I've got some ideas, right now, but haven't kitchen-tested 'em yet... Probably won't get a chance to till next week, at this rate. (Son has TWO b-day parties this weekend, and "spring fair" is today -- going to try to get another baking in for that)

I'd found some that looked really good, but it turns out they need to be refrigerated or they don't stick together. Hence... I have to invent them.

212.5

Wrenched my bad knee yesterday -- it's swollen. (Though not as bad as last night.) So much for being able to hike in Yosemite.

I'm a bit dehydrated today, because once I managed to get the kids home from Spring Fair, I really wasn't able to get UP to get myself water.

My measurements in several places (including neck, upper arm and, oddly, CALF) are down this morning, but my weight is up. I'm calling it water, and the knee-swelling.

(While I've got the typical ugly bags on my upper-arms, I don't have fat on my calves. That's not where I store it. So it's odd that I'm down 1/2 inch there today... of course, the calf I measure is the one on my bad leg... )

Yup. Record my weight & measurements at the same time. I get fluctuations there, too, mind you... but my trend is still down.

Hope your knee feels better

Have you ever made a cream cheese cloud? I made them for the first time last night. So good.

8oz cream cheese
1/2 cup unsalted butter
3 tbs of torenti syrup (or whatever sweetener to whatever tastes good to you- mine were not too sweet)
1/2 tsp vanilla

Mix with hand beater- drop by spoonful on wax paper, put in freezer. Its yummy.

I got a little off track my meat/egg fast yesterday and had a small salad with dinner out at a steak house. I also ordered bacon wrapped shrimp and after sending them back twice they took them of my bill. They were sweet- honey maybe. I can smell and taste a very small amount of sugar these days.

I weighed today. NOTHING lost (no gain). So frustrating.

Do you have a bad knee normally or is this a totally new injury?

211.

I've had a bad knee for over 10 years. Since 2009, when I had a new re-injury, it kept me largely bed-ridden for nearly 2 years. The only treatment the insurance company will approve is a highly addictive painkiller -- I can't even get anti-inflammatories for it, because they decided the X-rays and MRIs show it's "not bad enough". So some @*()% in a corporate office who has never seen me or my knee has decided that I get to live a life of pain. (I can't take narcotic painkillers till after my husband is home, in case I have to drive my children...)

I cannot tell you how depressed I am to be back dependent on my cane, laying in bed with it propped up hoping for the swelling to go down. "Depression" isn't a big enough word for it.

Did my best to rest it this weekend... which meant yesterday was lived in COMPLETE isolation from my family. Just as most of today will be.

I'm sorry.

213.5, and my waist is back up to 40".

I'm NEVER going to meet my challenge if I don't start getting enough water!! (Still in ketosis, and hardly ate yesterday... other measurements down, including arm, neck, FOREARM, but didn't drink enough, clearly. Which I can totally believe...

Losing so much enthusiasm with my knee blowing out again doesn't help, I suppose. At least I'm doing my "bounce" thing 4-6 lbs lower than I was in March.

Sure enough, mid-afternoon, went potty... 2" off my waist. Weight-fully clothed after that was 214.5, which since I'd been eating AND had my cell phone in my pocket & all is encouraging.

Yeah!!!

I'm laughing at the cell phone in the pocket. I would NEVeR weigh with clothes on or a phone in my pocket. I've stripped naked mid-day to weigh before!!!

I have very specific weighing requirements -- naked, first thing in morning, BEFORE food or water, and AFTER potty. If I've had food/drink past 2am, it doesn't count. (Because I've seen it make a real difference in my weight!)

It's just that this morning's numbers were so bad, and that trip was so... prodigious... that I had a feeling it was worth a peek. If I were a bit more mobile, might have stripped, but I'm using my cane and my handicapped placard lately. Taking off pants is a major pain. (Literally, unfortunately.)

Realized my cell was there AFTER I'd walked all the way back in here. For my normal morning weigh-ins, I take off my watch, my glasses, and my amber necklace -- nothing but skin & hair.

Once, many years ago, I had to go to the doctor's office 2 days in a row. I don't even remember why. But I do remember I "lost" 7 lbs between visits... See, the first day was cold. I wore boots, jeans, a T-shirt, and a sweater. The next day was hot: Sandals, shorts, tank top.

So the only weight that counts for me is skin-only... but that was a hint I'll have better numbers tomorrow. (What REALLY pleased me was 2" back off the waist. Going from 37 to 40 like that was... distressing, even if I KNEW it wasn't fat.)

I'm about ready to pull out my hair in frustration... Still deep in ketosis, not eating very much AT ALL, so this is all "other stuff".

212, after a day of very high-fat eating. Of course, I'm constipated (AGAIN), so maybe that's got something do do with it... I just don't know.

Thing is, my weight-loss for April was a steady (and steep) downward line, until the day I decided to "go for it" and try to drop the last 14 lbs by the 27th. Since then, I've been steadily bouncing. Since the 11th, I've been nothing but a yo-yo.

I didn't hurt my knee till the 14th. While I know the swelling there has to have affected my weight, it's not ALL my knee. I think my body figured out I have a goal and a date, and is just trying to frell me.

That's got to be it- anti goal body! I'll claim it as my problem too. 3 weeks till my anniversary trip and no loss. Bounce between 194-196. So irritated.

Have you ever tried super dieters tea? I drink that at night when I'm constipated and it helps me.

lol I've got a thread on constipation, under health issues. Thought it got cleared up, but it seems to be back. (No carbs needed. ) I have my daily supplements all lined up a month at a time. I'd been relying on memory to grab another cal/mag supplement during the day... This morning, I put an extra in each "slot", so no more trying to remember.

Yeah!

I'm off of the all meat and egg fast- almost 2 weeks on it and lost nothing.

AND I'm to the point that I'd rather eat dirt than another piece of meat.

210.5

Tarrah -- I could never do a meat/eggs fast for 2 weeks -- I usually do 2-3 DAYS!

The weather's just gotten so hot here (near 90 yesterday) that meat doesn't sound that great, either. I want coleslaw. I want custard. I want cold cream with a couple berries stirred in. I want little slices of cheese to nibble on with some nuts. I want cucumber slices dipped in ranch. (Had the cheese, nuts, and cukes last night, anyway. May make the custard later.)

Yesterday, I cheated. I as at a baby-shower. It was socially awkward, because I knew the mom-to-be (a good friend of mine) was unhappy about the type of shower that was being thrown. The food-spread included cheese & nuts, so that's what I ate... and then the hostesses came around with the cake.

I'd talked with the mom-to-be the day before, knew she was DREADING the shower, the hostesses were making it really hard for her (like the shower was for THEM, not her), but it was awkward because they were her sisters-in-law. The cake was obviously their pride... I shut up and took a piece.

I did, however, conveniently "forget" the prize I won when I left: It was a bag of really fancy 'healthy' oatmeal from a local place, and a bag of chocolate-covered almonds.

I'm hoping someone took them home who will enjoy them.

I use to do M&E for a week or two and lose 10lbs! Nothing now though . Getting older sucks.

My plan for this week is lighter. I probably wont lose- but I won't feel sick at the thought of a meal either. Shrimp cocktail and crab mushrooms for dinner tonight.

Sorry your friend had a rough shower. My wedding shower was much like that. Good for you to leave the cookies! I'd have the opposite problem- I could turn down cake but cookies are my weakness!!

I did a hike today- a tough one. 2500 feet in 1 mile- 2000 stairs up. Then a 4 mile hike down. Its called the manitu incline- something I've wanted to do for years but never thought I'd ever make it up. I'm pretty darn proud of myself!

DANG! Some hike! That sounds fabulous! Though I'm not up to that kind of altitude gain anymore -- my knees just balk.

My knee's still being really painful, which is depressing. Glacier Point Road just opened up in Yosemite, so we will be able to hike to Taft Point like I wanted... I'm just not sure if my knee will be up to it!

Next Friday morning, we hit the road. I'm still 10 lbs above goal, but hitting 210 was a milestone of its own.

Got a busy couple days ahead, but I want to start experimenting with the bars tomorrow evening.

Oh -- and after the cake, I was still in ketosis this morning. (Measuring at "Moderate/40", instead of one step past that, where I'd been. (80, I forget the word they use.)) The cake was rich enough that it didn't send me into a hard bounce. And while I've been craving mostly sweet things, they're all mildly sweet but allowable things... And I blame the weather more than the cake. (My typical summer meals are heavy on fruit/cold veggies, light on hot/cooked foods.)
