++ LC Our Way++ May version

Hi all, Forgot it is already May so here is a new thread.

I was 160.8 this morning so I am hoping to solidly stay in the 159 range for this next week. I have a craft show tomorrow evening and Saturday.
Not a good week in our town. One of DS' high school classmate's Dad was mowing his pasture and hit something and it hit him in the head and punctured his brain. He died the next day. One of my former students made the local paper. I thought he was in jail for sexual assault but guess he was already out. But he is back in for the same crime. Sad. During the night Wednesday, thieves scaled a pipe to the roof of our local Tractor Supply and stole all of the copper out of the roof air conditioning units. Hope next week is a better one.

Wow Adi, what a week. That's awful about the man mowing. I never even thought of that as a possible risk.

I was supposed to play Pickleball tonight but it got cancelled so I got a massage instead It was heaven.

My eating is just crazy. I've been eating a lot of chips and junk. Must stop.

Yes the freak accident is so unreal. Mowing with a tractor and I still can't figure out how it could happen.
Trading pickleball for a massage sounds good. Glad you enjoyed it.
DH had to go to 7 on 7 football tonight and I have just finished chores and I am working on the pool. Took a break to feed Sami.

lilmiss - no guilt allowed. I had a Whataburger and small fries one day for 920 calories and loved it. Actually that is the only time I have had fries.
Tomorrow is an UD. I see ice cream in my future.

lilmiss - I LOVE ice cream and the summer Bluebell flavors are out and I must try all of them. I often have a pint of Bluebell for dinner. AND I am still slowly losing. LOVE JUDDD.
I am eating my UD breakfast of scrambled eggs. Sami has her bwol and is getting extras since I am cooking a dozen small eggs. The first eggs that the hens lay are sooooo small but that is good. Fresh yard eggs.

Now here is something odd. DH has lost a lot of weight. His school issued coaching shorts which have a zipper and button are so big, he can just unbuckle his belt and they literally fall to the ground. He hasn't changed anything in his diet EXCEPT he is only eating the beef and pork that we raised ourselves. I am guessing the meat without all of the additives is letting him drop plus the beef is really really lean. Plus I think I can see his portions are smaller the longer he eats fresh, non growth hormone meat. Just something to ponder.

Yesterday was unseasonable hot for May and I got too hot. Managed to get it all done at the craft show and when I got home I drank salted lemon water for a long time. I was so hot. FINALLY cooled off and I was the same weight this monring but that was to be expected with all of the salt water.
Know any good recipes that use a LOT of eggs? We are getting 2 dozen a day and they are piling up. I boiled a dozen to make deviled eggs and we eat 12 every morning on UD's and 6 on DD's. Guess the dogs can get some too.

Why did you drink salted water? Did you feel you needed the salt? Just curious and learning from ya.

So...have NO idea what in the heck I am doing eating wise, did 2 ok DD last week, NOT 500 cals more like 1000 and lost like 3 lbs. Then Friday was DS' bday an d we went out to eat. Was at a friends for a party last night...yadda yadda yadda. I am nervous about the summer with the kids out of school etc. Not sure I can adhere to 500 cals every other day. Willing myself to do LC again.

lilmiss - I was craving salt so I thought since I had gotten overheated it couldn't hurt and it did help. Sea salt and lemon in water felt soooo refreshing. I had already had a lot of plain water but that wasn't helping until I added the salt.
I don't mind the DD's anymore. The UD's are still my hardest part. I still want to have everything I didn't eat the past 10 years.

adi, you probably sweated a lot and lost a lot of salt and minerals, and needed to replace what you lost.

Can you make quiches or fritattas? I used to have a recipe for pound cake that called for a LOT of eggs. You could make them and freeze them and then sell them along with your soaps.

lil miss, you and me both! I really want to give JUDDD another try. I might try doing DDs Tuesday and Thursday this week.

Got out for a 2 mile walk tonight. I saw a lot of out of shape people jogging and it really inspired me to give it another try.

I saw a lot of out of shape people at the craft show Saturday. Compared to them I was slim and trim. Sad too that so many young people are way overweight.
I had a good UD today but still drank salted water. I am sure I was depleted like you said kritter. Got my DD all planned. Cake. Oh Boy. I can really use up some eggs for that. Lemon pound cake sounds really good. I will have to check my recipe books for cake with lots of eggs.
Sami is enjoying having extra eggs. Instead of her regular one she gets at least two.

Well, I guess I finally got enough water in me. I was up over 3 pounds this morning but while I was out doing chores I had to stop 3 times to go to the bathroom. I actually weighed less after chores than when I got up. Yea for water.
DD - did not eat my egg this morning since I didn't feel well. Only had one cup of coffee with cream too. Drank more water. L - not hungry yet but I have soup if I need it. Forgot to bring my HB eggs.

Funny about the water Adi, you are doing so great on JUDDD. I dont think I can do it now. I think I need to reimbrace LC and dedicate myself to it like I did oh so long ago.

I DID do lower calories today, 1000, obviously not near 500.

lilmiss - Remember that we all did so well on LC but also did low fat. That is how I dropped 30 pounds in 6 weeks BUT I hate to stay low fat. I have a very nice menu planned for tomorrow and it comes in at 1600 calories. Hoping to give it a try and see if that will speed me up. If not I will raise the calories slowly. I have a big breakfast planned. Eggs of course.

When I was successful at LC I HAD to eat fat. I did better when I ate more fat, go figure. I may try to play with JUDDD and LC. I cant eat bread anyway! JUDDD style but picking LC foods. I will be interested to see how you do playing with your calories. You are doing so great I am so proud of you and happy for you!

There is a REALLY big guy (350) pounds doing JUDDD and he upped his DD's and subtracted those calories from his UD's and is losing fine. Guess it takes some juggling of numbers to find the perfect combo. I know my UD calories are too high since I get carried away but I am diligent with DD's. Was 159.2 this morning and I decided to have a HB egg and a pickle spear with thin sliced turkey when I got home. Then another pickle spear. Lots of salted water too. Trying to get my body used to salt agaijn so it doesn't retain so bad when I eat a salty food.

I am so excited. It is pouring rain here. It has been so dry we thought we were going to have another drought. We planted our garden adn then it never rained again. just a few little corn plants poked their heads up. Now everything should sprout. Late but still we might have food to pick.

I was going to try to do a JUDDD dd today and just eat some greek yogurt, but lunchtime came and I couldn't resist getting a giant salad and then when I got home tonight I couldn't resist eating a small bowl of ice cream. I don't know where my willpower has gone. Oh and I think the yogurt didn't agree with me because I've had bathroom issues all day - that's all I'm saying

Glad you're getting some rain adi.

I made an appointment with an accupuncturist. I've always wanted to try it and she is a paleo advocate. It's $80 for an hour so I figure it's not too much money down the drain if it doesn't work.

Yay! Sorry I have been MIA lately, been super busy. Yesterday was SO busy but so wonderful. Boys had piano recital Friday night, Saturday they had their first maintenance test for black belts in tae kwon do. I was so proud of them after both of these event, neither of one I CAN DO, that I cried! Then we had the little guys bday party with his friends and then my hubby and I were to play euchre with friends for the first time and we were nervous bc we didnt grow up playing like these folks but we had a great time! [and held our own ]

Trying hard to eat LC but hostess of last night went to great lengths to get gluten free things for me [pretzels, pound cake] so how could I not eat?

I am still fluctuating calories, just not so low as 500, it happens naturally bc of how DH is eating MWFs.

lil miss, is DH sill JUDDDING? Do your boys like playing piano? I hope they stick with it - when they're older they'll be so happy they did.

I went for a 2 mile walk this morning and just had a 1/2 chicken cheesesteak for lunch(skipped the roll). Going to try to do a little resistance work later and maybe even another walk. It's a beautiful day here today.

Hi all.
lilmiss - So many activities and it only gets more complicated as they get older. With one it was bad enough. Can't imagine having to have three in three different places at the same time. Enjoy them though. It is fun. That is why I took up soapmaking so I would have a hobby so I wouldn't miss going and doing things to support DS in his many activities.
tay - Thanks. I am slowly creeping down on the scale. Don't want to lose anymore right now since my formal for the graduation bangquet is on the verge of being too big now.
kritter - It is also a beautiful day here. Got a Happy Mothers Day text message from DS. Was surprised I even got that since it is finals this coming week for him and he wants to graduate with honors in Engineering so he is working hard to make that happen.

DH and I finished putting the shade cloth on the greenhouse and I planted tomatoes under it. We bought a roll of ground cover over 20 years ago. When we moved here DH just threw it somewhere outside. Can you believe it is still usable. I guess it will never decompose. The shade cloth is quaranteed for 8 years so we may never have to replace either of them.

It has been raining allll day here too! And its only 70*! Its gonna rain all night and tomorrow also. Crummy weather! Yesterday was so nice.
Went shopping with my DD and Granddaughter then went to Fridays and had steak. Yummmm! LOL It was delicious. Had a great day!
Hope all you moms had a great day and feel appreciated.

Adi and all, how are y'all doing? I'm on a DD and did pretty good. I came in around 600 calories. Not too bad.

Finished half of my chores. Ate dinner now I have to go milk. DD's are my easy days. the UD's are my hardest thing to conquer.
I am working on getting my water weight off but my ankles are soooo swollen I doubt I will be down tomorrow.
