Oh wow, well that does make sense about what the trainer told you. I'll have to do some more research on it. I was in Target a few days ago and saw one that came with a workout DVD. I think it was Bob Harper. That's what got me thinking about it...hmmm, I'll have to check out the reviews on Amazon and see what they say.

What a great idea to use balloons for your DD's birthday gift!! I bet she loved that Wow...10 years old. I can't imagine that yet!

Not a whole lot going on at our house today, just the usual. We are thinking about taking a trip to see my in laws this weekend though. They are in New Jersey so it's about a 3 hour drive (we live in Virginia). We don't get too see them often, so that will be nice.

Hope you ladies are having a great day!

Gonna go back to counting calories for a time. The scale isn't moving, even when on plan!!

Scale at 189.5. Grandson goes home in the morning, so then will be back on MY schedule. Not complaining, but can't get outside to do horse things with 9 month old in tow.........

iakaren - I'm counting calories too. So far, so good! I'm trying to stick to a moderate carb diet though. I find that if I revert back to my old "diet" food of 100 calorie packs, diet coke, etc... I over eat! Go figure! That's nice you were able to have your grandson stay with you awhile.

I'm going to try to get a work out in now...if the kids will let me!

I agree with the moderate carbs. I am trying to make the carbs I eat "good" carbs. No junk food or marketed diet foods. Figure a few mashed potatoes is better than Doritos.......

Hi gals! Whew its been busy around here!!! Birthday bash stuff is over and back to reality LOL

Did I tell you guys we bough a pool this year? I can't remember Got the chemicals all adjusted in the pool and its ready to go! Finally! So here's to water aerobics! Going to try getting in it tomorrow after work for the first time. Well if its not totally freezing!

Went to get my bike out for one of my rides this week....flat tire! Will have to have DH get out the air compressor tomorrow to pump it up and take a ride fri, sat and sun to get my 3 rides in!!

Beachmom-so what the word on the Jersey trip? DH and I want to want to take a trip that way one day. That will be nice to visit the fams!

Karen-ITA! Eat a potato! LOL I feel lots better when I just eat whole foods. I stay away from high carb foods but I need some or I get dizzy! Then on the flip side of that if I eat too many carbs I am exhausted! Oh and I get heartburn Oh yeah I'm a mess LOL

Rosehip-hows the house looking??? Nice and sparkly? Any word from any of the interviews? What are you thinking of doing for strength training? There is a lot of stuff you can do with little to no equipment. The problem is just getting started!

Hi, I am back. Crazy week so far and my mom is in town for 6 weeks.

Had another interview on Wednesday so now waiting to hear yet again. These processes can take months though - lots of red tape...blah! Hoping for some news before BF and I go on vacation in July.

Karen and Beachmom - I know what you mean about moderate carbs. The bad, processed stuff is a slippery slope. I had the same problems with 100 calorie packs!

Lotus - your birthday idea was so cute! I love it. Hope DD had an excellent time Also I am so jealous of your new pool, I love swimming! I'll just grab a towel and be right over...

Today I am picking up building supplies for BF as he is at work all day and it was too much for him. Have no clue how I shall manage with all the lumber and stuff he needs but I figure some home depot worker will take pity on me and give me a hand tracking everything down.

Plans for the weekend??

Rosehip - I hope you hear something soon! Good luck at Home Depot...sounds like a big job!

Lotus - Yeah, we decided to go! We are leaving Sunday afternoon. It will be quick trip since DH needs to get back to work, so we are coming back home Monday evening. We are going to take the long way back though and go through Philly. DH is trying to convince me that we need to stop by the art museum so he can run up the "Rocky" steps...LOL.

Well I am off to finish up some school work and figure out dinner. Have a good night!

Good morning,

I'm going to weigh in today because we might be leaving for our trip tonight. I'm up a pound BUT I'm not too worried about it because I added strength training to my exercise regimen this week. I'm sure it's a combo of water weight and muscle...at least I hope! I've been keeping track of my calories/carbs, so it better be...LOL. Anyway, I'm hoping for a nice loss next week!!

I might not be able to get back on here until Monday night or Tuesday morning, so have a great weekend and good luck on your weigh ins Sunday

Beachmom - good for you for adding strength training, WTG!!!

Lotus - where I grew up we swam in the Atlantic Ocean in the summer when it was 3-4 degrees celcius (in the ocean, not outside ha ha). I took BF there once and told him to "just wade around until your legs go mostly numb" hahaha....

I am taking a break from scraping old adhesive/carpet glue off our hardwood floors. We uncovered them under 6 layers of carpet and subfloor. It involves boiling water + vinegar, spraying, and using a handheld scraper to remove the gunk.

I have a funny feeling that it is going to be tough getting out of bed tomorrow morning! Luckily I did my 4 miles BEFORE I began this extra manual labour...oh dear!

It was only 2 layers of carpet...there was also some linoleum and random wood stuff. OMG I feel like we are on a renovating TV show with no cameras rolling... hahaha

Yes I do wonder - we have it all, even wallpaper with "faux bricks" on it, made out of plaster! It is hilarious But I mean, it might have been all the rage circa 1966.

I am -0.5 this week and happy for it. I have had a crazy week of water weight so even a small loss is a big encouragement. Hoping that I am on the downward track for next weekend, too

How was this week for you ladies??

I'm back!! We had a blast, despite out 3 hour road trip turning into 6! Agh...I guess that is to be expected with 3 little ones. It will be a VERY long time before we do that again though! haha

Great job on the losses this week! I am hoping all the eating out we did won't affect me too much this week. I tried to be as healthy as I could, so we'll see!

Good morning,

Lotus - LOL...it can't be that bad, right?! I know what you mean, I'm like that before I weigh in. We're here for you, so don't worry!

I decided to join weight watchers. My mom and dad have been going and are having a lot of success, so I thought why not?! I had my first meeting yesterday, and it went well. It seems like they really encourage a moderate carb lifestyle, which is what I'm trying to do anyway. I think the fact that I have to go weigh in somewhere will really help me stay on track!

Any fun weekend plans? I think we will probably hang out at the pool.

Oh

Lots of people have great success on WW!! I joined a few years ago but it was before they revamped the program to be more bad carb aware. At that time they were all into SF food and frankenfood! The new plan looks really good though!

We have a grad party tomorrow and then going to celebrate DH's birthday on Sunday. Not sure what we are doing but I know cake will be involved at some point

Then I NEED to clean up around here! Haven't vacuumed in 3 days and with 2 kids and 3 dogs i am about to be condemned LOL

Mmmm cake!! Well whatever you decide, hope you all have a great day celebrating

Oh I hear you about vacuuming! Now that DD has started crawling, I definitely have to stay on top of it. I actually don't mind it too much though. Laundry is the thing I detest the most LOL

Speaking of which, I should be folding clothes. Instead, here I am sucked into some Lifetime movie...haha. Okay...commercials are over now

Hey gals back from grad party. It was a 2.5 hour drive to get there I actually did not know it was that far! Oh well, was fun visiting and the kids had a blast seeing cousins they haven't seen in a couple years!

Summertime is a double edge sword though isn't it? I love the weather and being outside but you always have things going on and never on plan food to be seen! Actually not 1 good option today at that party. So Karen I was off today too! Gotta hit it hard on Monday!!!

Beachmom- I used to watch all those lifetime movies but had to stop! I was paranoid someone was going to sneak my baby out the bedroom window while I slept or some other weird tragedy! They are good though!!!
What did ya do the rest of your day?

Karen-glad you got a day to relax a bit!!! Your always working so hard!!! What ya readin? ANything good? Do you babysit your grandson or does he just come over to visit everyday?
