Exercise Tag

Hello Ladies, my Cyber Buddies

Quite a few of us need to get some exercise in so maybe we can play a game called "Exercise Tag." It is just like the game we all played as children and may still even play with our children if they are young and if we can move that fast. Anyhoo this is how the game is played IF you want to participate. You don't have to play and all spectators are ed. Each emoticon represents a certain type of exercise you will be tagged to do. The object is to do the exercise that you have been tagged to do, say you have accomplished it and go and tag someone else to do certain types of exercise. When you tag someone please say "Tag, you're it!" You get the picture? That person will in turn tag someone else and the game goes on until we tire of it and I can see we tire of it because at that point no one is playing. Just kidding, I thought this would be a way to have some summer fun and get some exercise in when we become boring in our journals and have relatively nothing to say(I'm talking about myself here, don't get your big girl panties in a twist! ) Let the game begin, oh wait we need participants so are any of you game(game get it game)? If so down below you will see what each emoticon means in the way of exercise. BTW- when tagged it is the honor system when you say you have done the exercise or not, only you know if you have spoken the truth and your clothes will know it as well. Enough of my yapping here is what the emoticons represent......

Note: If I didn't explain a certain exercise well enough let me know and also for any reason you can't do a particular exercise because of an issue just modify it to your capabilites. You can also tag someone to do more than just one exercise to challenge that person more.

Exercise Tag

= 25 Jumping Jacks

= 25 arm lifts with any weight of your choosing/hold arms out in front of you bring them in bending at elbow bring toward chest then out again 25 times/ then arms out to your side bending in again at elbow to your shoulders then out to side, do this 25 times.

= 5 Mintues of Cardio jogging in place. Jog lightly for those with bad kness just walk in place for 5 minutes whichever works for your body.

= Legs but without the laughing because you won't be laughing when you are done! Lie on your right side on the floor and lift you leg up and down 25 times and do the same with your left leg, up and down 25 times.

= 25 Push Ups - if you can do the mens kind do so but if you can't do the womans kind with knees bent and pushing up 25 times.

= 5 minutes of dancing to any music of your choice but NO Justin Beiber! Just kidding, Beiber away as long as you do it!

= 25 Butterflies across your chest. Use any weights of your choosing and with elbows bent and arms in front of chest bring arms out across your side and then back into the center of your chest 25 times. So in and then out, in and then out.

= 25 Abdominal Crunches. Get down on the floor! You heard me! Yea that hard thing below your feet that is hard getting up from because you don't exercise! You should know how to do these.

= 25 Knee to Elbow Crunches for Ab's. Standing straight bring right elbow and left knee to touch eachother and then cross over and do the same with your left elbow to right knee. If you are good at these and want to challenge yourself a little more do them fast as you can, but if you are like me and can barely touch your elbows to you knees then don't sweat it. Do the best you can!

= 8 oz's of good ole H20. You can add this to any of your tags to encourage us all to get our water in. No, it can't be coffee or any other beverage of choice but just plain ole' water. Okay you can have your slice of lemon if it means that much to you!

So these are our exercise tag emoticons, please don't forget to include them. If you want to participate in this crazy game then let me know by posting here on my journal that you are crazy enough to join in it. If at any time you do not want to participate anymore then just let me know, no hard feelings, I will look Hot for summer so don't be hating!

The game will officially start on Monday the 4th of June, why not doesn't almost every diet!

Happy2be, sounds good to me -- one thing, though. I'm an old lady so I might have to modify some of the exercises, but still would get them done. Jumping jacks in the pool, pushups against a wall, etc. But it would be a fun way to get moving, so count me in, please!

That sounds pretty cool. My only issue is that because of my back problems I cant do anything involving my arms. So the push ups and all the other stuff involving my arms are out. But I could most of the other stuff I think!

No problem Melissa. We will try to remember that as we go, but if you get tagged with something you can't do... Just say Pass and ask for a different challenge. Its going to be a fun game and not a have to do this now kind of thing.

Morning ladies, please be patient as I fine tune this game. It will start on the 4th of June. Sunday the 3rd WILL be the cut off for any new players so if you want in please post on this thread to say you are in or on my journal "To Onederland and Beyond" by Sunday the 3rd. to say you are in. If the game goes well we can do it again in the Fall around September. For others who didn't make it in by Sunday the cut off you can be spectators and comment as much as you like on this thread. More information on this thread to follow so stay tuned. So far their have been 11 responses to playing the game that includes myself.

It would also help that if you have a journal of your own that the link be in your signature. If you don't know how to put the link in your signature let me know and I can make one for you to copy and put it there. This way we can all encourage each other in each others journal as well.

Ok, challenge starts tomorrow!!! Here are some more clear cut explanations of what we are going to be doing.

1. Anyone can join right now but cut off is Sunday the 3rd-No more can join but spectate and comment. (If people are interested once we get going we may be able to add them. )

2. You must be a daily poster, read others journals in the challenge and support each other, and read/visit the exercise tag thread atleast once a day.

3. Game runs from June 4th - Sept. 4th.

4. If tagged you HAVE to report on the Exercise Tag Thread as well as in your journal that you did the exercise .

5. People can put a link to their journal if they know how to do it. If you need help with a link let me know and I can make one for you.

6. People have to check journal and exercise tag thread to see who was tagged and their comments.

7. Main rules are in the first post of the Exercise tag- to play you have to refer to it.

8. A person can be tagged more than once but get everyone in on the game and get to know someone else that is part of the fun of the game.

9, Modifcations to the exercise are fine as long as it is reported and done.

10. Tagging is not limited to just the exercise tag thread you can tag in journals just make sure you let us know you were tagged in the Exercise Tag Thread.

I'm ready to play as well and I am IT for the day to start the game. Waiting for a few more responses on journals before beginning. Be ready ladies because the TAG is coming and you WILL be tagged so be ready for it. Let's have some fun with this and stop making excuses as how we have no time to get moving. Deb if you could post a link to your journal that would be great. Melanie had to do mine I am so bad with the computer, only know how to post. If not Melanie, sweet Melanie will help.
