Hi Ladies...
The board here is being weird. I'm having issues posting, the pages don't want to load. (hope this will post) Anyway, ![]() Prom here is next weekend and DS18 JUST asked someone, so I will have to take him to ORDER his tux this weekend. There isn't anyplace to rent them in town and we have no time before Saturday. I need to order flowers too and that is another thing to figure out since the florist that did pretty much all of the flowers for all HS events went out of business last year just after prom. They also need to figure out transportation since the dance isn't in town and they will have to get on the freeway to get there. Last year they split the cost of a limo and I'm hoping someone has that in the works this year because it really isn't safe for a group of tired inexperienced distracted teenage drivers to get on the freeway at midnight. Other than that, DS18's bike got stolen this week. Which is, of course, a transportation problem, since he rides his bike everywhere. On the upside though, I did clean out a bunch of drawers looking for the receipt to file a police report. I shredded a ton of paper stuff that we don't need. Of course, I found every receipt for every bike and bike accessory (and even repairs) going back to when we moved here except his. Luckily, we always buy from the same local bike shop and they were able to find it in their computer and reprint the original receipt from a few years ago along with the bike's serial number. I'm sure its gone forever. ![]() |

Kelly, our grocery store floral departments make nice corsages.
That is tough with the bike. They are not cheap. I had trouble with page loading too. |

Debbie, I didn't even think about the grocery store. One of ours was just redone and now has a floral dept. The other one takes orders for leis for graduation. (and kicks back a % to the school for grad night)
We have a ton of florists in town, just sad that one I went to for years isn't there anymore and not sure which one I should call. MK, I'm sure the bike is just gone. I did look on craigs list last night but didn't see it. It wasn't a super expensive bike, and it was a few years old, so at least there's that... Bike theft is pretty common here especially around the schools. He unlocked it to go home from practice, realized he needed to ask his boss a question, ran in and was back out in less than 10 minutes and it was gone. Sometimes kids take them joyriding and they do turn up, one of his friend's got his back after 2 weeks, DS14's best friend found his in a dumpster on the other side of town, so its possible. We've had a lot of burglaries over the last year or so around town. Most of them have been where people left their house unlocked, but a friend that was recently robbed told me the police arrested a group of people responsible for more than 250k in thefts. They were taking things that were small and valuable, so jewelry, silverware, electronics mostly. (they took electronics from her house) So, while its really nice here, stuff happens everywhere unfortunately. |

home from my run. DH comes home tomorrow night. I work tomorrow.
Got almost everything done I needed to today. I still have a basket of laundry to put away and one to fold but I don't feel like it. I got my mammogram done and it was over due. I hope I get normal results. I always have but with the girl at work with stage three breast ca I worry. My grandmother got breast cancer in her 50s I think. |

![]() May I say I am so glad I have a three day reprieve from the madness! SO Cool MK!!!! What else did you do? Inlaws come tonight. My BIL is driving them here, we are having dinner then they, along with DH drive them home to MI tomorrow. DH and BIL will be back here Sunday afternoon. DD24 and I are heading to Appleton in the morning to do some shopping. I can't wait. I really need some retail therapy. Kelly - anxious to see prom pics! That s*cks about the bike! ![]() Off to work early - have to stop at the deli and pick up food - my team chipped in and I volunteered - we are having a surprise food day for one of our co workers who is expecting early July. She would NOT want a shower, so this was the next best thing. ![]() Have a good Friday!

Morning-
Cindy, a surprise food day sounds fun. It is always fun to see kids all dressed up for prom. Hopefully, DS18 will actually ask his date what colors. Last year he got lucky, his date told him she was wearing a black dress and he got red accessories for his tux. She changed his mind and ended up with a red dress but didn't tell him until just before prom. MK, WOW! how was the flying lesson? Sounds so exciting! (hope the sunburn isn't too bad) Enjoy having your camper back at home. Debbie, busy weekend? to everyone else. |

Very cool trip -
Lake Tahoe was fun ~ we rode the gondola up to where the skiiers were and watched for a while . . . ate lots . . . back in CA we went to wineries, shopped, etc. I bought a pair of Tom's. So cute! And for every pair you buy they give a pair of shoes to a child that needs them! ![]() Anyone remember Murphy Brown and her painter Eldin who would.not.leave. because he was never finished?! ![]() His legacy is at my house! The 2-day paint job just finished day 4 and will continue on Monday!!! ![]() On the plus side - DS19 is HOME FOR THE SUMMER!!!!! ![]()

They sell Toms shies at Nordstrom Rack. I didn't try them on. They look comfy.
DH got an earlier flight. Up early tomorrow to run. He is running the Frederick Half Sunday so we need to drive up there for the expo. I work Sunday so can't race. I am not in half marathon shape. Sounds like a fun trip MK. |

Morning-
Having a lazy and quiet morning. DS18 is working, DH is running, and DS14 got up said good morning and went back to bed. We had dinner out with a friend at one of our favorite restaurants last night. Not exactly a low carb meal, but oh so yummy! We shared appetizers and dessert, so ya know... (everyone's favorite is home made potato chips, drizzled with pepper jelly and a blue cheese sauce, then topped with blue cheese crumbles.) MK, I never really watched Murphy Brown, but I do know what you are talking about. I don't have any Tom's, but they are very popular here. The local surf shop even sells them. Cindy, hope you find fun stuff while you are shopping today. Debbie, you always amaze me with your dedication. |

No one posted yesterday!
Monday and another crazy week. Fun weekend with in laws and BIL visit, shopping with DD Saturday, errands and stuff yesterday and then dinner out with DH and BIL last night. MK - I have plain grey and black Tom's. There are some knock offs out there that look just like them - Bob's by Skecher and there is another one too I can't remember. Totally switched make up on Saturday at Sephora - I asked for advice and got some great new products, tips and a makeover! ![]() How is everyone? How was your weekend??? |

Working 10:45-7:15.
Yesterday was not a bad shift. Did get stopped by a cop a block from home. He said I rolled and stopped late at the one stop sign on the road. Then he said I was speeding. Being a nurse in uniform saying I must have zoned out after a long shift he gave me a warning. I know I stopped but maybe it was just after the stop sign. A car was coming the other way and I made sure they weren't going to turn in front of me. Speeding? Maybe. I was close to home like .2 miles away on a road with no cars. I am lucky!! Need to get dressed, dry my hair and make my lunch. I sent my mom a Chico's gift card for mothers day. Bought on line. Still need to mail out the card. My youngest turns 21 Wednesday. Not sure what to do for his birthday. I know he will go out with his girl friend. Better go dry my hair or it will dry funny. |

Another day, another orientation......
![]() Sorry to hear about your Mom, MK! ![]() ![]() I only send MIL a card - my Mom I do something......sometimes a trinket, sometimes something bigger - this year I am calling a spa by her house (if you call it a spa, ) and having them send her a gift certificate for whatever service she would like. She's never happy with whatever she gets...........so I am just glad I am not there to hear about it. ![]() DH may go up and help his parents this weekend - I won't go - I don't need to see my parents again. I know some people don't understand, and glad I can just vent here......I talked to my Mom on Saturday and of course she has to get her comments and digs in and I just don't need them in person. MK - I was looking for something to brighten/illuminate, and she said was using too many powder based products. I was using BE Matte foundation and building on that. She changed my primer (Laura Mercier) and my foundation (Lancome). They both illuminate and I really like them. Also got a different bronzer (Makeup Forever) and a blush (Stila). Also told me I need to put blush ONLY on the apples of my cheeks. Really like the way it looks now! Ok, I've rambled enough........Happy Tuesday all!!!! |

I barely wear make up. I need new makeup because mine lasts forever.
My mother got her Chico's gift card already and is over noted. She doesn't expect these things. I got her an IPod shuffle when I was there and she loved that too. She still had the old IPod from 5-6 years ago and it didn't hold a charge. I have to get moving. Need to get birthday card for Michael my soon to be 21 year old. DH and his girl friend went in together on tickets for Beauty and the Beast. It is coming here and they are a few $100 dollars. He found seats near the orchestra.Michael saw the play on broadway twice and it is his all time favorite. He used to listen to the sound track over and over. He would sing along and knew very word. I need to go get my emissions test done. I know I have more to do. My trip is coming soon and I need water shoes for The Dead Sea. I may order on line but never know if I should get 7 or 6.5. Cindy, I used to avoid my mom growing up. We get along great now. I am glad my boys and I get along well. It is supposed to storm later. Hope I can get my run in. If not maybe I can go see Isabella. We are baby sitting Saturday night so her parents can go to wedding. I hear she is walking every where now and not crawling much. Kelly, when is graduation?? MK, your son home????or should I say camper? Jenn, come back. Didn't you have a trip coming up? Becky,Ange,Kaye- please post more!!! |

![]() We managed to get the tux ordered AND the corsage ordered for prom this weekend. The florist I used told me she is going to cut prom orders off earlier this year because mother's day is the following day. I'll share pics next week. Like Debbie, I'm pretty low maintenance. I wear a tinted moisturizer with sunscreen and mascara (for my blonde eyelashes) pretty much every day along with a tinted lip balm. That's pretty much it unless its a special occasion (and sometimes even then) MK, glad your camper is home to spend mother's day with you.Cindy, DS18 is going to the very last orientation that overlaps with getting there early for sports. It isn't open for everyone, but we didn't want to pay for an extra flight for summer orientation when he has to be there early anyway and he felt like he had a really good intro to the campus when he visited since he got to sit down with academic advisors. Debbie, happy almost B-day to your DS! Graduation isn't until June 6th. Its my parents 48th wedding anniversary that day too. I can't think of a better way to celebrate with them. ![]() Need to check on the laundry and DS14 should be in soon. He'll (of course) be starving! |

![]() Last day of orientations for me today. I have this Mom I call "screen shot Mom". She sends me screen shots of her son's student portal......really? Shouldn't your son be taking care of all of this himself? I saw her yesterday.....and avoided her. Thank God. She was one b*tchy lady via email, but in person.......I could have taken her. ![]() MK - I will be in Milwaukee the weekend after you!!! Hard to believe the kids are done (almost done). DD22 has an exhibition on the 19th and then Peck School of the Arts has what I call a sashing ceremony that Saturday night. Graduation is Sunday, but she is not walking. She will finish up her gen eds this summer.....is DS staying in Milwaukee? Anxious to see pics of prom Kelly!!! TGIW!!!! |
