it that sub?

so glad you're back with me

I have been toying with the idea of taking stuff to make pina colada's on vacation.....I just bought the bottles before I decided to go back on plan, they haven't even been opened. :/ decisions, decisions. I'm afraid if I have even one it will spark off cravings. Thinking probably no. Best to leave them at home. You going anywhere for vacation?

Jimmy Johns is pretty neat. Any sandwich or sub can be wrapped in lots of leaves of lettuce instead of bread - for like $6.00

I am staying home next week - Getting Ashley's room painted, doing stuff around my house, getting a facial and massage, etc. My Mom's cousins are flying in from NY mid-week so I will have them over.

The week will fly by! I am going to St Augustine (right on the beach) in August for like 5 days, that will be my vacation this year. And a long weekend in Sept to the Keys.

All reasons to wear a bathing suit -

Are you really going to do induction on your vacation? When do you go?

love St Augustine! Is so beautiful, if you have a chance and you've never been, you should go to Anastasia Island once....gorgeous!

We are going to Cape San Blas, is about an hour East of Panama City Beach, secluded beaches can't wait. Yes, am going to try my hardest to continue induction on my vacation. I did it last year and ended up losing 2.5 pounds, first time that ever happened lol We leave the night of the 15th after work, and come back on the 23rd, although I went ahead and took off the 25th too. Will be me, dh, ds, dmil and my Grandpa(90 year old) is following us back, he has been up here for 3 or 4 weeks and is going back home, and my Mom (lives in Jax), is driving over to spend 4 days with us as well... cannot wait!

Oh, that sounds wonderful - I will be on my computer next week at home, so we can still chat!

What is Anastasia Island - just a beach? - I have heard of it and would love to go if you could fill me in!

I am going to try and really stay on induction next week, too!
