3 Day Egg Fast for stubborn weight... Join me

Alright I am starting an egg fast (or meat/egg fast if you prefer) starting tomorrow but am going to stay close to no carbs until a few more of these really stubborn pounds come off. I have been bouncing between the same few pounds for 4 months now and am ready to loose them.

Who's with me?

Rules:
Really there are no rules as you will have to figure it out for yourself but this is what I'm doing.

At least 8-12 eggs a day
At least 96 oz of water/crystal light (I water mine down to 1/4 strength)
Mayo and other seasonings to taste
Coconut Oil and butter for added fat and calories

That's it. Make up your own as you go along.

Yeah, a lot of people do cheese. I just happen to be a cheese addict so I think I would go overboard.

I've seen a lot of people do up to 4 ounces a day and still loose lots of weight.

I'm in too. Have been doing egg & meat fast for two days. Will do pure eggs tomorrow but will be adding fats and mayo. Don't weigh myself because I get obsessed with it - but generally know by how my clothes feel (a bit snug at the moment!).

Will report tomorrow.

I'm in! If I don't see a loss soon I'll scream! I'll have to start tomorrow because I already ate breakfast and I have lunch packed in bag and on my way to work. Well I guess I can start with dinner tonight, now that I think about it. Yay! Everything in my closet is getting so tight. My thyroid disease has been goin crazy, and after losing 20lbs, I gained it all back. But my new meds are starting to have an effect, so I think it's possible for me to start losing again. This will be the perfect way to kick it off.

Started JUDDD on 8/1 at 153lbs. (lost 3 pounds first week )

Boop and everyone else. If this fast doesn't drop the pounds I'm going to give up and go dive in a melted chocolate pool and leave it empty because I HATE eggs. I figure if I only eat the food I absolutely hate, there is no way the weight won't come flying off me.

Doing great so far, my breakfast filled me up and I probably won't each lunch till about 1 PM. I did a meat egg fast a few weeks ago but I tend to go much too heavy on the protein so I'm to clean that up a bit.

Hi

I started this yesterday and I'm down 2lbs already.

Breakfast
3 eggs with cheese and 2 slices of bacon
Green Tea with Splenda

Lunch
2 Hard Boiled Eggs with Mayo
Green Tea with Splenda

Dinner
3 Eggs with cheese cooked in coconut oil

80oz of water

I have a bad headache so I guess it working. It's been easy so far but I do miss meat. I might bring it back in tomorrow. I will add that I just finished my TOM, so that may explain the 2lbs overnight.

I am so in!!! Thanks for starting this today. My hunger has been at a standstill, thankfully, so all I ate today was a big ribeye spread out over two meals and some crystal light with a splash of whiskey. ( I know, but it was my gf birthday!) Guess we'll see how it goes tomorrow.

Starting weight 190.8

Good luck everyone! I am off to make some deviled eggs!!

I haven't started for the day today but just thought I would say goodmorning. I kinda screwed up last night and didn't want eggs so I ended up eating a turkey hotdog and also a little caprese salad that I'd made for the family. Not horrible, but hopefully it didn't mess me up.

Anyway, definitely going to be better today. Good luck everyone else!

Today is day one for me! Packed 4 hard boiled eggs and a chicken breast for lunch then two string cheeses for snacks. Nervous about tonight- dinner at my mother-in-laws- hoping nobody will try to make me eat anything outside the meat eggs and cheese!

On a side note- have been really struggling with constipation! I have been raking the magnesium and am up to 4 tablets with no luck yet ( last bm was on Saturday). I may drink my dieters tea today to get a move on things.

I am 144.4 today which I'm ok with considering I'm on day 4 of no bm... Let's see how much it'll go down in the next 3 days

Let's do this!

Morning

Down another 1lb this morning. So that's 3lbs since Monday. Woo Hoo!

I have allot more weight to lose than the rest of you so I may lose a lil more. I actually had to take a multi vitamin yesterday because my body was feeling depleted. I still have the headache though. Surprisingly, I feel energized like I could workout, but most of the info said this is not advised. If I can get a 1lb a day I will try and do this for 2 weeks lol...

This morning breakfast:
2 fried eggs with cheese and 2 slices of bacon
Lunch
2 hard boiled eggs and mayo
Dinner
Guess what?? Eggs in CO with cheese.

100oz of water

I really wish I could eliminate cheese but its the only thing that makes this tolerable *sigh*

Sidebar... I am coming off the TOM, so probably most of it is water, especially since I retained about 3lbs so my starting weight was 236...trying to see the 220's

I can understand it making it tolerable. I also wonder if the cheese doesn't help your calories stay high enough. I don't know how to calculate your menu in terms of calories, but it does look on the low side. Is that a part of how this woe/fast works?

Hi

It is on the low side. I average around 1200-1300 calories according to ******. I was concerned about it. I thought it should be higher, but I'm thinking that ultimately this works because you are essentially limiting your calories and reducing your carbs to almost none. In the Atkins book he says you must calorie count and limit to a 1000 and then 1200 for the fast, but I can't imagine getting under a 1000. Surprisingly with my current menu, I haven't been starving.

I think many have revised it to work for them, so you will see allot of different variations. So far it seems to be working, I had been stalled for the last few months with keeping my carbs around 30, so I think I'm one of those people that need to stay low inorder to lose.

I was down a pound this morning too. Good thing I was about to go through the roof with frustration.

I didn't realize the egg fast was in the atkins book. I thought it was just something we made up on this board. Hmmm good to know. If the good dr. endorses it, it must be good. But I hear ya about the 1000 calories... I don't see how people can eat at that level and not lose their minds. I've heard people say their calories naturally drop that level once they go low carb but that never happened to me. I hope the no-appetite-fairies visit my house someday.

Okay, today I ate two eggs with a spot of cream cheese, some spinach salad and cottage cheese for lunch (I know - not eggs! I just didn't have time to make the egg salad I was planning on having) and then tonight I'm making another scrambled egg feast. Maybe with some tuna I grilled up on Monday.

Peace!

I thought the egg thing was made up online too, lol. The only Atkins book I ever read was the old school one..and the only fast I recall in that book was a "fat fast".

I think my calories are very low on this too and I'm never sure if thats self defeating? (I hear so many warnings against it over the years) So I've been tending toward adding "extra fat" when I cook the eggs or meat, as I worry about excess protein as well.

Also, if any of you know...I just recently started taking Fish Oil. Does this get added into the fat percentage of daily intake? I mean could I reduce the amount of VCO or butter or olive oil on/in the food by the amount of fish oil?

ok so I survived dinner at my mother-in-laws! There were torta's and baskinrobins ice cream cake! ahhhhhh SO tempting. My mother-in-law put a whole torta (bread and all) in front of me and my hubby stepped in and said "oh mom, that will be mine, she only likes hers with just meat- no bread"....BLESS HIM. OH he made it so much easier for me. I did, however, eat a lot of cheese earlier hope that doesn't change things on the scale. My stomach is hurting quite a bit right now, and I know TOM is on its way (the next 4 days or so)...

oh well- I'll just keep giving it the best I've got!

Good morning. I'm checking in again. Prepared to meet the day head on. No weight loss yesterday but that's pretty much my MO. I've given us AS since yesterday to see if it helps. Now I'm down to eggs and fats and that's it.

If this doesn't work I don't know what I'll do.

B: 4 Eggs scrambled
L: probably devilled eggs or something else eggie
D: Have not been hungry but maybe some hardboiled

This seems to be working for me... I am down another 1.2lb today! However I am tiring of eggs... so hoping to stick with it today, then start adding in some veggies again tomorrow!

Hi! I've been reading up old posts about egg fasts and meat/egg fasts. I'd love to join you all but I'm going out of town to visit my mom for a few days so it's not really possible to stick to just eggs for the next few days. May try to stick to just meat & eggs but we'll see how things go. The last time I was at my mom's I fell off the lc wagon big time. Hope that doesn't happen again! Meanwhile I'm wishing you all have great success

Down another pound today. I have 6 hard boiled eggs in my bag. All I could throw together before rushing out the door. Today is a crazy, back to back 12+ hour day. Not sick of eggs yet, but it helps that I am seeing a loss every morning. Amazing what that will do for motivation levels.

Bdaustin7 awesome job on saying no to your MIL. Sometimes that is the hardest thing, saying no when others are pushing food on you. I tend to lose my temper even to the point of making things permanently weird between coworkers and such... But gdammit I'm not going to eat the cupcake no matter how many times you try to get me to eat it and THATS FINAL. :-)

keep the faith ladies. We'll get there.

Down a pound today, not feeling very great though, mentally or physically today. Trying to stick to eggs but we'll see. Its been one of those weeks.

So far I've had some powerade zero and 1 string cheese (technically not allowed but I was hungry and it was easy).

Hopefully my mood will feel better tommorow.
