I would try the two weeks of alternating first to see if you like it - many, many people recommend this on the JUDDD forums. I find DDs are easy whether I am home all day or out all day...but I guess that's a personal thing.

can I also just vent and say that increasing my daily exercise has increased my daily hunger? LOL Today I could have eaten a horse and a half!!

Any interview feedback yet????

2 miles! Good job Rosehip!

Lotus - That's awesome your daughter got her cast off! I'm sure she is relieved!

Everyone is healthy (knock on wood...lol), thanks for asking! Today I had my first physical therapy session for me knee. I don't think I mentioned going to the doctor last week, but everything looked good - no major injury!

How is everyone's week going? Our schools get out Friday. I can't believe how fast this year flew by!

Yay for your DD getting her cast off, Lotus! She must be pleased

Beachmom - so glad you are not injured, yikes!! Hope your knee is doing better.

As for me - wrote another exam this morning for job stuff. Hard to explain but all the processes I am in involve a pre-screening, exam, and then interview. So I am waiting once again for more results....waiting on all of them now It's so slow!

The lady who administered my test this morning told me I had the highest results she has seen yet though...so that was a boost!

BBQ chicken and asparagus for supper tonight at our house. How about you??

That's good news!! I hope you hear something soon! BBQ chicken sounds good!

I took some chicken out for tonight and will probably have spinach and brown rice to go along with it. I am on a brown rice kick now...lol. I love it, so yummy!

So I passed one of my exams and have an interview next Wednesday...crazy! I am glad but I feel like I am really being put to the test I'm telling you, as soon as I finally sign a contract for a new job, I am getting my hair highlighted and buying BF a bottle of scotch.

Beachmom - I love brown rice too. I love the texture. We had roasted chicken with a mexican brown rice pilaf thing not long ago. It was basically just diced peppers, tomatoes, and onions with some cilantro, cumin, and lime juice.

I had a 3 mile run today on my schedule...I travelled 3 miles but about 1/2 of it was walking. The heat was so oppressive and I had not really had any water before going out (big mistake)...at one point I was thinking I could really use some water, it's so hot..and a huge truck drove by that said "WATER" on the side in foot-high letters. I guess the universe was laughing at me for being ill-prepared today!

Rosehip, you definitely deserve a reward for all your hard work! That is great you have another interview. I hope you hear some good news soon!

That is funny about the water truck! Oh and can I say for your 3 mile trek today! Running 1/2 is still awesome...a lot more than I could do at this point!

Well tonight's dinner was not a big hit! Ugh...my kids are going through a "we hate vegetables" phase. I will thank DH for that since he doesn't like them either I think I may need to start being creative and hide them in other foods. Broccoli brownies anyone?! haha.

My sympathy. DH here only like meat, potatoes and beans.........(and not green beans) Makes it tough to include veggies much.

Karen and Beachmom - I feel for you!! My friend has been cooking for her grandfather lately who eats no veggies except potatoes. She says she grates carrots and zucchini into spaghetti sauce and chili (it disappears apparently) and adds pureed cauliflower to mac and cheese. Funny

Beachmom - you are not far off with the brownie thing. Google black bean brownies or pumpkin brownies! Apparently they are delicious lol.

Yeah, sounds just like my DH. The only beans he eats are baked. Other than potatoes, corn is the only vegetable he will eat. Although I do have to give him credit for drinking V8 fusion...haha. He is very proud of that

You know, I did google "hiding vegetables in food" and actually found quite a lot! Honestly, the recipes I looked at sound great! I wouldn't mind just making things like that all the time. I'll have to try it and report back!

Hi guys!!! Been so busy this week this is the first I could even log on!!!! Well I went to late last night but dozed off

Rosehip- Yeah on the job progress and the run!!!!

Beachmom-Thats a tough one! You gotta tell DH to suck it up and set a good example!! Oh and then tell me how it went LOL Will they eat it if you put cheese on it?

Karen-what ya been up to???

I had a totally OFF plan day yesterday which may be why I couldn't stay awake! I was in a seminar all day and all they had was carby food and then DH wanted to go out for mexican and I figured I messed up the day might as well make the best of it! Back at it today though! Which is a huge improvement!! Normally a cheat day turns into a cheat weekend, then week, then oh never to return again! So I enjoyed it and moved on and am cool with it.

Oh and TOM is here soooo really proud that I got back on track today!!! Between the two I am expecting a gain this week but will get it back off!

Karen, I envy your fun day, too!

I am down 2 this week! Weighed myself yesterday aftter my down day...cheating i know but weighing after an up day is crazy talk So happy...although I partially think it really is the result of adding more exercise.

I had a crazy day of eating yesterday that included street festival food (read: nothing good for you!) oh well....I have all week to work it off

I was so bad this week at even attempting to implement what I was going to

so this week I will try

1. make those stinkin smoothie things for breakfast again
2. still off the coke haven't even had a drop!
3. get my bike out and ride 3 times this week
4. um...yeah thats it LOL

Oh totally going to be off plan dinner tomorrow. Its my oldest DD's birthday and she want homemade lasagna and coffee cake whatever its her birthday LOL

Lotus - That is great about the coke!! Up 1 isn't too bad at all!

I know, I haven't even thought about mini goals for the week either. In fact, your post just reminded me I need to do that! I definitely need to get some kind of routine going now that the kids are out of school.

1. Stay on track with my plan! With all the BBQs, parties, etc... there is just way too much temptation lately! So far I am doing good with it, but I'll admit it's getting tough - which is why I love coming here and checking in with you ladies

2. Drink more water.

3. Exercise - now that my knee is feeling better, I'm going to start adding in more workouts and some strength training.

Looks like it will be raining here most of the day. We need it, but I was really hoping to get outside with the kids. Guess it will be a cleaning/laundry day!

Ugh, it is SO humid here, I have been retaining water like crazy! No matter how much I drink, it just seems to stay with me....water weight...grrr

My goals for this week:

1. Try not to get so discouraged about the water weight/bloating thing...ha ha

2. Exercise

3. Repeat the above two things!

Water weight is the worst, isn't it?! I get discouraged about it too, but then remind myself that there is no way I put on 2 or 3 pounds of fat in one day. It is pretty frustrating though!

I got my new digital food scale today! Oh the things I get excited over now...lol. It definitely put my mind at ease as I made dinner tonight though. No more guessing and second guessing myself with portions.

Do you guys do any strength training? My doctor mentioned that I needed to add that in my exercise program. I have some 3lb dumbbells that I'm going to start with, and I'm also thinking about getting a kettle ball. I wish I could go to the gym, but I don't think that will be happening with the kids out of school for the summer.

Beachmom, you are so right! I spent 2 hrs cleaning my house today, too, so surely all the sweat means finally the water weight is leaving

I should be doing more strength training - I was thinking of adding it in to my routine sooner than later. My gym membership expires soon and I don't know if I will renew it due to running. Apparently you can get a great strength training workout with some small weights, your own self, and a mat. I will have to look into this...

Hi gals!!!

Well looks like we all need to ramp up the exercise huh??? I have all sorts of stuff in my basement to use just never do it! Beachmom i have a couple kettle bells, a trainer told me one time that you can really hurt yourself using them but I have never put that to the test! LOL I tend to go buy the latest craze and then just look at it!

Water weight in super frustrating! Stay off the scales ladies!!! its actually really cool here today.....figures. We just go the ok to use the new pol and its cold!

Had a great day with DD She turned 10 and 10 year olds are hard to buy for so I got 10 balloons attached to 10 gift bags and put a $10 bill in each. She was happy to shop for her own stuff! We are also taking her and a friend to an amusement park on Monday and Tuesday next week.

Oh and in case you were wondering the lasagna was
